I died watching this like 10 times. cb is a funny dude and one Hella confident kid

2022 Transfer Portal Thread • Apr 06, 2022 08:51 PM

@BShark

he played well against KU but I didn't get the feeling he could play at this level. Should land somewhere bigger though

Next Year's Team Thread • Apr 06, 2022 04:51 PM

@DCHawker

It's been a while since the Florida players did that and not sure we'll ever see it repeated. We definitely can dream though.

I didn't mention the elephant in the room since until something more then rumors come out its not worth talking about. Will we continue to fight or take it on the chin? When that times comes I'll have to reevaluate my fandom to College Basketball.

@approxinfinity

Perfect response in much "nicer" words then I would have used.

Next Year's Team Thread • Apr 06, 2022 04:03 PM

I really do hope one of Wilson/Braun returns because that guarantees KU would have a featured player back. Both come back and the ceiling for next year is a lot higher then if only one returns.

Before the tourney started I thought we'd see both back. Now we have no idea what would motivate them to come back.

For Braun he's a Kansas kid, a lifetime KU fan and as we've found out his bond with Dejuan Harris goes a lot further then the basketball court. What does Braun want his legacy to be? It's already sky high. Another year could send it to the rafters like Ochai or he leaves on a high like Mario Chalmers did. His NIL game was just starting to ramp up as the season was ending (merchandise/apparel) so that's another thing that may incentivize him to come back if his draft grade isn't to where he has a guarantee.

For Wilson he's got parts of his game that could use developing. The chance to take on that "alpha" role and be a featured scorer could be the kind of opportunity he needs to change NBA minds.

ESPN's 4th headline in the College Basketball section " Does anyone care that Kansas' Championship is tarnished by NCAA Investigation".

Never stop a**holes

@BShark

Case also involved with 4 star guard RJ Jones. Regarded as one of the best shooters in the class. Same town as Jalen Wilson

Kansas: "They have been active. I talk to Jeremy Case and Kurtis Townsend. They want me to play the position of Remy Martin but with the offensive skill of Ochai Agbaji. It has been pretty good conversations with their staff and they have visited my school plenty of times. They have not offered but we talk here and there and I would like to receive an offer from them."

2023 Recruiting • Apr 06, 2022 01:57 PM

4 star guard Chris Johnson mentions KU as one of 3 programs recruiting him the hardest. Arkansas & Tennessee being the others

Kansas: "I talk to Jeremy Case. I was going to take an official visit earlier this year but my high school schedule could never align with the dates. We are still figuring out a set date where I can go."

Next Year's Team Thread • Apr 06, 2022 01:44 PM

Worst Case Scenario- KU loses 6 of its Top 7 rotation to graduation and professional avenues.

Best Case Scenario- KU returns 3 starters in Harris, Braun, Wilson with a 4th possible McCormack.

Let's hope for a little bit of the latter.

Next Year's Team Thread • Apr 06, 2022 12:54 PM

KU to this point hasn't shown any interest in the transfer portal because they were too busy winning a championship but it will be notable to see what they recruit and what positions. A championship is surely going to get guys attention a little bit more now. Remy Martin having a successful March also helps.

Also despite showing up on some final lists KU doesn't appear to be in the serious running for any remaining unsigned HS recruits. That could change but with 4 studs coming in + the portal being available to get something ready-made to contribute I don't see them getting another HS prospect.

Next Year's Team Thread • Apr 06, 2022 12:51 PM

Here's the skinny.

David McCormack & Ochai Agbaji

Underclassmen with decisions to make- (2)

Christian Braun & Jalen Wilson

Redshirts with decisions to make- (2)

Kyle Cuffe Jr & Cam Martin

More then likely to return- (5)

Dajuan Harris, Bobby Pettiford, Zach Clemence, Joseph Yesufu, KJ Adams.

Next Year's Team Thread • Apr 06, 2022 12:40 PM

Might as well start this up to talk about the comings and goings of next years squad.

After a Championship all bets are off on who leaves & who returns. We have 4 stud recruits coming. We'll likely be active in the portal for insert_ amount of players.

Until then enjoy the glory of this year.

When we talk about a team peaking in March- 2022 will be the head honcho forever. Literally the definition

@wissox

believe CBS/TBS owned by the same conglomerate which is why TBS had it this year in some contractual thing

@Jethro

In the Miami game we were only down 6, little different in a championship game down 15 I thought. I knew we'd rally but you wonder how much that rally would take out of them to get there. We just played a nearly flawless half again to get it done. Those guys were a true team. I'll never forget them. In fact its incredibly sad that will be the last game that group plays together.

THANK YOU, JAYHAWKS • Apr 06, 2022 09:33 AM

Can't lie I had some bad memories pop up at halftime especially as the deficit reminded me of past tournament losses. It took about 10 minutes to recalibrate myself and realize we got 20 more minutes left, make the most of it, enjoy the moment and most importantly we can still win. In the game chat there was several that kept the faith and I'm appreciative to those that never lose that eternal optimism. This was a 2nd half team all year long. Half-Time adjustments are literally one of Self's greatest attributes as a coach and it paid off again.

I was really young for 88, wasn't even a fan yet. 2008 was amazing especially after the heartbreak of 03. The gap since though has been tough and you wonder if it will ever happen. This championship will be tough to top for me personally. With everything this program has gone through the past 5-6 years it just means way more.

Still don't have a voice, my voice box is hurting.

2021-22 PER's & Stats • Apr 06, 2022 09:30 AM

Final update for the season, WE ARE THE CHAMPS. It will never get old.

Ochai Agbaji ends his storied career at #15 on the All-Time Scoring list. Whenever his Jersey is retired I'll be there.

CB in 61st place after his Jr year. If he returns he'd have a chance to be in the Top 20 in scoring all-time.

David McCormack sits in #45th place all-time. If he used his covid year another that could end in the Top 20.

Remy got his 2,000 career points in a KU uniform. Remy the legend!

Our rating actually dropped on Kenpom & Torvik for winning the Championship. Can't make this stuff up. As always analytics are just a tool.
