Remy game time Decision but not expected to play

2021-22 PER's & Stats • Jan 14, 2022 06:41 PM

@jayballer67

Yeah Oscar. He might break the rebound record against us

COVID Roll Call • Jan 14, 2022 06:06 PM

My son's pre-k class is on covid pause now after a positive. He's out of school until at least Wednesday. They couldn't tell us if it was a positive from his class or the other pre-k class down the hall so we are left to wonder into the sunset I guess.

Pre West Virginia Notes • Jan 14, 2022 05:59 PM

Remy didn't practice Thursday. Day to Day

Zach will not play

Yesufu turned his ankle on Tuesday which is why he didn't play. Self said he looked good Thursday practice

Pettiford is full speed in practice but they are monitoring his abdominal injury

On David McCormack and Jalen Wilson: "I'd like to see them play with a free mind. ... David was a first-team all leaguer yesterday [in practice]. But it's one practice."

On Wilson: "He's done [scoring, rebounding, passing] in different games. ... He just needs to put it all together."

"I don't think we've played our best basketball .... Sometimes it's hard to play your best when health doesn't allow you to."

2021-22 PER's & Stats • Jan 14, 2022 05:47 PM

@BShark

Will he get healthy is certainly my question at this point.

2021-22 PER's & Stats • Jan 14, 2022 03:50 PM

@DCHawker

Lots of Quad 1 and 2 wins to get in conference play + Kentucky still on the books.

Will be interesting to see if PER's revert back up or this trend is something more concerning

KU/TCU game rescheduled • Jan 14, 2022 03:20 PM

@mayjay

Certainly could happen. Wow

Non-KU Games • Jan 14, 2022 02:57 PM

@BShark

I hope he gets an extension when he loses to KU twice

2021-22 PER's & Stats • Jan 14, 2022 11:40 AM

The metrics have not been kind to KU this week.

PER's- Since conference play 9 of 12 players have seen their PER drop several points.

Och with over 300 points in 15 games. Heck of season for him so far.

Brucie on a very hot hot seat. • Jan 14, 2022 10:49 AM

Might be 0-4 but on the play hard chart they are 4-0

KU/TCU game rescheduled • Jan 14, 2022 10:47 AM

For March 3rd. Awesome scheduling. KU will play TCU back to back in 3 days.

The reality of this team is • Jan 14, 2022 10:45 AM

@wissox

Unlikely with how KU has recruited the position for next year

COVID Roll Call • Jan 13, 2022 05:04 PM

@approxinfinity

He's gotten it both times from his work where outbreaks seem to happen all too often. First time he had covid he had the normal cold like symptoms, this time nothing.

The reality of this team is • Jan 13, 2022 04:44 PM

@kuballin10

It's too early to deal in absolutes. I'm sure nobody is happy with the play of Dave this year including himself. He looks like he's playing less then 100% and its all in his head as far as his output on the court. Usually your Sr year is your best version of yourself and that's not the case with Dave so far for whatever reason.

NBA draft 2022 • Jan 13, 2022 04:36 PM

@kuballin10

12 is high and probably a bit unrealistic but still a lot of basketball left to see where he eventually may end up. I think there's limitations to his game that would keep him in that 10-20 range but perhaps he's going to hit another level coming up as we get into the heart of the season. Definitely has worked hard to get to that point.

NBA draft 2022 • Jan 13, 2022 03:46 PM

Latest CBS Mock Draft has Ochai #12. Would be a heck of a success story from unheralded recruit to lotto pick

Bill Self "growth stunter" • Jan 13, 2022 03:42 PM

@drgnslayr

I think Remy fits well with this bunch but your right he's essentially a freshman here. Remember he wasn't here for offseason and even when he got here to start the fall semester he was hurt. It always makes some difference when you don't have chemistry developed with teammates and coaches. We've certainly seen that even Remy and Self have that give and take relationship going. Self pushing Remy to be a bit of a different guard out there then he was at ASU. Perhaps that would have been all ironed out before if they spent a full summer together etc but its spilled over into real games.

We've seen what this team is when Remy isn't on the floor and its not pretty. Having that secondary playmaker on the floor makes or breaks the offense really because Och & Braun are not creating plays on their own. It puts Harris in a tough spot to be the guy creating for everyone else which isn't his strength.

What I saw in the Iowa St game was Harris & Pettiford afraid to take perimeter shots when they had opportunity especially when defenses were sagging off. If that was Remy getting those looks he's taking the shot. Remy really helps spread the floor and defenses respect him so he doesn't get a ton of open looks running our normal stuff. If the last couple games are an indication of anything I'd say Remy is the most important player in the lineup to creating the kind of flow we want in the offense

COVID Roll Call • Jan 13, 2022 03:14 PM

My household all tested negative and my father continues to be asymptomatic. Thankful
