Cole Swider in the portal. 6'9'' and 40% from three this year...
And where is he from ?
Nova
My thoughts exactly. Seems like he's going to move up again in the ranks pushing towards 5 star status. He might be a year away from being really good but he's already got a bunch of skills that should get him PT
Devion Smith- Miss St, freshman PG transferring. #63 ranked recruit in 2020 class.
Avg 5 ppg 3.6 rb, 2.9 ast and had a season best 17 pts in the NIT championship a few days ago
Wow, I thought they'd be really interested since only Bacot is likely to return in the post for them. I would take Aidoo in a heartbeat and play him, this team clearly needs a big who can step up into McCormack's role after next season.
Social Media is absolutely beating up Boeheim over losing Kadary Richmond.
It certainly looked like Dave was becoming the guy as the season went on. But I don't think he's a sustainable option if he can't keep himself on the court more then 23 minutes a game. His job this offseason is clear, get in shape to where he can play 27-30 minutes on average and above 30 in big/tight games or this team is going to have to find another identity.
To be expected with free agency in place but yeahh...

@BeddieKU23 Wut? Are you saying he is going G-League or we're going after him?
Both. He mentioned KU was one of several schools recruiting the hardest. It's also expected he goes G-League which has been an option for him for a while
KU involved with recent Memphis decomit 4 star Arterio Morris who's headed to the G-League. Good times
Looks like FSU is going to land Kadary Richmond, transfer from Syracuse. Big time get for them, this is kind of guard/wing that Self could use to replace Agbaji long term. 4th in the ACC in steals off the bench. Cuse was +125 with Richmond on the floor in 500+ minutes
Just before he committed to Creighton his ranking hit the Top 40. Just seemed weird that he followed through with picking them. This is one you wonder about, the talent is undeniable and he would raise KU's ceiling a good deal coming here but I just hope the staff knows he's of good character and the people around him are as well.
Wow I didn't realize he was +100 recruit, my memory there slipped. I remember watching him in HS and he was so good. Definitely a good comp then
Before the fall hit I believe Washington was ranked in the bottom end of the Top 100, they probably sold him on replacing Zegarowski as well. Then he goes to AZ and absolutely kills it, moves up a ton and now is pushing for 5 start status. Big time improvement. Imagine if AAU was normal he would have been one of the stars and seen his recruitment go in different places
It's a high comp, Edwards was a beast in HS and a more decorated recruit but the similarities in their game and body are there. I'm very high on Pettiford having a role as a freshman
On tape he looks like a Top 50 kid. The comp to Carsen Edwards seems like a good one. We'll see what he develops into but very excited to land him for the upcoming season. He's pretty much the perfect kind of guard for Self's offense. Some Dotson/Frank/Devonte playmaking ability, defense, quickness and high level athleticism.
Nice article on Bobby P

Reading comments from Louisville's board they were not happy to lose him and most seem to think he was going to be really good in College. Always good to see that from a fanbase who's lost a recruit.
Looking bright I'll say..
Yesterday's commitment of 4 star PG Bobby Pettiford gives KU a significant boost in the backcourt joining Dajuan Harris & Bryce Thompson. Self isn't done yet as high 4 star (possibly 5 star) PG Tyty Washington will likely end his recruitment in the next few weeks and it could be a favorable outcome for KU. In the class of 2022 Bill Self has already landed a commitment from 4 star combo guard Kyle Cuffe Jr out of New Jersey, a high flying, defensive minded guard & 4 star wing stud Gradey Dick. Should be fun to watch all these guys develop. Ty sign with the good guys!
Transfer portal approaching 1100 on the last day of March.
Kansas St lands 5'7 PG Little Rock transfer Marquis Nowell, averaged 14 & 6 last season
Ohio St lands Penn St PG transfer Jamari Wheeler
Jack Nunge leaving Iowa- Been injured a majority of his career
Brothahood Patrick Tape' transferring
Emmanuel Dowuona- Purdue
Jalyn McCreary & Trae Hannibal- South Carolina
Michael Flowers- South Alabama, averaged 21 ppg on 39% from 3. Flowers has made 233 3's in his career and had a career best 88 this past season.
Aljami Durham transferred from Indiana to Providence
Martice Mitchell- Minnesota

He is apparently friends with TyTy and think they play well together. Somebody hold me.
Whaaa whaaat! Don't even do this to me lol
Awesome news!!!!
And beyond those 3, Ayayi & Nembhard are just redicilous in their own right. They push pace so much that they pretty much run you out of our own rhythm. Creighton tried so hard in the first half, made something like 8 of 9 at one point and then missed 4 and they are down double digits. Demoralizing. I think USC's length at every position can cause some issues but if USC isn't locked in defensively and doesn't sag the paint I don't see how they win. Gonzaga literally finds ways to make it a layup line
Something with Mikey?
Payne is the 12th of 18 signees during White's last five years to transfer
Florida can't put up with that can they??
One to monitor for the Big-12. AJ Green's father just joined the staff at Iowa St as an assistant coach. Green sat out last season with an injury. Wouldn't shock me to see him follow his dad..
Not sure just expecting an unexpected announcement, seems to happen every year
Wouldn't be surprised at 3 more names too be honest, 2 of which you named
More movement
Trey Wade- Wichita St
Kobe Elvis & Keon Edwards- Depaul
Justin Mckoy- Virginia
William Douglas- SMU
Joe Hedstrom - Wisconsin @wissox
Officially in the Transfer Portal per Self.
Hopefully he finds a good home and finishes his career on a high note
Self with two free scholarships to play with.

good stuff
Give me TyTy AND Pettiford.
Let's hope!~
Gonzaga doesn't shoot a lot of 3's but I think your pointing out they just shoot a ridiculous % from the field in almost every game. Their layup game is 2nd to none in the country. They run stuff to get you going one way and then all of a sudden they have a backcut or a layup, or an offensive rebound for a layup. So much offense right at the tin.
good stuff
Was only a matter of when not if.. Good luck to Tristan
Looks like the portal is going to be BUSY today.
Jeriah Horne of Colorado- Thought we should have taken a look into him last year, kid can really shoot it, size at the Wing/Forward spot.
Kadary Richmond- Syracuse, former Top 100 kid had promising season I thought.
Omar Payne- Florida- Hasn't lived up to ranking.
I think Self is trying to get back to having two guards on the floor. Harris and Thompson are it for guards. They could start next year but what's behind them? Braun & Agbaji don't have the skillsets to be guards. Need competition and guys that can compete and earn minutes. That's why he's out there aggressively seeking help. They obviously like Harris a good deal because he did get more and more minutes as the season went on, even started a game. The Marcus experiment at PG wasn't ideal, pretty much how the Elijah Johnson year went. Maybe Self learns from this finally.
2013 is up there with me just because of the late game collapse. We controlled that game for 38 minutes and then pissed down our pants.
2016 was worse then 13 for that foul call and how tight of a game it was. I've probably watched the replay of that foul a hundred times and haven't seen a foul yet that deserved to be called on DG. Straight robbed. 17 I really thought we were going to win the whole thing and then the Oregon game happened, in the Sprint Center. Man these are tough to relive
Did he sign with an agent too?
Mark Smith wyd. Going from Methzu to Kansas St.
of course smh
Jonas Aidoo back on the market. The perfect backup to Dave.. Figure the sharks will be coming for him this time around

We did just have a team made up of guys that stuck around. That team lost in the 2nd round. Always a catch 22. If that same core stays maybe we get even better teams the next 2 years with an influx of talent via the High School and transfer market. I think that is what Self is really trying to get. He needs 1-2 guards and then whatever else shakes off the tree.
Tyty Washington can move the needle. A transfer like McKissic would give us bench shooting and defense. I think he looks to fill specific needs like having another pg with Harris and then something else to compete and get away from forcing wings to be guards which Braun and Agbaji are. We shall see. Its gonna be interesting
Not really. Garrett and Agbaji were the only returning players who averaged more than 20 minutes per game in the 19-20 season. We have a lot more returning minutes next season (Agbaji and Braun over 30, Wilson and Dave over 20, and Thompson and Harris over 15).
A young point guard would be great, and maybe another guard that can fill an Isaiah Moss type role. I'm excited about next season's team, but it's mostly because I believe in player development and team chemistry and think that there is a lot of good talent on the current KU roster.
Absolutely agree about player development and chemistry. That should improve if a majority of this core returns. An offseason will help there as well, pick up, S&C, etc. Any time you possibly can return 4 of your 5 top scorers you have a really good chance to build something.
My issue is I don't believe those 4 guys are good enough. Just calling it how I see it. We may disagree which is totally fine, I think its a good discussion to have about the projection of next years team anyway (we are in the long offseason now). Dave, Ochai, Christian, Jalen have big enough flaws in their game to be worried one offseason won't correct enough of it. Don't get me wrong I think if all 7 rotation guys return we're very capable of winning the Big-12 and having a better W/L record, getting a Top 2 seed but I'm worried without a talent infusion the ceiling of this team is not that much higher in March.
It's hard to win games and even harder when your go-to offensive talent is on the floor just over half the game. We have to hope Dave has one heck of an offseason. Agbaji did make improvements in his perimeter shot, maybe he's got another leap but he is coming up on year 4 without ball handling skills that would make him one of the games premiere scorers. His defense slipped as well, probably a direct result of having to shoulder more offensive load and playing heavy minutes. Agbaji is career 43% fg shooter, Braun 40%, Wilson, not a consistent shooter from anywhere on the court, Thompson 35%. The bottom two especially concerning considering they were our top rated recruits in their respective classes. Self saying they needed to get bigger and more athletic is only half of it, you also need guys that can put the ball in the basket. The drop off from Dave & Ochai to the bench was a big problem. Currently Self doesn't really have an answer for those two guys backups going into next season. We signed 3 bigs so far and its hard to be confident any of them will be ready to contribute in a serious role right now. They are talented, they have differing skill sets but its a big unknown. TGF is gone and I think 1-2 more spots are likely opening up as well.
Another PG is a must have at this point. And Self is aggressively seeking one. I also think he wants another combo guard and hopes they are good enough to start or push the young Harris/Thompson duo. Adding two guards also could solve the issue Self has with Agbaji/Braun. They have redundant skill sets. Braun would be a great rotation wing, did well as a freshman as a 6th man type. He never looked fully comfortable playing big minutes and really struggled offensively. That would give Self potentially 6 guard/wings to distribute minutes too. Let's see how it all plays out
Portal hits over 1,000. About 20 off last years total now and its March. Might push 1300 to 1500 when its all said and done.
Notables from yesterday
David Jenkins Jr- UNLV, guy is a straight up bucket getter. Avg 16 as a freshman, 19 as a soph, 14 this season in first year with UNLV. Seems like one that could follow his previous coach to Iowa St.
Jamison Battle commits to Minnesota- Leading scorer on George Washington.
South Alabama picks up their 6th big transfer getting Jay Jay Chandler from Texas A&M.
Keondre Montgomery- Mississippi St
Kellen Grady picks Kentucky, ugh
Syracuse loses Robert Braswell & John Bol Agok. Braswell was a rotation player this season
Nysier Brooks continues the fire sale at Miami making him the 5th player to transfer
Which is code for perfect self guard
And likely a bad shooter lol
Definitely was a one track mind on the court for the most part. Don't think he was healthy for a lot of the season either but its hard to find a jumpshot in need of so much work

Agree those 2 guys are considerably better then bates at this stage. Athletic ability is on another planet for them too
