Griffen, it would be nice if you got into this game. We need someone to step up with KJ in foul trouble
I hate refs
Back to back big Plays by Flory. Harris so far is playing at a high level
Hunt left his shooting in Lawrence
Wow hunt that was awful
Dog ate his homework
As good of a start as you could ask!
Getting Fran this early is a classic troll job by ESPN
Wow his impact for the season just took a nosedive
Uconn getting a game from Colorado right now. McNeeley is out hurt.
Control the boards and make shots. I know we have left a bunch of points off the board by missing good open looks so far but I guess that's to be expected with so many new pieces.
This is a game we need both Griffen and Storr to be impactful and consistent. Not sure we have seen that yet from both at the same time but those are the two guys we need their athletic and playmaking ability to come through playing Duke
You can at least bank on the ref part. Hopefully it won't be a deciding factor though.
Same I watched it again. I don't see where McNeeley did anything but pursue the ball. He didn't push his hands or body into the back of the defender to jump over him, he gets his hand higher then the defender's hand when the ball comes off the rim. Not sure what the offensive player is supposed to do in that situation other than not pursue the ball. To me McNeeley outhustled the other player and got called for it. There was minimal contact which I think is my biggest issue with the call. Should have been a play on but hey it's not KU so I'm fine either way.
Agree on Liam. He's a really good player and wanted him at KU badly but such is life. His fit at Uconn is better then it'd be here.
Watching it live I thought it was bad call. The benefit of replay made it look egregious IMO. I have no love for Hurley's antics with the refs every game and he cost his team a potential win. I did enjoy his meltdown though.

Hurley getting T-d up in last minute of OT of a tied game is not two time championship type of stuff.
I have to say it was a God awful call and I think Self may have reacted similar if it was him in that situation. Replay just makes it look comical.
Almost fainted reading this. I recovered and forgive you. Soon you will be thinking about the next game days before its here
Not favored as the #1 team on a neutral floor. boy they really got a hard one for Flagg
Watching some recent video of Peterson, he's going to challenge to be #1 in the class. Playing at a different level then his peers
While I like the look as well I'm actually concerned about foul trouble with both big's on the floor.
It needs some work, but the potential is there on both ends. The biggest thing defensively is that Flory and Hunt cannot camp in the lane at the same time so if there's a stretch 4 on the floor that's an issue. I pointed this out in the Mich St game how it was an issue, KU just got lucky the stretch 4 missed all his 3's. On offense, just about every possession I can recall has ended up with a Hunt/Flory dunk. Hunt's passing ability if he's in the high/low action has been deadly so far.
Assume they are working the logistics of this possibility.
Yup self said he will rest a few days and then get back to it
Juando that was awesome
Well it looked bad but I guess
Did not come back from halftime warmups. Praying it's just a tweak or sprain
Alright that's better
Afraid to ask
Yikes rebounding
Shooting 50% but no doubt we are missing a lot of shots they are capable of hitting.
Just gotta make more shots. They are definitely a decent team but we are making them look great by not taking care of business on offense. No rhythm it seems tonight
Hunt misses a lot of those
Man
Ft defense has been great this yr outside UNC🤣
Offense needs to step up. Too many missed open looks
I think there's something to the fact that KJ is an exceptional two feet leaper which is why you see just about all his dunks where he's had time to gather and power up. Perhaps that same concept applies to when he's rebounding and loses some of that athletic advantage since boarding is not just how high you can jump but other things like instinct and want to. I seem to remember as a freshman KJ crashed the boards hard on offense and was a part of some key tip outs/boards at critical times. Those hustle plays and playing defense were a big part of why he saw the floor at end of game situations etc.
Absolutely agree, we all love KJ. He's made improvements in a lot of areas in his career and became a critical starter for Bill the last 3 years. We know what he's going to give us. Seeing him smile and the way he responds to questions after the game on Saturday, hard not to root for him. His Sr day with Juan is going to be a tearful one.
Not used to having guys outside of Harris that know what they are doing with the ball. Mayo being a legit playmaker and not just shooting the ball has been a real pleasant surprise. His film showed this but seeing him doing it against everyone so far has given me a lot of confidence in our playmaking ability. Harris was responsible for it all last yr and now we have at least 2 guys that are really skilled at getting guys good shots
Yeah it's bizarre. Coming out of high school there was videos of him training with older dudes and he was hitting 3's. It just doesn't seem to be natural for him to shoot outside the paint. His free throw form is the best it's been in his 4 yrs here and hopefully he's a guy that can make high 60's, low 70's this year. At this point that's where my focus is on with his shooting, make your free ones at a good enough clip and we will be fine. We have enough guys to stretch the defense
Good looks right on target. No worries. He's so important to this team
Disagree he's playing too many. Play your depth, injuries happen, if you can minimize the risk of injury with some of the guys right now for the long haul you do it. Injuries and guys getting worn down from too many minutes is a real thing that has happened to Hunt, Juan and KJ. We have 10 that belong, figure it out
Love to see KJ SMILE
Not a lot of these kinda games left on the schedule where we can play 10-11. Enjoying
Great passing leads to a Kease 3. That was pretty
Storr in his bag
Storr is a lot like Terrance Shannon. Another year from now he might be a complete stud
Ha Flory.
Yeah that was sick
Mayo has such a high IQ for the game. His pump fakes and hesitations are a beauty to watch and it's always in control and has this smoothness. Plays like that are high level
Espn I guess doesn't show the score anymore. Amateur Hour
Nice pass Kease
