I thought that was great locker room motivation
Let's do this!!!
As expected big pro ku crowd
Thanks to the CBS idiots picking against us yet again
30 minutes or so...
I've been nervous since the Loyola tip last night. About normal though. Just over 4 hrs to go..
I agree. I'm not as well versed with Clemson as I have been with a lot of other teams. Part of that is I didn't expect them to make it this far and I've always felt they have overachieved a good amount all season long. Their coach was definitely on the proverbial hot seat coming in so kudos to him for bringing this bunch together.
Not to be cocky or too confident but KU should win tonight. I don't even think we need our "A" game to win unless Clemson carries over the Auburn magic. I think we can win with a similar effort to the Seton Hall game but who knows, the stakes are a bit higher now so I'm not about to think too hard about it.
I just hope we show up from the start. No slow start, guys look engaged, energetic and ready to go. Not tense and tight like we've seen way too much in the past in the 2nd weekend games. I hope that Graham is a big reason why that doesn't happen as his leadership and character has been a big contributing factor all season long to our success. I know he's not ready for the ride to end and either am I. The stars seem to be aligning for this team to keep going.
Yup, now KU must win to keep up.
Maybe all the ducks will align and we'll see the Big-12 go 3-0 today..
Most FSU fans wanted Ham fired btw before this...
Now what do they do?
It was a painful game to watch. I get it, the refs had their hands all over it.
Up to PJ to step up and make em. We would be doing the same if it was Azubuike or Garrett at the line bricking shots all night.
One sane fan did post this is response to their conspiracy that the ref's f'd them over.
*So your conspiracy theory is that the refs fouled out half the K-State rotation in an effort to ensure that a 65% free throw shooter would get 20+ free throws?
You understand how stupid that conspiracy sounds right? In a game where UK dug themselves a huge hole to start the game, and then followed it up with an 8 minute field goal drought... you are trying to blame the refs for free throws and fouling out K-State's team?
That must have taken a couple whole rolls of tin foil to come up with that conspiracy. That's some pizza-gate, lizard people, Elvis is still alive crap right there.*
Kentucky fans are actually blaming the refs for the reason they lost. It doesn't take a genius to know they shot 15 more FT's then K-St.

@BeddieKU23 Where would Antonio McDyess errr Lard be going?
I think that front court would be enough btw.
I don't know. ISU board has put out some chatter he doesn't like school, part of the reason it took him a 1 1/2 years to play in the first place. He can certainly up his pro potential coming back. He'd be a dominate post with more experience and development. Who knows who's in his ear or what he thinks.
Wow that would be a huge blow for them. He'd be one of the best post players not in Lawrence in the league next year. I'd consider taking him over Wade because defense.
I saw Wigginton declared for the draft wow.
Weak draft for guards. I expect he'll try and get info and get to the combine and then come back for one more year.
Getting minimal done at work today. How does everyone pass the time?
Feeling pretty confident about tonight. Hopefully we have something good to celebrate tonight

Iowa State, Oklahoma, Baylor and TCU should all be considering the transfer route to get some help for next year with a grad transfer. The Big 12 as a whole could get some decent reinforcements via transfer for next season. The Big 12 really needs another nationally strong contender to help validate the conference.
Looking at the rosters at the moment Baylor looks like the team in desperate need of talent. They need 2-3 impact players on the perimeter. Lindsey & McClure are not starter material in my opinion and they have nothing else besides an incoming juco player.
I have no idea what's going on with Makai Mason, the once darling of Yale who played one game this year but has had issues recovering from an injury he suffered nearly two years ago. He reportedly said he'd transfer to Baylor a while back as a grad transfer as the Ivy league doesn't allow post grad players to play. They are also after a Memphis area PG in Tyler Harris. They definitely need an influx of talent.
I could see Iowa St going after a transfer big to play immediately. Right now they have Lard (if he stays), Solomon Young, Nebraska transfer Jacobsen and incoming freshman with long-term potential Conditt . They look set on the perimeter with 7 guys as long as Wigginton doesn't stay in the draft.
TCU is actually one over on scholarships at the moment. A deep team potentially that just has to figure out who's their starting 5 man. They have about 5 options to choose from. Dixon has that program poised for another step forward.
OU is definitely on the hunt for perimeter transfers. They are in the running for Calixte from Maine so far. If no one else leaves they have 1 to give. I think we see some roster movement though. Wouldn't be surprised if Freeman or Doolittle went somewhere else. They have too many guys playing the same position. Unless that nucleus gets a lot better in the absence of Young OU is poised for a big step back regardless of talent they add.
I wouldn't be surprised if Oklahoma St went after grad transfers with a few spots available. A post player would seem to be the biggest need. They had success with Smith this past year going that route.
If Zhaire Smith goes pro I think Texas Tech goes after immediate post talent. They have a need for at least two post players.
Epic game chat fellows! I feel like I lived that K-St UK game.
Yeah he might have to explore his options here if he doesn't find a good option overseas. I would hope if we have room for someone it will be looking towards the future. I am hoping Langford joins the frey for next yr.
He was much improved this yr and certainly could be expected to be even better if he joined a school like KU.

@BeddieKU23 Is Yurtseven a take if he wants to come here?
Going overseas to play professionally.
So to answer your question I don't think he'll be a take for anyone
Joseph Chartouny of Fordham transfering and will be immediately eligible. Only reason mentioning him is because he led the nation in steals per game and total steals. Also averaged 12 ppg, 5 boards, 5 assists Sounds like he's a thief expert and has a stat sheet stuffing type ability
Transfer list 200+ and we haven't even hit April!
Not surprising but Jacob Young transferring from Texas. Talk about a kid mishandled by Shaka, he's living proof. Will end up somewhere and be good his final 2 years.
I also wouldn't be surprised if Eric Davis wasn't on the team next year either. He was never re-instated after his name popped up with Andy Miller..
Wake Forest loses its 4th player due to transfer. This one is a big one as Keyshawn Woods will graduate and transfer. Averaged 12 ppg this season.
Ugh another poorly thought out request
Still hasn't beaten KU in the Big-12. How many years will it take Texas Administration to figure that out
Anfernee Simons as expected skips college and declares for the draft
Not surprising. URI losing a ton of guys Hurley developed. He'll turn them around in time.

Bryce Thompson (2020 recruit whose dad played for Self at Tulsa) is shooting up the rankings.
That's a big jump and with Self after him early have to think we are sitting great there.
RJ Hamption #3. Boss
Jalen Green is a freak
One of my early favorites from this class is surprisingly under ranked at this point. Noah Farrakhan a PG from IMG. To this point I don't think KU has really reached out to him. I think they should
Pitt saying miller not a candidate
Having read your post I went and dug through Clemson's losses this year starting from around the time their best player went down with injury figuring that would give me the best baseline for where this team is at.
Obviously box scores can only tell you so much but North Carolina was the only team that shot over 50% from the field, made a ton of 3's and beat them. They lost a lot of their other games having bad shooting games or in the same game having the other team shoot poorly as well.
It seems they have lost more then their share of close games, something KU is well versed in this year.
Obviously we don't want to start off shooting poorly in the game Friday. We didn't start off the game that well against Seton Hall either but a couple of momentum swinging 3's towards the end of the first half seemed to key what was a really good 2nd half offensively for KU. We've seen that time and time again this year as well, struggling, digging a hole and then one or two plays triggers a run. I'd rather KU keep control of this game as much as they can but if we are in a situation where we are struggling I will remain calm knowing these guys have been put in this pressure situation time and time again this season.
I will be watching closely to see which Hawks get going early. Devonte, Vick, Newman seem to play at a higher level when they are making shots especially if they make the first one. Svi has had a knack all season long for forgetting his last shot so I generally don't worry too much about him.
I think we have three big advantages in this game. Perimeter shooting, Devonte's leadership, and Azubuike's size advantage in the post. To me this seems like a game where all three of those things will be too much for Clemson to overcome.
Yes they sometimes close the schools a day in advance of the storm and its happened multiple times where kids have missed school without any snow actually falling. Anytime Nor'easter starts making the news, schools start panicking. I have a feeling once my son gets old enough I'm going to really feel the pain of this issue.

@BeddieKU23 I'm actually somewhat surprised by it. Still dislike Greggggg though.
Must have been having a bottle with slow gin lynn while he talked to him. It is surprising especially since he'll end up in the same conference playing them every year.
Seen that chatter on the AZ board. Didn't know how much validity there was too it. If your Pitt why would you even touch him with what's looming on him
It was nice of Greg to let him go play for his coach and mentor without any issues.
I know the parents are not happy either. A lot of school days have been canceled over the threat of a big storm instead of waiting for it to actually hit. I can think of at least 3 days that have had cancellations and there wasn't even any snow on the ground by noon. The decision making process has gotten soft compared to what it was even 10-15 years ago.
I've felt confident with Romeo for a while. The more I've watched his games this year the more excited I get envisioning him here with what we have coming back and coming in. I would take Malik coming back to anchor the team but if he's leaving Romeo is absolutely the best option out there.
I agree with all of it. Smith is really good and would only get better with the guys they have leaving creating a bigger role for him. I think he's in a good position to take advantage of "while the iron is hot" though and an athlete like that can contribute at the next level without being a finished product.
It's been a long time since I've wanted an underclassmen to move on as much as I want Konate to leave. Classless player. Doesn't belong
NC St big man Yurtseven has been released from the team and will go overseas it looks
I approve of this message

Sounds like he was getting forced out. Then probably became a distraction and so Bob told him to move along early.
Ouch, that was a lot of tweets. Explains the early exit. Not a good look for either side regardless
It seems Pitt is offering him 3 million reasons a year to go there as well.
The one thing I would note is Kevin Stallings didn't get 4 years before they canned him. And coming into Pitt with a decimated team and zero ACC quality players coming back your looking at a lose-lose situation right off the bat unless Hurley can recruit transfers and get lucky in the spring recruiting game. This is as bad of a situation as being hit heavy by NCAA sanctions. Unprecedented transfer numbers and a total lack of returning players that fit the league. Tough to take on.
Having said that the Pitt fan-base would embrace someone like Hurley that could come in and make any progress. It's truly amazing the void Dixon left and the fallout that has ensued because of it. Pitt administration should be ashamed of themselves. And if I'm a prospective coach having to work under that same regime I would seriously reconsider
Absolutely.
Honestly I don't think KU has to play any better then they did against Seton Hall to win.
We shot the ball extremely well in the 2nd half and needed to because Seton Hall kept fighting. This was all while our Senior Leader had an off shooting game and our starting C was playing only 3-4 minutes at a time due to injury/foul trouble. We were beaten up on the boards and yet still controlled the game.
However as you said this is the Sweet 16 and we just don't know what's going to happen in this situation. In the past Self teams have done extremely well in this round, Self always game-plans well and the players seem to execute with the time to prepare. We're also playing in a KU friendly arena where it should be a heavy KU crowd.
We have the experience edge, talent edge, coaching edge, better overall team. We should and expect to win. I hope that is the case
Watching the Texas Tech vs Florida game the announcers were saying Zhaire Smith will probably enter the draft as well. He would test off the charts and have to think he's played himself into the first round easily. Could be a huge loss for Texas Tech at season's end.
I'm also hoping punkate from WVU declares.
FYI Mo Bamba declared for the draft.
Also Lindell Wigginton has decided to enter but will not hire an agent. I think he'll get invited to the Combine which can help him. I have a feeling he returns for his Soph year on what should be a better ISU team and leaves after next year.
Delgado was an exceptional rebounder. He exploited Lightfoot and others. His advantage was well noted before the game because of Doke's injury.
Thomas is the best rebounder on Clemson and pulls in 8 a game overall, 2 offensive boards a game FYI. Nobody else even averages 1 a game.
Clemson as a team is 259th in the country in offensive rebounding, KU gets more offensive rebounds then they do by a good margin.
A big key to the game will be how many minutes Azubuike can play without fouling. It sounds like they are expecting him to start and play closer to 30 minutes if he's smart and isn't dead tired.
They are a guard heavy team since the injury to their best player who's out for the season.
KU is considerably better in almost every offensive statistic compared to Clemson. We have no idea if Clemson's hot shooting against Auburn carries on or not. Their stats would say they will regress closer to their mean which isn't very good.
Clemson has survived all year on good defense (top 30 in points per game). They are 8th in the country in 2pt FG% defense but 178th in 3pt FG % and 209th in 3pt FG's given up. We all know KU's strength is perimeter shooting which is a big weakness KU can exploit. They don't foul a ton and don't get steals so its interesting that Clemson has defended as well as they have. I think the numbers don't tell the whole story. This team is just 9-6 since Donte Grantham went down with an injury.
This is a game KU can win considerably easier then some may think if they play well

@Kcmatt7 suns could work. Would be great if they could come up with a package to get a good big as well, because they really need one. Chriss is a headcase, Bender is meh, Len is meh, Chandler is ancient. Maybe they could deal Elfrid Payton, Brandon Knight and any of their young meh bigs guys for someone with more upside.
Bingo. Suns whiffed hard with bigs. Now do they go after a difference maker on defense with a lot of offensive potential in La La Bamba or someone like Carter/Bagley/Jackson and continue the streak
I think Uconn is going to hope the NCAA hammers Ollie for recruiting violations which will vindicate their "just cause" firing. There was more to this situation then just the poor performance of the past few seasons for them. I imagine Ollie and program will be facing some penalties (unknown how severe) but I've heard that they were caught and it made firing him easy after.
West Virginia's D'Angelo Hunter will transfer. Odd timing seems how they are still playing. Played as recently as the Big-12 championship game
Baylor's Tyson Jolly will transfer
Wichita St incoming PG Alex Lomax has been released from his LOI. Will follow Penny to Memphis
Iowa's Brady Ellingson will be a grad transfer.
Cal's Don Coleman will transfer- Was their leading scorer. Had 35 in a game against Wichita St earlier this year.
OU after Maine grad transfer Aaron Calixte. Averaged 16 pts a game on a terrible team
About 3 hours from the coast but every storm that has hit recently has been brutal for snowfall totals. A town a few miles away got over 4 feet in higher elevations. It's been hit or miss lately here as far as big storms but this year has definitely been "hit" and in the wrong month as usually we are done with snow by now. Kids have missed so many days of school they are going into July now.
The more Langford waits until April the more I like our chances as you said. And if guys leave that we suspect might be we'll have a lot of minutes to give him
