He's really really good at it.
Definitely has that motor to go get it, been fouled going for a few offensive boards that have gone unnoticed by these blind refs
Silvio is our only rebounder
Need to get hot to trot Newman going

Interior defense has been the issue. Our guards are playing alright except for doubling the post.
Agree they have also missed a ton of shots

We are lucky that Bruce pulled My Ween.
Looking like wilt chamberlain as always
Graham saved the day
Can't guard nothing
Graham needs to take way better care of the ball. Just keep pounding away at an, no excuses with 2 guys out
That's about as soft a 4 minutes of d as we can allow

We suck in KC. SUREFIRE LOSS. Stone cold lead pipe lock it in. :joy:
The Game's over (even before it started)
I predict your thinking 1st round loss as a #1 or #2? It worked yesterday
BShark said:
I'm predicting a Brucemas miracle and KSU wins. Barry Brown will go for 30+.
I see what your doing there!
BShark said:
KSU only has 7 wins against KU since 1990. That's kind of crazy. With the way this season has gone, KSU will probably bring that total to 8 tonight. It would also be their first win against KU in the B12 tournament.
I don't see them beating us without their best player. He's the one guy that played like Kendall Smith playing us. Having said that Jatta will probably make 5 3's and Mawien will have a career night

@KUSTEVE Let me put it this way - I'm a pretty big KU fan. I had FF on my brain from way before the season began. After seeing us lose Billy Preston, multiple home games and lose to OSU twice - I personally don't feel we're Final Four material. With the almost unbeatable teams we've had in the past we are extremely prone to early upsets - I want to get there, I want to win the whole thing. I just don't think this is the team to do it.
Here's my challenge to the team - PROVE ME WRONG.
They( the team) proved me wrong yesterday. They have made a habit of it this season. Even our unbeatable teams have went home sulking. Maybe this one will do the unexpected. Need Doke back to do it though
Kansas St announced in a press release that Bruce Weber will be extended through 2032 and receive a $15,000 pay increase for losing his Star player Dean Wade to injury before Semi-Final action against rival Kansas. Kansas St administration wanted to assure fans worried about the future of their program after a narrow win Thursday in Quarterfinal action against TCU saying " We feel Weber has earned this 14 year extension", "he coaches hard" and "has earned the trust of his players and fans". "we are confident Bruce Weber will one day have no excuses who the best coach in Kansas is".
Insert__ Kansas St player(s) after having to listen to Weber all year. It's a yearly thing ya know
Mark Smith from Illinois, one time KU target
James Scott from Kennesaw State is transferring. Presumably transferring up. Averaged 17 ppg this year.
Unlikely KU will be involved but I'm sure some will end up on Big-12 teams. Post em all! The off-season is long

Should we start a thread for transfers in and out of programs?
He even made a shot or two. Agree with all his activity was at least a step in the right direction. Keeping him motivated game to game, is a game to game management

@BeddieKU23 I don't want Newman running the point for KU. That's not a strength of his. He's much more effective offensively when he's playing off the ball.
I don't want him running point either and he wouldn't. We signed a 5 star for that
BShark said:
They are talking about UNC possibly getting a 1 seed, so this KU team definitely has a shot...
Not a great year honestly.
That's just ESPN choking on themselves as usual. If they didn't talk them up they'd have to talk up Kentucky and then circle back to Duke. Well they probably already have..

@BeddieKU23 Dude (I assume?) I am scared to death about the #16 thing. Seriously. We have NO business being a #1 seed, and if we actually are, i feel it's a set up by the powers that be to make sure that Kansas is the first number one to be taken down by a 16.
We've set some records this year - 1st Self team to get swept by a big 12 opponent, 1st Kansas team to get beaten 78 times in a row in a single season in Lawrence (Hyperbole is my friend). I DON'T want to set this other new record.
You assumed correctly.
I am scared about everything especially without Azubuike. We survived one game where there was incentive (revenge) to not let Oklahoma St punk us a 3rd time. We should be equally motivated today playing the Purps and the squeaky bandit. I mean its 6 on 5 on the court, literally, as Bruce squeaks 5 feet in from his boundary circle.
Likely-hood of us losing to a #16 seed? Statistically zilch. Unwritten rule, not happening.
I think if we win the Big-12 tourney despite the injury setback we deserve to be rewarded although sitting in the #2 spot in Xavier's bracket looks like a cozy spot to have as opposed to being put in the West where they will load up the bracket to beat us..

@BeddieKU23 I worry about opponents when they're not named K-State.
That's fine we own Brucey.
I do expect you, however to worry twice as much about our opponents next week even if its a #16 seed

@BeddieKU23 my guess is mid-April. We (and Romeo) will have a much better idea of what all 3 rosters will look like heading into next season, and what kind of role he’d have on each team. Still think KU if Vick (and probably Malik) leave.
Ideal scenario for me is still Vick and Cunliffe depart, we land Romeo, and Malik stays to run some point, add some experience, and be our best shooter.
I would take that scenario in a heartbeat. I believe Romeo is the last piece to what could potentially be one of Self's best teams.
Big fan of Vick but not this years Vick and I'm at peace if he pursues a professional career.
I prefer Malik back to guide the young'ns and become the next in line guard that Frank & Devonte paved for him.

TRUTH - It bugs the living crap out of me that we're spending this much time talking about an opponent. ESPECIALLY A K-STATE PLAYER. For the love of all that is holy...........
I'm worried that your not worried about our opponent!
I'm not sure how long the state playoffs for Langford will last but he may still be playing close to the Burger game. They wanted to visit IU one more time as well. They haven't officially scheduled a date yet so there's still a chance he doesn't visit but at the moment I think this recruitment is going into April and he'll announce when the spring period is live
Kansas St is in the tourney, no need to risk your best player now if you have a chance to have him healthy to play next week.

I guess Squeaky does not need to blame the refs now...
Right he's got an injury to blame now. Maybe he'll blame Azubuike while he's at it for causing a chain reaction
radio is confirming Wade is unlikely to play. Matt Tait just tweeted it as well. Will have to keep monitoring

Didn’t KU lost the previous 3 official games at the Sprint Center before yesterday? BTW, MU was not an official game.
The Washington game earlier was a loss at the SC. Before the Oregon game we had creamed Purdue by 30+ in the same building
Bad things happen in the sprint center like pissing down our legs against Oregon in the Elite 8

@BeddieKU23 The funny thing about the Larry Bird comments is that Wade is actually really damn good but he is nothing like Larry. Completely different attitude and style. If anything Wade often doesn't shoot enough. Larry Bird averaged 23 shots a game in college...
He is good and If I remember correctly it was a person who knows the Wade family that started the comparison right? The absurdity of it makes it still laughable today. Wade will be a terror next year for the Big-12 but I've always thought having shot happy Brown has limited his impact just a bit.

I linked to a credible reporter on it in the injury thread.

Yup svi pushed when we would have gotten the board and carroll gets a layup from it
Not sure why we don't double Solomon on catch or front him he starts their offense
Time to zone em up
