I can not explain how much I dont wanna lose to squeak and silo tech tomorrow, pretty solid outing outside of the first 8 minutes. Malik was great, Vick was defending superb, I think I counted 7 defections for him. Good for Mitch and Silvio to get PT, it wasnt always pretty but they need it.

Malik has been building towards a game like this for a while. If he stays consistently aggressive getting into the paint, that could change KU's tournament trajectory. Newman is not a spot up jump shooter. I don't understand why he tries to be, when he's so dynamic getting to the rim.

@Buster-1926 Bshark is a great fan of KU. He prefers to be pleasantly surprised when we win. To each his own.

Part of it is this current team. I wasn't surprised when the 97, 02, 03, 08, 10, 11 etc... teams won.

@BShark We don't have the talent or the depth we normally have, but doesn't mean it's not possible. 1988 was the Alpha/Omega on that ...a 6 seed. I was watching newman today, and thinking..where has that been? I almost think we've spent so much time getting Doke his looks, we've neglected our best play maker.

@KUSTEVE Necessity breeds invention. Even with the 4 out 1 in you know Self loved it when Doke was fed. And to be fair he set the conference record for fg%. If Malik can keep it up and Doke gets healthy enough, this team could be pretty dangerous.

That 1988 team was simply a left over shell of a great team, and Danny. I mean, they had practically nothing beyond Danny. Chris Piper, Milt Newton and the rest were left over spare parts from the days of Calvin Thompson, Kellog, and the bunch. It's possible.

@BShark I think today showed we can feed the post by letting Newman drive to the lane. A good back screen can work just as good as a dunk.

We out scored them in the post.

I just hope Newman keeps it up. His drives lead to good results usually and OSU is pretty athletic.

I’m still just so Impressed with how well Silvio played. That game by him yesterday was so important when it comes to us winning a championship.
