Right, I would play Young big minutes too if he was on our team. I want that 3 point threat on the floor as much as possible.

There are concerns on how good Trae will be defensively. He needs to add weight/muscle mass and he's not a great athlete although he is sneaky in the lane. If Trae had the athletic ability of Duval, he'd probably be the #1 player in the class because I don't think people realize how hard it is to guard Young with his ability to shoot the ball. Matt Coleman touched on this before saying Trae was the hardest to guard because of his shooting

The UCLA match-up should be a good game, fast pace but its in Rupp. I think Cal is 124-4 at Rupp. Unlikely they lose at home where the whistle will be in their favor. UCLA will have to match guard play and if they are smart will zone Kentucky to force outside shots. Ball vs Fox- exciting to see 2 future NBA PG's go at it. It should be a fairly close game if UCLA comes to play on the road

Welcome Lagerald Vick. X factor on this team. Simply was awesome on both sides of the floor last night. And that shot looks awful good the last 2. Averaging 19 over his last 2 games.

Advice for Self, don't take Vick out of the starting lineup, ever.

The 5 guard assassins: We need a good tag-line for these 5 guards. They are the best collection of perimeter players maybe ever at KU. I know Self is preaching post play- what is post play? We don't need no stinking post play when you got these 5 guys. We just need the tall guys to do their job, rebound, make life difficult for opposing bigs, screen, make the occasional lob. Every game I see these guys becoming like the Nova team that won it last year and past years of guard dominance.

Slight nit-picking of the night: We should have won by 50. Guys got lazy 2nd half, did we feel bad?

Two easy games out of the way. Now Haase comes to town. Should be fun. Travis is a load inside, Pickens is a good 3 land shooter. Two man team, terrible shooting team so far 43% from the field, outside of Pickens 26% 3 land shooter.

I'm also high on Vick and I'm still getting used to seeing him on the floor. I'm really surprised how good of a rebounder he is but then again I'm always amazed at what Frank does on defensive rebounds as well.

I do think Vick is a much better shooter then he's shown, just had early season struggles adjusting to playing minutes. He's had good looks and it was nice to see those 3's go in the last game. If he can make the 3 in the 36-40% range by year's end he's going to be a good one.

I think Vick has a good chance of being drafted in the 1st round because he'll stand out athletically and he's got a long wingspan so he can play a little bit bigger than 6'5 which he's already proving he can. Next year he'll be one of the 3 feature players on the team which will give him the chance to stand-out on his own and I have no problem projecting that he'll thrive with more responsibility and pressure to perform. We'll see but I'm excited to keep seeing this guy play
