They don't seem to be playing a traditional man to man.
They are deliberately packing the lane, sliding a 2nd defender on any ball handler

125/150. Most notable baffling misses were Drew Gooden & Julian Wright of recent. Was just a young'n in some of the earlier years on there
Red unis tonight, "reverse retro"
I keep thinking this is going to be a fun one. Would love to see a dominant performance
The streak is 39, hopefully to be 40
Damn but announcing after visiting us, would seem like we at least influenced that?
I'm hopeful he does stick in the NBA. I think his competitiveness, his confidence & combination of skills at his size are what appeal to scouts this year that wasn't so apparent last year. He's got the mindset of a pro already and that will make a difference, same as it did for Ochai going through his Sr year and draft process. I'm not counting J-Will out that's for sure.
I did some early scouting of the portal, and I didn't come up with a lot of great options for replacing the trio right now. Self has had a lot more success with transfers from P5 schools, so I gave up looking for good players on mid-majors. When the portal gets cooking it will be a lot easier to focus on.
Since College Ball is down overall, the available good player pool might actually shrink this year. There's going to be less 5th and 6th year guys floating around as those guys continue to exhaust their covid eligibility. In Self we trust as usual this offseason.
It was cool hearing Self admit he messed up on the J-Will recruitment. Jalen wanted to commit, Self cooled, he then committed to Michigan then the stars aligned where it worked out again. We could have lost an All-American to Michigan!
I still remember me and @BShark saying this kid was going to be a stud in College when he was ranked in the 50'sish playing at Denton. It's crazy seeing how he blew those projections out of the water.
@dylans said in Kev/Jalen Last Home Game:
@BeddieKU23 I will miss Jalen! It was great watching him go from redshirt to the star player on the team!!! I have much love for anyone that puts that much work and effort into being a Jayhawk!!!
One year players are hard to remember a year or two down the line. I almost forgot about Remmy the other day it took me an hour to figure out who he was at the game. McCullar will be the same way. I’ll forget about him by the end of next year. Gradey…well I still remember Xavier so I’m betting I remember him vaguely in a decade.
Of course, it's different with players like J-Will. He's been here 4 years and we've seen him grow into an All-American. J-Will will never be forgotten in my book.
Certain 1 year guys are easier to remember then others. I think Kev will be remembered for a while by many, we certainly knew who he was previously from his 3 years at Tech. Personally, I'm going to remember him forever because of how seamless his fit was on this team. I've said it over and over but it's extremely rare that a player could come in for one year and be remembered like he spent his career here and I think Kevin has that opportunity. He continues to impress me.
Remy was a polarizing player and then he did what he did in March. I'll aways remember what he helped this team do. I'm also going to remember the dynamic he had with Self. 10 years ago, Remy might have never played a minute here with his character, but this version of Self has come a long way to adapting and finding balance. We are truly spoiled.
Self mentioned on Hawk Talk last night that plans for renovations to Allen Fieldhouse could be announced in the next week or so.
Don't know if it's been mentioned but Marcus may actually end up in 23 class (his original class). If that happens, I think we have an even better shot given J-Will, Gradey & Kev are moving on from the wing. Adams is physically ready for the next level
Really haven't mentally prepared for watching J-Will's last home game here. Then add in Kev and Gradey, yeah, I'm going to be a mess tonight.
Harris will graduate in May but will be returning to KU. Mentioned 2 more years!
Awesome News!
Damn now that hits hard
Yeah he's big time. Not sure we really have a chance there due to his school etc but shoot your shot!
FYI KU is 2-0 in those uni's & averaged 94 ppg.
LOL.
The Athletic has another good piece on the Miller situation. While I'm not a fan of Dana O'Neil it has some good points.

Recap of Marcus Adams visit. Michael Swain reports:
He said he really, really enjoyed it. The game was his favorite part and he’s never been in an arena that loud. He likes KU’s playing style and the coaches told him he’d fit the Gradey Dick or Jalen Wilson role at KU. Gradey Dick was also his host and said he got along really well with the current players. He liked Lawrence, the coaches and the atmosphere around the program.
Big picture, one interesting thing he said is that he wants to announce a top three soon and commit before summer grassroots basketball starts. He said he for sure wants to visit UCLA. It sounded like KU and UCLA are for sure in his top group. The third school could come from Syracuse (where he visited), Texas, Arkansas or Indiana.
Apologies for missing this one.
5 star SG Isaiah Elohim made an official visit to KU over the weekend. Plays ball with Bronny James at Sierra Canyon. This guy is big time.
This was Isaiah's first official visit.
That is the loudest gym I have ever been in for sure," Elohim said. "The visit went very well. I like the home court advantage the most. The coaching staff told me the right things and they really want me. They talked about their player development, their winning culture, and what I am going to be when I am there."
With a visit to Lawrence under his belt, Elohim says he is considering Arkansas, Baylor, and UCLA for official visits.
Here's so more fun stats after the West Virginia Game.
KU is 10-0 when shooting 50% from the field this year. 293-12 in the Self Era.
KU improved to 184-26 when scoring 70-70 points & 110-46 when allowing 70-79 points in the Self Era.
Harris moved into a tie with Sherron Collins for 23rd all time on the steals list.
Gradey Dick is now 4th among KU freshman in 3 point makes (71) attempts (170). He's also 9th all time for field goals made with 145.
Bill Self playing on Saturdays- 204-56. Self in February- 126-32. Self on ESPN 183-62.
KU has 12 conference wins for the 23rd straight season. Self has 24 wins in 18 of his 20 seasons at KU.
KU is 8-1 this season in games decided by 5 points or less. 122-52 in Self Era, 48-10 at Allen Fieldhouse.
KU has a 39-game win streak on Senior Night.
Update!
Points-
Jalen moved into 32nd place and now sets his aim at Mario Chalmers for 31st. He needs 22 points on Senior Night to pass him.
Kevin is also closing in on 1,000, he needs 15 points on Senior Night to reach the 1,000 point club.

"There's nothing we could charge him with," Tuscaloosa chief deputy district attorney Paula Whitley told AL.com of Miller's legal exposure"
Paula is an Alabama grad fyi..
I would also add Self abandoned the bench for the most part after the first half. Joe was the only guy to get a shot up I believe of the 4. They had something like 6 turnovers in the first half.
Yeah no doubt West Virginia came in prepared. I thought the 6 offensive fouls in the first half were absolute pace and tempo killers. Horrendous officiating. Them having Johnson back this time makes them tough when they make shots. He did turn the ball over a bunch. They are #1 in offensive rebounding in the conference and got the 50/50 balls.
There was some lapses in focus. The missed free throws from key guys (Jalen especially), the turnover by Gradey late. I think that was the most disappointing thing from yesterday. Hopefully Harris is okay, he was having a top 5 game as a hawk. He was dynamic
That was what we needed for senior night
Wow
Wow way to choke
