Terrible pass by CB. No clue by anyone right now...
Great play after time out...
Totally out hustling us...
We're shooting 53% from the floor and 46% from 3. Feels like we should be up more. Problem is that a smallish OU team is outrebounding us and scoring much more easily inside...

Dave may not have a rebound but he leads the team in assists tonight
Okay, but we pay him to be the leading offensive rebounder, not assist man... ;)
Good start. Not trying to throw cold water, but are only player who has gotten to the line is Mitch. They don't have much size or rim protection - we need to start getting points in the paint and at the FT line...
Both teams shooting over 50% and it's not like anyone is draining shots. Just no interior D on either side...
We haven't gotten a decent shot off in several minutes...
11-0 OU run...
They are getting way too many easy looks at the rim...
No rebounds for Dave. They are not big and Groves is not an inside presence. We should be dominating in the paint. Driving and controlling the boards. No hanging around the perimeter for 3s against this team...
I mentioned this earlier, but I think the key difference is that most of Dave's points came in the flow of the game. We weren't constantly trying to feed the post. I haven't gone back and watched the game, but based on the play-by-play, just 2 or 3 of his buckets were post feeds - including the first score of the game. The rest were put backs after an offensive rebounds, interior passes from our guys penetrating, a transition dunk, and one wide open jumper. That's when Dave is most effective on the offensive end. He is simply an inefficient back to the basket post player. At best, a 50% scorer, who commits too many TOs when trying to score after a feed + the TOs that come with poor entry passes. But, he can be very effective when he is not the primary scoring option. Frees him up to face the basket and go after offensive rebounds.
Wild day in college Bball. Every game in the B12 a slog. No undefeated teams remaining. Only a couple of one loss teams, and one of them, Auburn, is down double digits in the 1st half. No dominant teams.
A different perspective....I think we are a better team with Remy. He is a scoring guard and helps spread the floor. And, he can get his own shot.
BUT, the key to today's game was that we stopped trying to feed the post every possession. I would submit that the reason Dave scored more efficiently, and, related to that, got 10 offensive rebounds, is that he was FACING the basket most of the game, not with his BACK to the basket. He is simply not a good back to the basket big man. We ran a play for him the first play of the game, but very few after that. Did he attempt even one of his awful "start 2 ft from the basket, and then put it on the floor and end up with a 6 ft+ fadeaway semi-hook." I would have to go back and watch the tape, but I believe of his 9 buckets, most came from put backs or drives and dishes. He brings a lot more to the table if he isn't a primary scoring option.
Gonzaga just put up 60 in the first half against a decent Santa Clara team...
Best half of the year (first half not so great). Solid all around games by each of the starters - stat stuffer games. But, we need to get to the line more. And, until empty the bench time, we only had 3 point from non-starters, albeit some solid minutes from Yes and KJ.
Jalen is making shots today, but what I really like to see is the 7 boards, 5 assists and just one TO...
Now up 10 rebounds. The big difference in the second half - mostly controlling the paint...
Strong 2nd half - so far - but we need to get to the foul line a lot more. No excuse for the opponent to have 14 more attempts at AFH. It's been an issue all year...

WVU is 7-35. It's been a long while since they've made a basket...
Don't reverse jinx them my friend
I shouldn't have said anything about it.... ;(
Good pass by Jalen followed by a bad one...
WVU is 7-35. It's been a long while since they've made a basket...
Kentucky has put up 105 with a minute to go....
WVU 7-31. But 12 more points from the FT line.
WVU 14-15 from the FT line...
We broke the 3/10s of a century mark!
Who is going to score for this lineup?????
WVU can't make a shot, but has 10 more points from the FT line....
Good thing KJ got fouled, because I don't think he had a clue what he was going to do...
CB and Ochai 1-9...
WVU is just 6-24 and yet we are down 6....
@Marco He just did for the second time and missed layups on both...
3 points total from our two leading scorers...
Terrible shot by Ochai. He and Jalen are just hanging around the arc waiting to jack one up...
That was just solid defense...
So, will be break 30 by halftime???
They are on a 15-4 run...
Wow, have we not practiced inbounding against pressure. CB picked the worst option there.
Rebounding continues to be a problem. They have more offensive rebounds than we have total. We need Jalen to help on the glass, not setting up 24 feet away from the rim...
All of the sudden we are settling for long shots - and not wide open ones...
But not a good first minute for Bobby...
@BeddieKU23 Should be reviewable...
Northwestern beat Mich St in Lansing...
Ochai needs to take that to the rim...
KSU is going to beat TTU....
UK is going to be challenge. They just put up 52 in the first half on Tennessee, which is a pretty good defensive team. Held a few teams to less than 50 for the game.
@BeddieKU23 Not really that surprising that PERs have dropped so much since conference play started. Our conference opponents, even OSU, are probably 3 of the 4 best teams we've played all season. Certainly the 3 best defensive teams. Our non-conference schedule revealed almost nothing meaningful about this team - other than we could lose to a 6 loss team comprised mostly of freshmen. Most years, we are near the top in Quad 1 wins. Not this year - I think we have just 2 or 3 at this point. Some teams have 10 or more.
