Feel fortunate to be up right now. UK 0-8 from 3pt line. They're not a great shooting team, but they will make some. Need to control the pace and, most importantly, make them foul us when we drive....

Ochai just impacts the game so much more so than Grimes. We need Grimes to get his head right, but......

@KirkIsMyHinrich Indeed - going to have to give minutes to Dave and Mitch, just to soak up fouls and at least make them work a little bit. We simply can't stay with them in the post with both Grimes and Vick in the game....

I don't know that Ochai has better basketball skills than Quentin - shooting and handle - but he without question has much better intangibles and mindset for D1 basketball. He brings more energy and grit - he isn't afraid the of the moment and is more than willing to mix it up and be part of the action. There is something in Quentin's DNA that seems to make him avoid engagement, conflict or contact. He has the size and physique, but plays anything but physical defense. He doesn't position himself for rebounds or put a body on anyone. And, most importantly, his infrequent drives to the basket are timid - he seemingly avoids contact at all costs.
19 minutes on the court against ISU, and almost as if he wasn't there. Zero points (0-4), no rebounds, no assists, even no fouls (credited with one steal). That's hard to do for anyone, especially a 5* player in HS. Seems to be a good kid and with good skill sets, but the energy and toughness aren't there and I don't know if that is something correctable?

Remarkable that we have only 2 FT attempts - esp. as many times as we've taken it downhill - and, at home. No one takes it strong trying to drive, draw a foul and score through contact. All the drives are falling away, hoisted shots...

The bottom line is that we desperately need Silvio to be cleared - not just for rebounding and some interior presence, but also so Vick and Grimes aren't on the floor at the same time...

Man do they pass the ball so much better than we do. Must have a much more experienced, senior laden team that's played together for years. What? 2 freshman guards and 2 transfers? How is that possible???
We simply cannot stop them, even slow them down. They may miss shots, but not because of anything we are doing (or not doing)....
@betterfireE They're not all good defensively - they just run their offense a lot better than we do and get a lot of clean looks...

Garrett is becoming our best offensive threat - which says volumes about the state of the team right now...
