First play looked like too many against ISU....
Our defensive efficiency ratings are going to slide quite a bit off this one...This continues to project as the worst team defensively during the Self era. Being one of the best offensive teams makes up for a lot, but teams with our DER simply don't end up as NCAA champions...

One thing that has definitely hurt us is not finishing on 3 or 4 of the set plays HCBS has called after timeouts...
We've given up 37 points in less than 14 minutes. We seem to play worse defense at home than on the road. Have seen this movie several times this year already...

We're shooting 56% from the field, 50% from 3, 85% on FTs and we have a 21!!!! RB margin - and only up 4. Jeez....
Just no energy or recognition on the defensive end - leaving 3 point shooters wide open on the perimeter...

Just because they can't play defense doesn't mean we shouldn't either....
HCBS obviously didn't give the good halftime speech....
Nice finish - love to see BIFM dish more this year - but, still scoring more...
Just turning on the game now - 7 TOs already? Looks like we've been sloppy with the ball? Especially as ISU doesn't usually force that many...

Not going to claim that he is a great or even very good Xs and Os coach, but what talent? Does he have anyone on this team that was a top 50 ranked player coming in? I'm asking as I don't know, but my guess would be no. Regardless, much less talent than KU, AZ, UNC, Duke, UK and probably many other teams. He's gotten pretty good results out of this bunch and they won 20 six years in a row and made an E8. So, IMO, he doesn't deserve all the flack he gets....

Usual commentary on these threads is KU gets hosed by the refs at home and away. Well, this game at least, we've gotten a lot of calls....

Okay - not really a strong move. It was no better than 50-50 as to whether the shot would be blocked, he would lose possession, or miss the lay-up...
