@ralster The Kentucky/Calipari envy/whining by KU fans is a bit embarrassing, IMO.
That said, I'll laugh harder than anyone if the Squid ends up leaving his usual damage at UK before it's all said and done.

Frank.... big threes and almost a double double
Not much to discuss after this one!
Lucas knows how to screen
Still over a quarter to get our crap together
Greene D at its finest
Traylor is getting ripped off
Lucas stuffed by the walk on. Sigh
I don't think tt can maintain this level of ugly
No way selden was going to get up high enough to dunk that
Diallo looks like he played 50 minutes against ou
Greene probably not the hawk to rock
Both teams cold. Should see some good minutes for Diallo with mick already benched
Greene

@Lulufulu that's what everyone said when TCU joined the big 12...they'll get creamed by everyone else. (Mostly what happened, but I remember one game.. :confounded: )
I think the tourney is perfect. two games each weekend, hopefully for three weeks.
@jayballer54 relax and...
@jayballer54 Jayballer54/SlimShaddy, you need to work on adding an avatar to your profile. If you need suggestions, let us know.
Furthermore, it's the same amount of out-of-bounds space for both teams.

Where'd you live, Lumpy? My wife is from Monett.
@JRyman Past players at your position have developed well here. Do the names Selden, Oubre, Wiggins, Mclemore, Henry or Rush sound familiar? Some of those guys were ready for the NBA after one year. Some took two or three.
A couple hundred thousand hits are from me, so take that into account.
@Bwag Good questions about offensive efficiency. Didn't intend to get into a battle with you on this... I honestly expect Diallo to pull away from the other 5s in a week or two, but I think sitting on the bench watching how guys like Jamari lay it all out there on the floor will help the team more than a couple of chances to primp for sportscenter highlights. JMO
@Bwag thanks for the econ advice. I've run my own business for 18 years. I've chased down many a foolish opportunity at first then built solid relationships with people and companies that are all invested in results, not potential.
@Bwag So, your "telling" point about the rest of the team going flat was what?
@drgnslayr Spot on. Remember being 18 and playing against a 22 year old guy (like Lucas and Traylor)?
@Bwag During that 7:19 stretch Jamari carried the rest of the team... winning the tip, blocking two shots (sacrificing his body), getting a steal and two layups. He scored half the teams points and prevented at least 6. And you blame him? Weird.
One guy on the floor kept us from being down by 15 or more early in the second half, and that was Jamari.
I only care about the team we have. Would love to see them both back next year, but if they want to go pro, good luck to them.
@Bwag I'm comfortable arguing from the position of things that actually happened.
@Bwag Why was there only one set of footprints in the sand?
"That was when I carried you..."
A funny thing Self said in the post game interview about Hield: "We didn't go after him very hard because we had Ben."
@RockkChalkk Lucas's scoring (5 of 8 points) in the second overtime got us to the third. Everyone else was playing on dead legs for both teams.
Not a play you see a one and done player attempt.
@betterfireE no foul on the play
I figured his head probably exploded right about the time Lucas started the third OT.
When Perry shoots the three it seems like the basket doubles in size as the ball floats through the air toward it. Doesn't it?

I’m going to drop this topic now
I'm sure the topic will come up again many times between now and Saturday!
Lucas made the last 5 of KU's 8 points in the second OT. That actually happened. What could've/should've happened with Bragg or Diallo in there instead is just an unprovable fantasy.
LOL. Full quote is even more priceless.
"Right before the play started, the ref told me to, like, not get close to the line. But, after he handed the ball in, there's nothing he can do, so, you know, I took a step closer, and I just went all out on the deny and got the deflection and the steal."
@RockkChalkk I like not fouling intentionally with that much time left (8 seconds). No need to get into a free throw shooting contest. Keep them on their heels with the clock ticking and it's over.
Good board by Traylor at the end to seal it too.
One other key moment was Latten traveling after his defensive rebound on Mason's miss in the lane with about 47 seconds left in OT3.
OU was up 106-104 and had the ball (briefly) at that point.
Good grief, @wissoxfan83, lots of people leave the room. Hell, my wife can only watch if KU has a 20 point lead. (Which is fine with me because I can't stand to watch with negative nellies wailing about every tiny thing.)
Hield had a great game, but he made some huge mistakes too, so I'll thank him for those:
Thanks, Buddy, for throwing the ball out of bounds with 48 seconds left, tied at 86, at the end of OT1!
Thanks, Buddy, for getting your sloppy dribble picked off by Mason with 21 seconds left in OT3, OU up 106-105,
Thanks for not being able to inbounds the ball over a guy a half foot shorter than you with 12 seconds left in OT3, Buddy!
@jayballer54 I think everyone here can relate to your viewing experience (at least at some point). Following a game chat helps calm me down.
@brooksmd a couple of us thought Selden was fouled on that jam.
24 bench points for KU and only 5 for OU.
C5 had 17 points, 17 boards, 4 blocks and 3 steals
Frustrating that Bragg and Diallo aren't ready still, but not bad for a group effort. I would have liked to see what Diallo could do with his fresh legs in one of the overtimes.
Lattin missing the free throw after Lucas's foul at the end of regulation was the biggest/luckiest moment. He makes one or both of those, and KU had only 2.1 seconds to get a shot off to tie or win.
Selden missed the free throw in OT3, so no four-point play. Big shot, although OU ended up going ahead after that.
Mason's steal with 12 seconds left in OT3 was the biggest play, IMO. We were up 107-106, but that was the only point where I thought we might possibly be doomed. I figured the last team to have the ball would win.
Devonte was trying to guard Hield in the first half which might have affected his own game, maybe, but like @BeddieKU23 said, he just seemed way too amped up.
@Crimsonorblue22 good job, crimson!
@cragarhawk Saw that too. Great kid. I take back my punchable face comment.
