@wrwlumpy Until a month ago, I hadn't been to a Buffalo Wild Wings in almost 20 years. (Back in the late 90's in NE Ohio they were called BW3 and it was cheap food and crappy beer.) They opened a new location in Lawrence at 27th and Iowa where the plum tree Chinese place used to be. Checked it out with my wife during a Monday night football game.
2 craft beers, a chicken wrap, small wings and chili queso + tip set us back $55. Insult to injury, I forgot the leftover wings.
Good place to watch sports though, I'll admit that.
@JRyman Don't ruin the fun, man. This is probably the last we'll mention rebounding for a month or two. We'll be back to obsessing about three-point shot attempts in about 2 hours.
@JayHawkFanToo Every time someone mentions what a bad rebounder Jamari is (and I agree), I scratch my head trying to remember if it actually mattered last year.
So I checked the stats. Turns out, Jamari actually rebounded better (statistically) in games we LOST than in games we won last year.
Traylor rebounds per minute (rpm):
Season Overall: .182 rpm
Wins: .179 rpm
Losses (when outrebounded as a team): .189 rpm
All Losses: .190 rpm
In four of the nine losses, KU as a team was out rebounded, but in three of those 4 losses, Traylor actually had the second highest individual rebounding total. With a couple of exceptions, most of his best rebounding games were games KU lost including the final game against WSU (.3 rpm).
So, with that, I conclude that Traylor's poor rebounding has nothing to do with his playing time. It's actually a net positive... one of those intangibles that only a great mind like Bill Self would have noticed. :-)
Interesting to watch that pep rally today. It was a chance to see some behind-the-scenes leaders. Guthrie and Gomes handled the microphone with style. The young Christian Colon (guy is going to be good! / mature beyond his years) is obviously helping the Dominican guys along...Ventura in particular. Pretty cool.

IMO, the Diallo saga is a much worse topic, but I actually enjoy women's basketball. So shoot me... but they play the game played closer to the way Naismith envisioned it than the current men's game.

Good grief. Judging by the replays during the rain delay, Bautista hit 1000 home runs in this game, yet no replay of his routine pop fly that he stood and watched like an ass.
20 minutes tops on the rain delay. Man, I wish we got that much 35 miles to the west.
