Grade The New Kansas Recruiting Class • Jun 11, 2015 06:16 PM

Why is it that when a fan believes a player is going to be great, others say you're just being hopeful and projecting your own want full thoughts? Yet those same people will say the same player is more likely to do this or be this kind of player? Is that not projecting also?

I think this class is a ten, because as a fan I'm more excited about an upcoming season than I have in some time. I love this class because they've had nothing given to them. Even the star of this class Diallo still gets no credit for taking on the best and walking away MVP twice. Are you kidding me? This kid has a chip on his shoulder like not other. Yep this kid is going to be nasty. Bragg wants to be a Jayhawk, the best part he doesn't have to be the man on such a veteran team. No he can let the game come to him. Late in the season look for all the hoopla that comes with being a star. The kid has game. The addition of Coleby Cheese is perfect and most important. with all the bigs KU will be losing next year. Mister Coleby is perfect for KU. A footer with a chance to learn how to play basketball the right way, and spend all that time with Hudy. No way anything wrong with this. Lets not for get the Vick? The surprise none of you know about but will soon enough :)

Sometimes we want to rate recruiting classes off the level of talent and the amount gathered. Yet what about a recruiting class that fills a teams need that very year and future needs? Reality says this KU class is no ten. However rating basketball players and recruiting classes isn't about reality it's about perception and projection.

A perfect 10 for this KU recruiting class. I'm calling it.

UT - Academic Wrong Doing Accusation • Jun 11, 2015 04:48 PM

I wander if Barnes seen the writing on the wall, and for his faithfulness Texas allowed him to walk? In so many Barnes was the first to say it's not my job to win championships but to get these kids drafted.

Does the college game matter anymore? • Jun 11, 2015 04:35 AM

Does the college game matter anymore to the NBA? Should the College game change it's strategy? It seems the college game has been down the last few years. What has changed? Is the OAD hurting the college game?

College fans are different than NBA fans. They believe once a player is apart of the school they root for, then they are always apart of that school. Yet are OAD's really apart of that schools history and tradition? Will Kentucky fans really remember all the OAD's they've had? or Duke, or KU? NBA fans more geared for the profession side of things believe it's all about the team. A player comes or goes it doesn't matter. It's what have you done for me lately. College fans are more inclined to stick with their players. If a player has a bad year they believe and say wait till next year.

The OAD era has had an effect on the college game. Good or bad it's has changed how schools recruit and how the game is played. Coach Cal just said, "recently it wasn't about winning the championship but getting 8 players drafted into the NBA". Now I know some of you will say what a cop out. Yet is it really? In so many ways he is right. The more kids you get drafted the more talent that comes your way.

I don't want to speak for those that are gifted enough to play the college game, and then go pro after one year. Yet the writing is on the wall it's not about the education, school, or it's fans. Sadly it's really not. It's about money, and exposure. You know playing on national televised tv every night.

Think about it does it really matter what a kid does in the college game anymore? These kids are already drafted to the NBA even before they pick a college to go to. It doesn't matter what they do in their lone college season. They're still getting drafted. All college does is give the NBA another year to decide where these kids will be drafted. I know there is always exceptions to rule, but you know I'm right.

I think the college game needs to get back to the basics. Recruit to your needs and if one of them is a OAD then so be it. Just don't recruit to get all the talent you can when it doesn't fit what your system is and what your trying to do. It's all right to tell a OAD your not interested. They'll be alright. After all they have like 12 schools on their list. (shaking my head) Besides if you do what you do and recruit to what you do. You have a better chance of winning a NC than sending out a bunch of talented freshman.

Just my two cents.

"Maybe you’re the one getting less credit than you want."

I guess I'm confused?? Are you taking a shot at me??

If we go back to the beginning of the topic to my original post. I said in so many words I'm getting involved emotionally with this team. No more softball. No more excuses, No more doing superstitious rituals thinking that somehow it's affecting the game. No this team has everything you want as HC and fan. If this is a poker game I'm I betting them up. If this was a Texas hold'em game then I'm all in.

Your right I might be more disappointed than you if a loss happens, but you know what I'm going to enjoy the ride.

As far as the Embiid comparison? It wasn't me comparing them. But thanks for the credit anyway.

@sfbahawk

All I know is that teams get ranked high like UK and Duke off of pure potential of the players they sign on the dotted line. Yet Diallo bested the best not once but twice and he gets no credit among the KU faithful. Mindboggling to me.

No more softball • Jun 10, 2015 04:21 AM

I know as fans we break down a players game and do the whole comparing to the greatest. Yet I have to say I'm a bit taken back by some of the comments I'm reading. It would seem a consensus has been formed that Diallo will be nothing more than a motor guy.

So what if Diallo isn't on the same level as JoJo talent wise. Last time I checked Embiid didn't win a championship for KU. I'm not sure he would have even if he didn't get hurt.

Maybe Diallo isn't the polished big man you all want? So what if he doesn't have a plethora of moves under the basket. The kid can play.

This kid played against the best of his class, and I know how you guys put so much stock in the rankings of players and recruiting classes. Yet you can't give credit where credit is do? He took on the best in not one but two star studded games of the best upcoming talent (OAD) and walked away MVP twice.

Whatever this kid has it's golden. I'm afraid you guys aren't looking at the big picture here. Um we still have Ellis. Yea you know that kid from Wichita that keeps getting better and better. Now think about it? Starting lineup with Diallo who took on all comers and walked away MVP along side the Designer. Are you kidding me?

Something tells me when Ellis makes a wonderful move and the ball doesn't quite go down we're going to hear this thunderous dunk as the crowd goes wild. We'll look up and Diallo will be hanging on the rim and the announcers will be saying how did he do that.

Diallo is a gamer boys, and so is Bragg. It's been awhile but I can finally say with out a doubt we have a team that can win it all.

Why not play both? Greene has shown when he is on look the f**K out. As for Svi we all know and believe this kid can have break out year.

Forget the Medical red shirt card. If Greene is ready to go then play him along with Svi.

Why wouldn't you ???

No more softball • Jun 10, 2015 03:48 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10

You also said that Diallo isn't a natural scorer. OK fine, but all I can tell you is the dude played in two star studded events with the best of the best in his class. Walked away with the MVP twice.

Whatever he does I hope he brings it to KU. I'll take a gamer over a natural scorer any day.

No more softball • Jun 10, 2015 12:05 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10

I think your under valuing what a player does in the paint. You make the statement that hey if you can learn to seal your guy then it's easy.

If it was so easy whey do so many big man fail in the NBA and even the college game?

No more softball • Jun 08, 2015 11:06 PM

@JayHawkFanToo

And that is my point. Before KU signed JoJo there was no offers. These top kids are recruited way before they hit their senior season in high school. Yet nobody heard of Embiid. It wasn't until after KU signed him that he became a player everybody acknowledged as having great potential. There was plenty of time for other schools to pursue Embiid long before KU signed him. Yet his can't miss skills and ability didn't show up on the radar.

The real question is did HCBS find a diamond or did he take a piece of coal and put so much pressure on it that it became a diamond? Lets not forget we have indeed only seen one season of Embiid playing. The potential is high but there is still a lot of ??? marks regarding his future.

No more softball • Jun 08, 2015 08:56 PM

@HighEliteMajor

It seems I maybe outnumbered on this issue of JoJo.

JoJo is a special player no doubt and has a very high ceiling. Yet the topic of JoJo seems to have this tone of somehow KU won a championship with him stalking the paint? I wish JoJo would've followed his heart and stayed another year at KU. Getting a second year of watching JoJo grow would have been nice to see. Alas the money it seems is to much to pass.

I'm not sure how we got to this place of Diallo vs Embiid or why it's even important. All I know is some say Embiid was and is a can't miss. When the fact is we not only as KU fans, but basketball fans in general have only really seen JoJo play one lone season in College and the NBA. A season that took a semester before Embiid could wrestle the starting job away. There is a lot projecting going on so little evidence.

As for Embiid sometimes it's easy to look back and say Oh yea JoJo was a can't miss just look at those skills sets and moves. However nobody was recruiting Embiid out of high school. It was only after KU and HCBS got his hands on Embiid that the college world took notice of JoJo. Also don't forget it was after late night that HCBS lit into Embiid, almost causing the kid to leave. Plus I don't think JoJo ever really blossomed until HCBS had him in the gym and was kicking his butt.

Diallo is no Embiid, and Embiid is no Diallo. To compare the two isn't really fair to either one. Now as fans comparing backgrounds, skills sets, and athletic ability it is what we do. Embiid is great and has more upside on paper versus Diallo.

Yet if KU and Diallo win a National Championship who are we going to remember as the greatest?

No more softball • Jun 08, 2015 06:04 PM

@JayHawkFanToo

I'm not sure I agree on the can't miss tag. Though I would agree some started to see Embiid as having great potential. However there wasn't a plethora of schools knocking down his door. To say other wise is pure speculation. It's not like nobody had seen Embiid play. After all he wasn't even the the top recruit off his own High School team. Plenty of scouts had watched Embiid play, yet no interest was really there. I remember the tag on Embiid when he signed with KU was "high pontential, but a project player". Embiid didn't make his jump until he signed with KU.

Back on point here to say that KU wouldn't be as good with Diallo as it would be with Embiid, would be like me saying "well KU wouldn't be as good with Embiid as it would be with Wilt". It just doesn't make any sense.

No more softball • Jun 08, 2015 09:38 AM

All right @Texas-Hawk-10, @ParisHawk, and @Lulufulu? You three are raining on my parade. :rage:

Just kidding love the different point of views. However lets talk about and break this down. Embiid is a stud we can all agree. Comparing Dallio to Embiid at least on the surface is well just crazy. Yet stop and take a deep breath. I don't remember the blue bloods breaking down the front door to recruit Embiid. In fact Embiid really got no run as a top player until HCBS offered him a scholarship. In fact Embiid wasn't even the top recruit off his own high school team. So where was this can't miss talent you speak of? This for sure NBA HOFamer? Was Embiid a diamond or a diamond in the rough? In fact Embiid really got no run until after playing a full semester at KU and claiming a starting spot at KU.

So did Embiid always have it, or did HCBS unlock the potential of the Embiid? I really don't have the answer. I just don't know. Yet to dismiss Diallo and his potential is premature. Sure I agree he will be no Embiid. Just like nobody will be Jordan, or the Bird, or the Magic, or LeBron, or even Wilt. Diallo will be who he decides to be.

The fact is Embiid was a rare find, and he didn't live up to the expectations in the college game. Yes I said it. Embiid didn't live up to the expectations in the college game. As for Dallio all I can say is he played against the best of his class twice and walked away with the MVP twice. That says something. Once you can make the argument it was a fluke but twice you have to acknowledge the kid has something.

I would agree that Embiid has the potential to be great no doubt, but whose to say Dallio won't be great too. Just in his own way? You guys are making a big mistake on this one.

I will also say Mister Bragg is going to shock you too. Mark it, save it, you heard it here first.

Love the comment I too believe we maybe underselling Diallo a little. Will he be the next Embiid? Who knows? I will say as you alluded too. He did indeed went against the best in his class twice and walked away with the MVP twice. The boy can play.

I'm expecting great things from SVI. If anything the kid is a competitor. You don't make and come as far as he has if your not. In reality he was just a kid last year. NO I mean a kid !!! A year under Hudy, and year to really study the US game. Svi who grew up and was coming from all things European basketball. Took his life, his game to the US and to one of the premier intuitions of basketball. Lets not forget he was still like 16 years old. It's a wander he even got any playing time last year?

I don't know maybe I'm just reaching but I just think the kid is only to get better and better. It wouldn't surprise me if he becomes the reason KU makes a serious run this year.

No more softball • Jun 07, 2015 04:49 AM

So last season ended with a thud. Did any KU fans really think the outcome would be any different? Sure we put on the KU glasses and tried to see a final four run and so forth. Hey that's what good fans do. Ok enough looking back, lets look forward.

KU is bringing back a very seasoned team. Yes they were weak in the paint last year. Yet with the additions of Diallo and Bragg the paint woes should go away. Lets not forget the WUG? All those extra practices. Extra time for the team to Gel, and learn the system.

I debated on starting this topic as I didn't want to jinx the upcoming season. I'm just tired of being superstitious. I'm the guy that has a routine before and during the game. I always have a few beers before the game, and sometimes barbeque. During the game I always like my right leg under my left leg. Don't know why I just do?

However the superstitions are done. This team is loaded at every position, with potential star power at every position. They have a deep bench. They should be able to dribble and drive, they should be to fast break at will, they should be able to shoot the three, they should be able to pound the ball inside, and they should be able to play lock down defense.

The days of accuses are done. If I don't see this team in the Final 4 then I just don't know. :(

Hell I bet whatever the NCAA hands down won't even affect this years UNC team. After all UNC has a good team this year. The NCAA won't dare derail that freight train. Matter of fact I think UNC is giving HCRW a new contract to show the NCAA who's boss.

Greg Marshall to Iowa State? • Jun 06, 2015 02:40 AM

@konkeyDong

You don't think Marshall would at least entertain the thought? I get the whole Texas thing. Yet I would raise the argument why would a HC of basketball want that job? Yea I know it's Texas but lets be real they don't care about basketball. If they did KU wouldn't have the conference streak they have. Personally I think Marshall was smart to pass on the Texas job if that is what he indeed did.

Why be a Texas monkey when you can be a God at Wichita ST? The Iowa St would be an interesting one if I was Marshall. Though the Clones want to be a football school they are indeed a basketball school. Just my two cents.

whats up with Vick? • Jun 05, 2015 03:34 AM

@JayHawkFanToo says

" He might have potential, but at this time and based on his first season he is a project that might or might not pan out. "

Isn't that recruiting? Even OAD's can prove to be a disappointment. I'm not sure anybody is claiming Chuckwu as the savior of HCBS Hi/low? He would be a nice get though With all the bigs KU will be losing after this season it would be kind of nice to have 3 bigs coming back instead of just 2.

Chuckwu would be a project player no doubt. Yet is that a bad thing?

whats up with Vick? • Jun 05, 2015 03:22 AM

@sfbahawk

No, No, I'm all in on Colby Cheese, and think KU's should also go after Chukwu. 6'9 or 7ft it doesn't matter to me. You guys want to get hung up on 3 inches knock yourself out. If HCBS doesn't have bigs then KU because very beatable. I'm not alone in this thinking as we look around the college game. Everybody is trying to get all the bigs they can.

Just look at Chukwu. In all honesty it's not like he was tearing it up at his former school. Yet he decides to change schools and reopens his recruitment and he has a list of KU, Spartans, and Virginia. That's not a bad list of schools interested in your services.

So I guess I have to disagree with you. There is a merit and should be a desire to sign Chukwu.

whats up with Vick? • Jun 04, 2015 12:56 PM

@BeddieKU23

I would love to believe you and would love to agree with you. However the NBA draft isn't about what have you accomplished. It's about potential and whether they are willing to take a chance on you. Bragg very well could be here for a few years, but if he comes out and shows flashes of what he can become. He's gone. Money talks in this day in age.

whats up with Vick? • Jun 04, 2015 12:20 PM

@sfbahawk

You make a fine point, but if you against one aspect then you are for the other. Meaning you think HCBS should stay loaded at the guard positions. As your theory is that bigs aren't really the key to HCBS success.

All I can say is you must of not watched the same KU team that I watched last year? HCBS isn't not going to change is system to accommodate a guard heavy team. He's going to play his high low game period. What was on the floor last year left a very sic feeling in my stomach. There is not a KU fan in here that can look me in the eyes and say yea I thought last years team really had a shot at the final 4, let alone a championship.

They were terrible in the paint, and HCBS refused to change his game plan. HCBS needs bigs whether 6'9 or 7ft. After this year Ellis, Tralyor, Mickelson are gone, and there is very good chance that Diallo and Bragg are gone too. That leaves Lucas and Cobley Cheese. The need for Chuckwu goes way beyond the footer debate. If KU were to get Chuckwu they would at the very least have three bigs that know the system and would take off some of the pressure to land two bigs in the 2016 class of recruits.

whats up with Vick? • Jun 03, 2015 10:19 PM

I guess this is not about Vick?? ;)

Just throwing my two cents out there. After watching the nightmare unfold last year. Two things came to my mind.

One is HCBS doesn't change his system to the talent he puts on the floor. He expects those players to run his system without question.

Two when HCBS doesn't have the players to run his system. KU becomes very beatable.

So what do we do? Do we get rid of HCBS? No of course not. However if we are going to keep him then he should recruit to his system, and us fans should let him. I would hate to see any current KU player let go for any reason, but HCBS system requires big men, and Chukwu is a big man.

I say sadly let the chips fall where they may, but sign Chukwu. Scholarships are giving on a yearly basis. Just because you dream of going to the moon, becoming the president of the Untied States or playing for the Kansas Jayhawks doesn't mean it's going to happen. Especially in this day in age of the shoe wars, media contracts, and conference realignment.

The old days are gone. There is no more time allowed for rebuilding. To survive one must reload. Just look at how far UCLA has fallen. They're not even the top dog of the West Coast anymore, and they were once a blue blood. The game has changed my friends.

If we keep HCBS then we get big men anyway we can. Even if it means clearing a spot on the roster. :(

The one-upper • Jun 01, 2015 05:23 PM

@Statmachine

I have one but it might be urban legend by now. Yet it did really happen to me. It just made my jaw drop and made my head just shake with WTF.

I was hanging out with some friends of mine that come around in Deer season. Everybody was telling their story and so on. So this one guy who has to be the know it all and the been there and done that.

Here's his story

He was just walking out in the woods without a gun. (which is fishy right there). He seen a big Buck but he had no gun. So he took his boot strings out of his boots and snuck up on the deer like a ninja (another warning sign you don't sneak up on deer). Caught the deer and tied him to a tree (Another WTF moment). Then went back and got his gun and killed the deer. It was so out there nobody could even laugh. Though some of us tried to do thinking he was joking, but no he was serious.

To this day I'm like WTF?

Dwight Coleby To Kansas • Jun 01, 2015 04:48 PM

@ParisHawk

Well that's the point.

Why is Chukwu still taking his visit to KU?

Why is HCBS still recruiting Chukwu?

You're right on the Red shirt analogy. That means somebody has to be transferring, as I believe Vick comes now.

Dwight Coleby To Kansas • Jun 01, 2015 03:27 PM

Sometimes as KU fans we can make things confusing. There is nothing wrong with being confused. However the key is to ask the right questions to find clarification. Now even asking the right questions can still leave a misty, cloudy, glaring picture. Yet it will strip the madness and at the very least puts you in the ballpark of what's going on. :+1:

  1. Mister Coleby was a surprise. He just came out of nowhere.
    (a) He just left his former school and is now he's a Jayhawk.
    (1) Why did he leave is former school?
    (2) Why did he sign with KU so quick? In his own words other schools were interested.
    (3) Did Coleby know he was going to KU along?
    (b) He is also a foreign born player.
    (1) Why is this important? Well KU seems to be a favorite for foreign players
    (2) Is KU becoming the mecca of foreign Players?
    (3) Does KU being an Adidas have anything to do with this?
  2. Everybody was for sure Chukwu was in the bag.
    (a) What happened?
    (b) Why is Chukwu still coming to KU for a recruiting visit when all the schollies are gone?
    (c) Why is HCBS still recruiting Chukwu if he has no schollies left?

I'm not sure we can answer all these questions. Yet I think we can draw some conclusions. Coleby Cheese knew he was going to KU or he never leaves his former school. Chukwu is still on the table for KU. As Chukwu is till coming for his visit and HCBS is still recruiting him even thought all the schollies are full. The rest of it is just conjecture.

Just my thoughts here. I think last year scared the Hell out of HCBS. He was so out of his comfort zone not being able to play his patented high/low. That he has vowed that this will never happen again. Trying to see the bigger picture here. After next year there is a chance that KU could lose Perry, Bragg, and Diallo to the NBA draft. Now I know Bragg projects to more of at least a two year player. However if he has a good season all bets are off. As the NBA draft is really about potential, even it they will trade that potential (Cleveland) ( :) ). Meaning KU could have a big hole in the paint trying to fill competing with UK and Duke in 2016. Hence why I think HCBS is still in on Chukwu. Meaning somebody is transferring, as I don't think redshirting a player gives you another scholarship. I maybe wrong but even if a player redshirts the school still has to honor the scholarship?

I just see Vick playing this year. So I believe somebody is leaving. Especially if Chuckwu signs on the dotted line. If I had to guess it is Traylor. I love the guys heart but he's so in over his head at KU. If he played for a team like Iowa St. that likes to run and gun he would most likely do quite well. Yet in BS system a big has to be able to score with his back to the basket. Something Traylor just can't do. :(

And yet they traded the ROY for him with no guarantees. I'm just howling. No wander Cleveland lacks in championships. They are willing to trade anything and everything for just a chance.

Crazy thing I wouldn't be surprised if Lebron left after this year. Especially if the Cavs win the championship this year.

I guess on the bright side they can hey remember in 2015 when we won the championship after 10 years of getting clocked year after year.

Warriors or Cavaliers? • May 28, 2015 09:47 PM

A part of me is wishing that Cleveland will win. As I think Lebron could very well leave after one year if he's wins a championship for Cleveland. With both Lebron and Love both leaving after one year. I would love to be a fly on the wall, when the powers to be that sold the future for a OAD.

Yet a part of me wants to see Cleveland lose and lose bad.

I guess I'm still pissed and miffed as who could and did trade a future talent like Wiggins without even seen what the kid has.

I guess the word is out? Wiggins can play. LOL

The thing is here in America we are a bit sheltered. We believe the NFL, Basketball, Baseball, and then soccer is how the pecking order goes. Yet in the rest of the world it's Soccer and then Soccer. It really is.

Last time I checked Adidas is still king in soccer. However it may seem Nike is trying to change that at all cost. Even it means breaking the law.

Oh where is @jaybate-1.0? Oh great one we need your input.

The truth going home? • May 28, 2015 04:24 PM

Didn't Paul Peirce say something about coming back to KU land? I think it was after the Legends of the Phog game. Where Mario handed Paul his only non winning game at the field house?

The legends of the Phog ↗

By all means count me in on the Truth coming back to KU to ride the bench as an assistant coach. :joy:

The truth going home? • May 27, 2015 12:27 PM

Where there is smoke there is fire ↗

It would seem from the twitter world, and the internet universe that the Truth Paul Peirce a KU beloved maybe heading to the Clippers next year.

I don't know why as I'm not much of an NBA fan, but I was interested in the Clippers this year. In some ways I guess I was flirting with borderline fandom. I would like to say it was because Danny Manning played there, but that's not it. I think it's I just because I hate Kobe and the Lakers. :tongue:

However if the Peirce does go to the Clippers. Do they become the favorites next year? I know the truth is getting older, but didn't the Clippers miss a veteran presence? I'm not sure, as I said I don't follow the NBA game much.

So for you KU fans that know the NBA game. Does signing Peirce make it a game changer for the Clippers? Should I buy a Clippers jersey? A the Truth Paul Peirce jersey of course. :clap:

So are we done? • May 26, 2015 05:48 PM

@konkeyDong

Oh I'm not trying accuse HCBS or KU for any wrong doing. As I'm not even sure what the rules of tampering would be in the college game. I just seemed a little weird the timing and everything, and the fact nobody really had any idea.

When Conner left I'm pretty sure HCBS knew it was possible. Hell he more than likely told him it might be option he wants to look at.

I'm just throwing out fodder. It wouldn't surprise me if Adidas is somehow behind this. The College game is changing so much. Who knows anymore? Like I can't figure out why so many OAD's want to go to the same school and compete for mere playing time let alone a starting spot? They could start and be the man on 90% of the other teams. Just doesn't make sense to me.

I will say this though I will be completely shocked if KU doesn't land Chukwu.

So are we done? • May 25, 2015 09:17 PM

@HighEliteMajor

I wasn't sure what to think of Chukwu when he burst unto KU's radar. I have to say I'm not sure there isn't a bit of tampering with Chukwu. Either that or one of his handlers really understands what's best for him.

Him just upping and leaving Providence seemed to be a major surprise to his HC and those on his team. However recruiting is a dirty game. Dog eat Dog.

I would concur signing Paschal Chukwu could well be the game changer this recruiting class needs. He could spend a year learning the system and just torturing Ellis, Bragg, and Diallo in practice. In the end making them better, and give him a leg up for next year.

So are we done? • May 25, 2015 04:51 PM

With my coffee in hand and my laptop set for trolling mode. I edged into the world of the internet and google. I wasn't really looking for anything particular, as to be honest I really didn't feel there was anything to find.

Then I found one then two comments made by Thon Maker's mentor about KU not contacting the young lad. Which left me puzzled. I thought we are were done recruiting Mister Maker? That the concept of recruiting a player for only half a semester was even beyond normal common sense.

Why would anybody want this kid? I guess even UK has backed off a little, yet when on record as saying when you're ready to be recruited give me a call.

Has KU sailed the ship on without Maker? It seems that way to me, as with the visit of Paschal Chuckwu scheduled for June. I don't know? I just thought it was interesting that the mentor and handlers for Thon Maker seemed concerned KU wasn't showing interest in their golden goose anymore.

Just throwing this out there

What if the Cavs and LeBron do win a championship this year? Forget Love would LeBron come back?

In all reality LeBron would be off the hook with his Cleveland background and connection. He could say, "I came back", "I won you a championship". Now I'm taking my ball and going somewhere else.

It my be a reach on my part, but it's not unthinkable. LeBron maybe the best basketball player to lace them up in sometime, but he's also a business man. He'll want to maximize his brand and earnings while he'll still can. LeBron maybe good for Cleveland but Cleveland may not be good for LeBron.

Besides he left the Cavs once, he could do it again. Remember he basically signed a year to year contract.

@JayHawkFanToo

That would be correct. The big boys of college football, and everybody else understood a governing body was needed. No way were the Alabama's and Texas's of the world were going to give up the profits of college football.

So the NCAA got the Tournament. Still what did you say? 10.4 billion over 14 years? That's not chump change by any means.

No way the NCAA brings the hammer to UNC. No way. The NCAA is about two stones throws away of being dismantled or losing any say so when dealing with the power 5 as it is. The only reason they still exist is to keep the government and the lawsuits at bay. However if the NCAA plays to hard, I have no doubt the power 5 will head out the door. Thereby changing college sports forever.

No way the NCAA throws the book at UNC. NO Way. Hell they tried everything short of covering it up to just make it go away. With the autonomy of the power 5, the NCAA is nothing more than a shell of it's former self. The NCAA really has no teeth any more.

They mess with UNC and the NCAA might lose their bread and butter College Basket. College Football may in deed pay the bills but College Basketball isn't chump change, and is the main source of funds that supports the NCAA.
