I’m amused that some have taking the stance that jaybate came across as being superior in his monologues and posts. Did you ever think maybe you just felt inferior?
Dickie V loves that east coast flavor. That’s why I don’t listen to him. He’s more of a hype man. You know “if you act now you’ll get a second for free, that’s right free, free, free baby” I think his knowledge of basketball went when his hair did. Wait did he ever have hair?
It’s more than a another year. It’s a closing of a decade, and the beginning of a new one. Nice post @jayballer73
I don’t think the nba really cares. Sure they’ll tell a player they need to work on this or that. Yet at the end of the day if the kid has the goods he will get drafted. So many unpolished kids get drafted every year. I guess I would ask the question is any kid really ready to make that leap to the NBA. I would say no. The NBA is just a different type of game.
I’m not sure the river boat gambler could get it done at wake.
To be fare we are talking about wake. In my humble opinion he should have never gone to wake.
I think we look at the rankings in a distorted view. The sports media loves the rankings because it helps promote the games they are going to broadcast. You know the sales pitch, “Saturday at 3:30 #1 versus # 15 only on ESPN. The fans love it because we can go around touting our team. Think about it? How many times have we fans found our selves using the “Hey #1 in the nation” card?
The reality is you can just about take the top 10 in any year and swap them out in the rankings.
For me I think achieving the #1 ranking is a reward and a test for the players. Sometimes we forget they are just kids. They love the #1 ranking. Its an achievement so few get to experience. It’s a reward for the effort these kids put into their craft. It is also a test of their mindset, their spirit. Being ranked #1 comes with a big old bulls eye. No longer can you just go out and play. All eyes are on you. No longer is a win just a win. It’s how many points did you win by, what was the quality of the opponent. How many times have we seen a team grab the golden ring of #1, only to go out and lose their next game.
In conclusion I’d say College basketball rankings in the grand scheme of things really mean nothing on the court, but in the minds of the kids and the wallets of those that make money. It means everything.
Is pooka fantasy football gold? You know late round pick.
I’ve often wander if programs like KU should schedule, and play programs like these. One side it’s a easy win and builds team swagger, on the other side there is always that chance. That chance of defeat. In the end I say play them. Biggest reason it helps these smaller programs with money and exposure.
Btw you can’t please a lib. Always mad about something. That’s why they have safe places through all colleges in America. They need a place to digest disagreements to their beliefs.
Man our Hawks looking good this year.
Ah the poor @mayjay trying to make peace with the libs he defends. Lmao. Long time old adversary. Trusting you’re living the dream and life has been good?
Oh for the record we all know how this impeachment will turnout. Yet man our Jayhawks are tough this year. Really tough. Rock Chalk
Will you vote for biden? Who’s son obviously got some serious money being the son of a VP.
Would you be here posting they have to go?
Be honest? If this was a Dem would you libs and socialist be on board with impeachment? Would you think the evidence presented be good enough to impeach one of your own?
Im still waiting for the facts? All I’ve seen is hear say and perception? Let’s not forget Trump Released the transcripts Of the call. What we debating?
I was going to start another topic on this topic. Yet here we are. I was going to call this Topic I'm not giving up on this team.
I look at this team and I think man so much they have had to go through. Losing Desousa to crap, and Doka to a injury is tough. Does anybody doubt if Doka plays in this game KU wins? Yet this is basically a new team from scratch. Even HCBS has to adjust. No veteran play, no go to scorer. and just basically starting over. Yet there they are battling game after game. Sure it doesn't look good right now, but I got a feeling by the end of the season this team can be pretty special. As the world caves in around this team, watch has they circle the wagons. Just watch.
Come tournament time this team will be playing with house money. I see another final 4 run. After that it's a crap shoot.
OK I'm wrong lets pay full price for a part time player. Better yet sign him to a new contract. Top dollar.
Berry is too injury prone time to cut him loose.
I kind of feel the UCLA coaching job just isn't what it used to be. The state of California seems more interested in Pro Sports teams, smoking weed and the beach. I'm not sure if I was an up and coming coach I would want that job. Sure recruiting would be somewhat easy. But the Pac whatever just isn't the powerhouse it used to be.

@dylans The B12 is at it's best when Texas is good. It's not a coincidence that the B12's on field decline coincided with Texas struggling, by Texas standards, for most of the past decade. Texas being good is good for the B12 because it's easier to recruit in Texas when UT is good. The SEC has dominated Texas recruiting for awhile now because of UT's struggles.
The B12 needs UT to reclaim the DFW area in recruiting from the SEC and at least be 50/50 in Houston with the SEC.
Even though UH isn't getting a B12 invote anytime soon since they're showing everyone how not to attract a P5 invite, I've always believed adding them would be big for the B12 for recruiting purposes because Houston is an SEC city and the SEC schools (mostly A&M and LSU) have dominated Houston recruiting for the better part of a decade. UH doesn't change it overnight, but it gives other B12 schools a strong foothold in the city to build relationships with area coaches.
Do you think the Big 12 would add schools? I'm just not seeing it. To be honest I think the Big 12 conference's days are numbered. Could be wrong though.
Lmao. Oh excuse me great wise one. I'm fully aware one has to make their own choices and be responsible for such choices. Yet if you can't or don't want to understand the concept of an environment and it's a effect on children then you are the one that is being foolish. If you take a child and give them all the tools to be successful. Odds say the child will be successful in some form. Yet if you take a child and tell them they can't make it on their own. Odds say that child will become dependent on some form of a handout. Oh yes there are always those exceptions to the norm, Yet they are hardly reality.
How about we stay away from the personal barbs and have a honest debate?
I mean how do some of these kids have parents or leadership over their lives called Handlers? In the case of Silvio, he has a handler that received money? Right? Sounds fishy to me from the get go. Does it not you? So what deal did Silvio make with his handler? Or who made this deal so that Silvio could have a handler? Yet somehow in all this Silvio is supposed to know, as you say?
Damn
Does AS foul?
I'm clapping my hands. LOL
