@justanotherfan Aaron miles?

YES THIS. I have no idea if he's interested in coming back to a college job, but if there's an opening for an assistant he'd be my first call. Might be the perfect replacement for Townsend if he has to go considering Miles's west coast ties.

So I guess my question now becomes , I saw/read that Hawley is holding off and will not be committing in the early period. - - My question is concerning KU and with us getting CB' do you think he picked up on the fact that we might be having other QB'S commit such as the North Carolina kid/Jace ? - -or considering us and then saw off TOS that there was a QB possibly rumor going to be visiting this weekend - - do you think it might make Hawley cool off - IF he was seriously considering us ?

I think he's just waiting to see how things play out. If we take a transfer QB in January, I think that probably means we wouldn't take 3 QB's in the class. We may offer a grayshirt or something but I think he's going to have better opportunities than that.

After 3 games- Discussion • Dec 03, 2020 10:09 PM

Here's what I got so far:

  • Holy crap Dave and Mitch have been bad. There's some hand wringing about who's been worse, but it don't think it matters. One needs to step up for us to make a deep run in March.

  • Pleasantly surprised by Ochai and Braun, especially Ochai. Seems like he's taken the leap we all expected after his FR year. Braun is a baaaaad man.

  • Haven't seen enough from Garrett to really evaluate him at PG. I think he's definitely better than what he's shown so far (partially due to health) but he did lead the league in assists last year.

  • I want to have DaJuan Harris's babies.

  • Bryce will get there. He's already shown he can really shoot it and doesn't have a conscience. The rest will come.

  • Can't wait for Tyon to get healthy. May be an after Christmas deal for him, but he's probably our best pro prospect and the one guy who can go off-script and make plays.

  • Jalen. Wowzer. I'm kind of jaded on offseason hype stories, but he really proved that one to be true. He's by far our best "big" at the moment. He's a tough guard for almost any 5 in the country, and has a really good skill level. Watch tf out if his shot starts to fall more consistently. He has very good form, just has to go in more often.

Update: can confirm Jace is transferring and graduating in December. Quite impressive to finish a BBA from Kenan-Flagler in 2.5 years. Also, will have 4 years of eligibility. Hit the RS trifecta: normal, medical, covid.

So you think he comes? - - yes or no ?

Idk if we'll land him but I think we'll be heavily involved. He wants his MBA and KU's b school is legit. Plus, big KU family. Beaty royally screwed up there and Les and co. will have to do some repair work.

Texas is dumping on UNC. Is this finally Shaka's year?

I don’t think so. UNC looks a year away. Their frontline is terrific but they’re too reliant on freshmen guards to be really good. And they can’t shoot.

Pumped for this Texas UNC game. Real test for both teams.

For like 8 seconds, I believe.

Can never have too many QB's. At worst you get one transfer if he can't get above a backup role.

2021 Recruiting • Dec 01, 2020 04:16 AM

One name to keep in mind. Jace Ruder, current RS Soph at UNC is likely transferring. Why should we care? Well, Jace is from Norton, Kansas (very much FarmerJayhawk territory) and I’ve been hearing rumors from around the Mid-Continent League that our boy is coming home because he misses wearing blue. And he got recruited over. Twice. But it doesn’t matter. I’d look for him to be a Jayhawk if we can open a spot this spring. If it means asking Easters to blue, I’m all for it. If he doesn’t take it, we’ll still have two true freshmen next year (Daniels and Easters). Comes from a great family of diehard Jayhawk fans.

Non-KU Games Thread • Dec 01, 2020 01:32 AM

@BeddieKU23 and I don’t think a very good one. I don’t think they have enough perimeter scoring to be more than a fringe second weekend team.

Yeah, I honestly didn’t think they’d get him 😂. I think Hawley and Easters will compete once they’re here. Sounds like they’re just throwing numbers at QB until they find a couple they like.

TCU Disaster • Nov 29, 2020 03:06 PM

I’m willing to give the whole staff at least one more year. No spring ball was a big deal for this team. True sophomore and younger have probably started 60ish games this year. I don’t care if the ghost of Bill Walsh is coaching them, it’s not going to be good. Lets get in a full spring and fall camp, let the guys develop, and see what happens. If we don’t look better in a year, then we can seriously consider making a change. I did like the changes along the OL. Clark isn’t a LT at all, so moving him back inside was the correct decision. We obviously really, really missed Hughes at C. But it’s good for the youngsters to get all those snaps.

Hope this proves to be correct.

Would be terrific. I still think (or hope, anyhow) TGF steps up and seizes the job because he has the highest ceiling and can be terrific off script. But Wilson’s shooting (which apparently is better now) is intriguing.
