It literally is a preseason game so the label is less relevant, but I hope Self and Cal treat it like an NFL preseason game. Run some basic sets, play lots of young guys, sell a bunch of tickets, stay healthy. Beyond that I don't care

Just an educated guess, but KU has a top 5 NIL program for hoops. We can go out and get guys like Hunt and Storr without much trouble retaining talent.

My guess, and just a guess, is that he’s timing this where no players can realistically leave before the semester. They can enter the portal but schools almost always honor the scholarships through the semester. Plus he can choose his successor.
