@jaybate-1.0 heās the absolute perfect 3rd big for this team. Can play either frontcourt spot and has a pretty diverse skill set for how big he is. Nobody else is getting a rebound when he and Dedric are on the floor at the same time. Thereāll be some games where heās the better option at the 5 than Doke.
The staff feels like theyāre in it as long as they get a visit. Which should happen. SC is probably still the favorite but itās not a total lock like the CB would have everyone believe

KU going to see Cassius Stanley. Theyāre really a player here.
I really doubt it.
Cool story
KU going to see Cassius Stanley. Theyāre really a player here.
@BShark barring a spot coming open if Hurt decides early for not-KU
Crazy big. KU was in for Precious today too. Definitely casting a wide net at this stage.
As far as I know heās going to play.
That was certainly unexpected. And positive. Methinks KU is now in a better spot for Anthony.

Do the āUnofficial Visitā players spend time with current players, get tours, etc? Other than paying their own way, whatās the difference? Thanks in advance!
Theyāre in town for a shorter period of time. A lot of guys within driving distance just come for the the event and the next morning.
Yikes. Well canāt get them all right I guess. Also really bad news for KU. Duke all the way here.
Ha! Yeah couldnāt resist the Mizzou dig. Letās hope we donāt need to take him come April. Seems like a prime year to add mid year transfer. We have the open scholarship and guys are leaving more often mid year.
Is Mizzou really P5 tho
Visited KU today apparently. Maybe theyāre thinking heāll pull an Ochai his senior year?
Honestly was hoping we could snake him as a walk on haha
Memphis is going to have a monster haul this year. But I donāt think Hampton will be in it. Donāt read much into the OV. Remember guys can take 15 now instead of 5, broken up by year. Still Duke and KU in my mind.
@jayballer73 Iāve got Memphis FWIW. KU is playing nice because heās family but they wonāt be heartbroken if he goes elsewhere. Of course that could change if he plays really well at Oak Hill this year. As of now, meh. More of a RS/developmental guy.
@Woodrow he tweeted about news coming Friday and a little birdie told me this was it. I think Duke or KU. Memphis is too much of an unknown for a lot of top guys yet. KU has something neither can sell right now: a guaranteed role and history of developing great guards.
RJ Hampton going to 2019. Get ready for a fight.
@jayballer73 same. I will say most fans not on the internet are really cool. Kentucky fans excluded.
Haha Iāll take all that crap and then some if we got Wiseman.
Canāt hurt to have JRE in Wisemanās ear. Because those two would be a filthy front court. The Mann thing REALLY surprised me. Word around UNC was it was done.
KU scheduled an in-home with James Wiseman and heās coming for Late Night. Might as well take the free trip I guess. Because heās staying home.

Lock city. He may take all the visits but itās KU barring a stunner.
Yep. From what I understand it was just a matter of KU/the staff making him a priority and they did.
@Woodrow from what I understand the staff liked Oscar but knew he is a lock for WVU.
Yup. The staff isnāt taking commitments from bigs unless their names are Hurt or JRE until further notice.

Do you think the likelihood of Anthony landing at KU is as about as good as me joining the priesthood tomorrow? lol. - - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
Ha! Itās somewhere north of 0 but still in the same zip code.
@BShark thereās just a lot that has to happen for anyone to land Anthony, and not sure anything is probable yet.

Mann to UNC, Anthony to Duke. No reason to think anything else right now.

Lacks the height part but def can shoot with pg skill
6'1'' is not amazing but not terrible either.
Anthony to Duke is contingent on A LOT of things. Honestly I think Oregon and even Nova may be more likely. Word is the Anthonyās werenāt that impressed with the whole Duval experiment at Duke and for sure donāt want to play alongside Tre Jones. Kansas should be on his list and may get an OV but Iām not too hopeful about anything serious.
UNC is the favorite, but KU sits better with Tre Mann than most believe.
Jacobs is playing well but not getting a lot better. I certainly have questions about his long term ceiling. With Frank I never did. Heās a freak show of an athlete and a great leader. Jacobs isnāt either of those (at least yet).
@jayballer73 most people around UNC think KU is the definite leader and will be an upset to land him.
Until I hear differently from people in the know, I fully expect JRE at Kansas. People tend to ignore his momās family, the Robinsonās. Theyāre as big of KU people as youāll find anywhere on the planet.
James Wiseman and Cassius Stanley to visit KU. Not really sure why since neither are coming to KU but might as well get them on campus and see what happens.
I was just putting Mitch in the group that has some chance of leaving. Itās pretty remote and it would have to be Mitch as the victim of a scholarship crunch.
@jayballer73 from what I heard itās not that at all. Itās insurance against something unexpected. Thereās a good chance we lose Silvio, Mitch, or KJ Lawson at the end of the year. If a top 30 guy with a sky high ceiling wants to come to your program and develop, you say yes and worry about other things later. He wonāt scare off JRE or Hurt.
@BeddieKU23 for sure. I donāt think heās ready to be a real contributor as a freshman, so that could work in our favor. Nnaji would at least be behind Hurt, JRE, McCormack, and possibly Lightfoot.
@BeddieKU23 agreed. It fills some immediate needs and allows us to really hone in on Hurt and Cole Anthony/RJ Hampton. Depending on the scholarships, I could see us taking Nnaji in the fall too just as insurance for Silvio.
UNC is going to have quite a few big men back along with Bacot. PT isnāt plentiful for JRE. At worst heās the 3rd big here.
Donāt worry about getting bigs. I think JRE and Hurt are still coming. JRE after Late Night and Hurt in the spring. Donāt be surprised if Sam Williamson pops early for us too. Beyond that itās a little hazy. Nobodyās really sure whether RJ Hampton will go to 19 or stay in 20 (I think the latter) and nobody has a good read on Cole Anthony. Josh Green is going to UNC. Precious is probably staying in the northeast. Thinking UConn right now but thatās probably a spring decision too. Watch Jalen Lecque in the spring. He can go pro, but heās doing his prep year at Brewster. KU has a great relationship with those guys. If KU needs another guard theyāll turn up the heat there.
90% sure itās UNC for Green.
Wouldnāt surprise me if Silvio played himself into the draft.
I like Green a lot. Itās going to be really tough to a wing of his caliber with Garrett and KJ coming back. Now if KJ decides to go pro after this year, thatās a different deal. UNC and Arizona are the top 2 right now IMO.
At this point I think we try to get a visit and see what happens. I think thereās a chance we lose 3 bigs so might as well take 3.
@Woodrow Bacot has always wanted Duke more than UNC, and looks like Duke is going to take him as their second big guy in this class.
New name to keep an eye on. Zeke Nnaji. We offered today and shot right to the top.
Update on the JRE front. Theyāre selling Bacot up 15-501 to Dook to try to clear the way for JRE.
Happy for Roy. Never had anything against him. UNC is a great place to coach and his alma mater. He picked up where Larry left off and set the stage for Bill. Shouldāve had 2-3 titles, but the tournament is brutal. Glad things worked out for both programs.
Iād cross Josh Green off our list. UNC offered and theyāre pretty confident.
UNC just offered Mann. Probably a good fit. I think Kofi stays in the NE but never count out Norm. Weād have to miss on Hurt or JRE to land him though, which I donāt see happening.
DJ Jeffries decommitted from UK. Heās going to Memphis.
Bama for Lewis IMO. I think heād be a really nice RS candidate at KU if he was into it though.
Mannion probably Zona, though Duke could be a factor later on.
