@jaybate-1.0 he’s the absolute perfect 3rd big for this team. Can play either frontcourt spot and has a pretty diverse skill set for how big he is. Nobody else is getting a rebound when he and Dedric are on the floor at the same time. There’ll be some games where he’s the better option at the 5 than Doke.

2019 Recruiting • Sep 13, 2018 02:27 AM

The staff feels like they’re in it as long as they get a visit. Which should happen. SC is probably still the favorite but it’s not a total lock like the CB would have everyone believe

KU going to see Cassius Stanley. They’re really a player here.

I really doubt it.

Cool story

2019 Recruiting • Sep 12, 2018 09:16 PM

KU going to see Cassius Stanley. They’re really a player here.

2019 Recruiting • Sep 12, 2018 04:12 PM

@BShark barring a spot coming open if Hurt decides early for not-KU

2019 Recruiting • Sep 12, 2018 03:45 AM

Crazy big. KU was in for Precious today too. Definitely casting a wide net at this stage.

Latest Scuttlebutt on DaSousa Please • Sep 10, 2018 05:16 AM

As far as I know he’s going to play.

2019 Recruiting • Sep 04, 2018 07:17 PM

That was certainly unexpected. And positive. Methinks KU is now in a better spot for Anthony.

Do the ā€œUnofficial Visitā€ players spend time with current players, get tours, etc? Other than paying their own way, what’s the difference? Thanks in advance!

They’re in town for a shorter period of time. A lot of guys within driving distance just come for the the event and the next morning.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 31, 2018 03:56 PM

Yikes. Well can’t get them all right I guess. Also really bad news for KU. Duke all the way here.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 31, 2018 03:41 AM

Ha! Yeah couldn’t resist the Mizzou dig. Let’s hope we don’t need to take him come April. Seems like a prime year to add mid year transfer. We have the open scholarship and guys are leaving more often mid year.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 31, 2018 03:24 AM

Is Mizzou really P5 tho

2019 Recruiting • Aug 31, 2018 03:11 AM

Visited KU today apparently. Maybe they’re thinking he’ll pull an Ochai his senior year?

2019 Recruiting • Aug 31, 2018 03:05 AM

Honestly was hoping we could snake him as a walk on haha

2019 Recruiting • Aug 31, 2018 01:20 AM

Memphis is going to have a monster haul this year. But I don’t think Hampton will be in it. Don’t read much into the OV. Remember guys can take 15 now instead of 5, broken up by year. Still Duke and KU in my mind.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 31, 2018 12:45 AM

@jayballer73 I’ve got Memphis FWIW. KU is playing nice because he’s family but they won’t be heartbroken if he goes elsewhere. Of course that could change if he plays really well at Oak Hill this year. As of now, meh. More of a RS/developmental guy.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 29, 2018 02:53 PM

@Woodrow he tweeted about news coming Friday and a little birdie told me this was it. I think Duke or KU. Memphis is too much of an unknown for a lot of top guys yet. KU has something neither can sell right now: a guaranteed role and history of developing great guards.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 29, 2018 01:37 PM

RJ Hampton going to 2019. Get ready for a fight.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 29, 2018 01:20 AM

@jayballer73 same. I will say most fans not on the internet are really cool. Kentucky fans excluded.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 28, 2018 11:55 PM

Haha I’ll take all that crap and then some if we got Wiseman.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 28, 2018 11:40 PM

Can’t hurt to have JRE in Wiseman’s ear. Because those two would be a filthy front court. The Mann thing REALLY surprised me. Word around UNC was it was done.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 28, 2018 07:21 PM

KU scheduled an in-home with James Wiseman and he’s coming for Late Night. Might as well take the free trip I guess. Because he’s staying home.

Lock city. He may take all the visits but it’s KU barring a stunner.

Yep. From what I understand it was just a matter of KU/the staff making him a priority and they did.

@Woodrow from what I understand the staff liked Oscar but knew he is a lock for WVU.

Yup. The staff isn’t taking commitments from bigs unless their names are Hurt or JRE until further notice.

Do you think the likelihood of Anthony landing at KU is as about as good as me joining the priesthood tomorrow? lol. - - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Ha! It’s somewhere north of 0 but still in the same zip code.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 25, 2018 04:51 PM

@BShark there’s just a lot that has to happen for anyone to land Anthony, and not sure anything is probable yet.

Mann to UNC, Anthony to Duke. No reason to think anything else right now.

Lacks the height part but def can shoot with pg skill

6'1'' is not amazing but not terrible either.

Anthony to Duke is contingent on A LOT of things. Honestly I think Oregon and even Nova may be more likely. Word is the Anthony’s weren’t that impressed with the whole Duval experiment at Duke and for sure don’t want to play alongside Tre Jones. Kansas should be on his list and may get an OV but I’m not too hopeful about anything serious.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 24, 2018 08:33 PM

UNC is the favorite, but KU sits better with Tre Mann than most believe.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 24, 2018 05:44 PM

Jacobs is playing well but not getting a lot better. I certainly have questions about his long term ceiling. With Frank I never did. He’s a freak show of an athlete and a great leader. Jacobs isn’t either of those (at least yet).

2019 Recruiting • Aug 20, 2018 09:22 PM

@jayballer73 most people around UNC think KU is the definite leader and will be an upset to land him.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 20, 2018 05:46 PM

Until I hear differently from people in the know, I fully expect JRE at Kansas. People tend to ignore his mom’s family, the Robinson’s. They’re as big of KU people as you’ll find anywhere on the planet.

Dam guys somebody • Aug 19, 2018 05:14 PM

James Wiseman and Cassius Stanley to visit KU. Not really sure why since neither are coming to KU but might as well get them on campus and see what happens.

I was just putting Mitch in the group that has some chance of leaving. It’s pretty remote and it would have to be Mitch as the victim of a scholarship crunch.

Dam guys somebody • Aug 17, 2018 05:39 PM

@jayballer73 from what I heard it’s not that at all. It’s insurance against something unexpected. There’s a good chance we lose Silvio, Mitch, or KJ Lawson at the end of the year. If a top 30 guy with a sky high ceiling wants to come to your program and develop, you say yes and worry about other things later. He won’t scare off JRE or Hurt.

Dam guys somebody • Aug 17, 2018 03:56 PM

@BeddieKU23 for sure. I don’t think he’s ready to be a real contributor as a freshman, so that could work in our favor. Nnaji would at least be behind Hurt, JRE, McCormack, and possibly Lightfoot.

Dam guys somebody • Aug 17, 2018 02:34 PM

@BeddieKU23 agreed. It fills some immediate needs and allows us to really hone in on Hurt and Cole Anthony/RJ Hampton. Depending on the scholarships, I could see us taking Nnaji in the fall too just as insurance for Silvio.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 16, 2018 03:45 PM

UNC is going to have quite a few big men back along with Bacot. PT isn’t plentiful for JRE. At worst he’s the 3rd big here.

Dam guys somebody • Aug 16, 2018 01:41 PM

Don’t worry about getting bigs. I think JRE and Hurt are still coming. JRE after Late Night and Hurt in the spring. Don’t be surprised if Sam Williamson pops early for us too. Beyond that it’s a little hazy. Nobody’s really sure whether RJ Hampton will go to 19 or stay in 20 (I think the latter) and nobody has a good read on Cole Anthony. Josh Green is going to UNC. Precious is probably staying in the northeast. Thinking UConn right now but that’s probably a spring decision too. Watch Jalen Lecque in the spring. He can go pro, but he’s doing his prep year at Brewster. KU has a great relationship with those guys. If KU needs another guard they’ll turn up the heat there.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 14, 2018 08:13 PM

90% sure it’s UNC for Green.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 10, 2018 07:54 PM

Wouldn’t surprise me if Silvio played himself into the draft.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 10, 2018 02:55 PM

I like Green a lot. It’s going to be really tough to a wing of his caliber with Garrett and KJ coming back. Now if KJ decides to go pro after this year, that’s a different deal. UNC and Arizona are the top 2 right now IMO.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 09, 2018 04:34 PM

At this point I think we try to get a visit and see what happens. I think there’s a chance we lose 3 bigs so might as well take 3.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 09, 2018 02:46 PM

@Woodrow Bacot has always wanted Duke more than UNC, and looks like Duke is going to take him as their second big guy in this class.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 09, 2018 03:27 AM

New name to keep an eye on. Zeke Nnaji. We offered today and shot right to the top.

2019 Recruiting • Aug 09, 2018 01:54 AM

Update on the JRE front. They’re selling Bacot up 15-501 to Dook to try to clear the way for JRE.

Roy Court • Aug 05, 2018 06:43 PM

Happy for Roy. Never had anything against him. UNC is a great place to coach and his alma mater. He picked up where Larry left off and set the stage for Bill. Should’ve had 2-3 titles, but the tournament is brutal. Glad things worked out for both programs.

2019 Recruiting • Jul 31, 2018 08:02 PM

I’d cross Josh Green off our list. UNC offered and they’re pretty confident.

2019 Recruiting • Jul 31, 2018 04:40 PM

UNC just offered Mann. Probably a good fit. I think Kofi stays in the NE but never count out Norm. We’d have to miss on Hurt or JRE to land him though, which I don’t see happening.

2019 Recruiting • Jul 30, 2018 08:19 PM

DJ Jeffries decommitted from UK. He’s going to Memphis.

2019 Recruiting • Jul 27, 2018 03:18 PM

Bama for Lewis IMO. I think he’d be a really nice RS candidate at KU if he was into it though.

2019 Recruiting • Jul 25, 2018 07:09 PM

Mannion probably Zona, though Duke could be a factor later on.
