As much as I like to see UK lose I don't want them to lose too much before we play them so their fans can't cry about how we only beat them because we caught them on a down year.

@drgnslayr I love the guard play on this team. This team can go a long way if they don't sleep walk through games and can stay focused. I don't think there's a team in the country and that can run with us firing on all cylinders like we've shown for stretches.

@RockChalkinTexas I've been around the last week or so! I disappeared for awhile, I started grad school and got buried under that. I'm better at balancing working fulltime now with grad school so now I have more time to be a board rat :) and thanks I actually stole it from a someecard that I saw on twitter one day ha!

I like what I'm seeing out of Graham. He is a throwback Bill signing. The type of kid that is in the middle of the pack that he coaches up and gets them o play at a 5 star level. That's not to discount our one and done guys but guys like Graham, Ellis, TRob, Withey, Releford, etc will always mean more to me because of their length of time in LFK.

this team will be the highest scoring team Bill has ever coached here. When we really want it we can score at will. Happy to see the FT numbers tonight! I knew we could hit them, glad they are showing it.

@DoubleDD don't get me wrong. I like Greene, he can be a huge factor for us this year. My point was more so that I would think he would make to have positive body language. he made a nice little bucket after the missteps. Smile

@ZIG I'm glad he does. If he plays with that confidence every night it will entice others to match his intensity. That attitude can carry us far come march.

@globaljaybird Baseball contracts are all guaranteed. That's why the Yankees got in trouble during their fallout with A-Rod during his suspension because they were trying to not pay him.

@JayHawkFanToo Indeed! I appreciate the humor. I too have fallen subject to questioning self at times but until we don't win the Big 12 for consecutive years he has earned our patience. We're all human and it's easy to get frustrated which makes it so easy to quickly point the finger at self. Sometimes I think he may lose on purpose or do something against the grain to get his guys to do what he wants them to do. We've seen what this team can do when they are firing on all cylinders. You gotta think the boys will come out firing after the way they let Harvard come back in their house. Maybe his plan was to motivate them, to show them that any team can beat them and that every opponent deserves respect regardless of competition level, record, or league.
@JayHawkFanToo HAHAHA not muslim. I have Christian values but I don't know if I'd classify myself as that either. I have my views on organized religion but that's a whole other conversation and I know that wasn't the point of your post :)
@JayHawkFanToo You make some very good points. I just thought the difference between the two numbers was odd because it was so big. I've seen before where they are 1 or 2 different but not 5 at least that I can recall off the top of my head.

@wrwlumpy They certainly have a beautiful campus! Can't wait o go to the game. I've been fortunate enough to be at every game in the Fieldhouse so far this season outside of the Harvard game.
@jaybate-1.0 I think we will have a small chip even though we are ranked #2 in the AP poll. We fell to # 7 in the coaches poll which is a little strange but I actually like it. I don't like us being ranked so high early especially when we've stumbled through a few games. A win is a win sure but you'd like to not have seen us blow a 16 point lead at home to Harvard. The same thing happened against Harvard that happened against Loyola, a barrage of made 3's close to half time.
@DinarHawk I can't wait for the game! IT's been a long time since Kentucky was in our house. I really want to be at that game. Should be a good preview of how well we've progressed from now until then and what we can expect come March.
@BeddieKU23 I noticed the LL wasn't out here mostly because we didn't have a slew of offensive penalties. I know Hunter had the one push off but it seems like LL has one or two every game and we give the ball back to the other team because of an unnecessary offensive foul.
The realist in me says to temper my expectations so as to not get disappointed but man it's hard to not come away from that game feeling really good about our potential to cut down multiple nets come the tournaments. This team has all of the tools and if they play every game like they did the second half yesterday they can beat anyone on any day.
I was at the game last night and I came away very impressed with Diallo. Even with his early struggles (which were to be expected) he played hard and stayed aggressive. That was one of the best debuts by a Kansas freshman that I've had the pleasure of watching. He should have had a 4th block as the one he got after the Karl Malone dunk looked clean even though it was ultimately called a foul. I loved that the building lit up for him when he got put into the game and when he was taken out. From all accounts he is very coachable and a people pleaser which bodes very well for us. I knew Bill wouldn't be particularly pleased about the theatrics on the dunk but when a kid goes through a battle like he did you gotta let him have a little fun out there.
Landen needs to be the one to lose mins. outside of the game last night Hunter has played well and he's been aggressive.
All very true statements! Just think of how great he could be if he stopped acting like a hot dog and removed his cranium from his anus!
@Crimsonorblue22 man I should have been in on that blog! my new quarter started at the wrong time and I got behind on work so I didn't have much time to play on the internet. I even wrote a paper while at a game ha! I'm rocking my WS hoodie and hat in the office today.
My buddy said that over on Jayhawk slant one of the mods over there said it was for getting mouthy with Self over his PT
@VailHawk That's what I was thinking I figured he got into a fight or something but what @BeddieKU23 said makes sense. I know at least one of his other suspensions was for weed.
@drgnslayr I haven't rewatched Game 5 in it's entirety yet. I was out at power and light during the game. I'm going tot he World Series Film premier on Monday but I was at every post season game at Kauffman this year. What an experience. Hosmer dashing home on that ground out was certifiably insane but because they were aggressive and took chances, their names will forever be etched in history. I don't think I've ever seen some many grown men openly weeping at bars. I wouldn't limit it to just bars if I hadn't been in the stands during the would card game last year and saw many more people openly weeping tears of joy. The boys got us all the way to KUbball season. Heck I even went to game 2 of the ALDS and then drove straight from there to Lawrence for Late Night. I've watched the 8th inning of Game 6 of the ALCS quite a bit and the 9th. What Wade did in the game is inhuman. That kind of grit can't be taught and we may never see it again in our lifetimes. This team could definitely take some lessons from the Royals on what it means to fight until the very end.
@JRyman that was my complaint the entire MSU game, Both Perry and LL had some balls roll off the rim that should have been dunked.
Just got an alert that Brannen was suspended for 6 games for conduct detrimental to the team. He won't be playing in Maui. When is this guy going to quit acting like a knucklehead? He's been suspended every year he's been here.
@Crimsonorblue22 I've been buried under grad school work, between that and the Royals playoffs games I was mad busy and forgot to log on and connect on here. Usually I'm buzzing over KU bball and can't wait to get to the season but I was so focused on the Royals I didn't realize how close the season was until my friend invited me to a pre season game. Went to a WS game and a KU game in the same week. What a time to be a fan! :) Now that I'm not busy with the Royals I'll be on here more in between writing papers. How have you been?
@joeloveshawks It definitely seems as if they were playing not to lose against MSU. I was at a bar with a friend and told her we needed to extend the lead ands he was like there's 9 minutes left and we have an 11 point lead. I said I don't care we need more and to run away. As we all know that did not happen. This team needs to take a page out of the Royals playbook. The Royals will rip your throat and heart out stand there covered in your blood and smile at you while they gain victory (graphic analogy I know). We haven't had a will kill mentality on this team in quite awhile. I think Kelly started to show that in the Big 12 tourney but he's gone now. Perry will get his points but still plays entirely too soft around the rim. I was at the home opener and there was a couple time he had the opportunity to put the ball through the hoop onto the opponents head and just laid it up and at least one of those floated off the rim for a missed easy bucket. Frank is probably the best example of the mentality that we need. If everyone played with his energy and tenacity we would be a team full of monsters. I do like that Brannen and Svi are driving to the bucket this year and actually making shots instead of staying on the perimeter all the time. This will open other areas up.
They need to clear him soon so he can get the in game experience against lesser opponents before we get to the Big 12 season. Would have been nice to have him for the MSU game as we would have had more rim protection.
