I would take the 7' Greek over either of them as he seems to be a player that will stay in the system longer.
A prospect is allowed to have 5 "official" visits, that is when the school picks up some or all of the expenses, depending on the school's budget and I would imagine, prospect's value to the school; any visits above that are considered "unofficial" and the school cannot pay for any of the expenses. Schools cover only the prospect's expenses and might reimburse the parents for car expenses only if they drive the prospect to the visit; that is the extent of what they can cover. Most prospects visit schools alone and when the parents come along they have to pay for their own expenses.
Close, Oahu...
If they are not eligible to play, they might not be able to participate in the prep games either...I just don't know, maybe some one has an answer???
Athletes are allowed 5 visits total with the expenses paid by the school; anything over that and they have to pay for it. I am not sure there is a limit on the number of visits a coach can make to a recruit's home, and every visit he brings along school gear, caps, t-shirts and so on; I would think there is a limit but I don't know what its is.
My point was that you don't necessarily need OAD talent to win the NCAA, just good talent and a heaping helping of luck. If there is justice in the world, Wisconsin would have won the Title and for the second year in a row a team without OADs would have won the title.
Since Brown is the last top player left, do you think he already knows where he will be going and he is just enjoying his moment in the spotlight and milking it for all it's worth?
Yes...but...
How good were White and Frankamp that could not beat the players that ended up in the rotation? Coach Self is no dummy and he will play whoever gives him the best chance of winning; White and Frankamp just were not it. You can cite early stats or any stats, but the reality is that neither was good enough to earn substantial playing time much less start.
Without the assist of the refs, Wisconsin should have won the tile and that would have made it two years in a row for Non-OADs over OADs.
If he only would be a Catholic HS player like Bragg and Diallo, it would be a done deal... :)
Trying to read Twitter is like reading encrypted code...whatever happened to actually typing words?
IMHO, I think you got it wrong. Adidas is not leaving the NBA market altogether; it is staying with basketball players individually but is no longer paying hundreds of millions for the privilege of providing unis to the league with the Adidas logo that nobody really sees. I would be surprised if Nike picks up that contract as the ROI is just not there; more likely Under Armour or a Chinese firm with lots of disposable income will get the contract for less than Adidas was paying. Just my opinion and I could be wrong.
I guess there were no decent "brownie" loving prospects available... :)
Never apologize for being a real fan...we could always use more.
Last time as i was at the Sprint Center our sets were fairly high but the view was surprisingly good and I don't seem to remember any pillars.
As an arena, there is no question that the Sprint Center is a more modern, better venue; however, as an environment AFH is the best...stands a reason why it is called the Cathedral of basketball.
If UK played in the Big 12, ACC or Big 10 he does not go unbeaten in conference play. He almost lost a couple of games in the weak SEC.
I agree.
If it is pronounced SHECK..why not just name him...well...SHECK? Inquiring minds want to know. :)
Diallo moves us from top 10 to top 5 team; with Brown or the Greek footer KU is a legitimate top3 team.
BRD? Is that Alexander? ISU brings everyone back except Hogue. OU and Baylor will also be loaded. KU will have to earn it once again...nothing new there.
I can't wait to see Diallo make Jameel McKay his beatch... :)
Like I said before...we are relying on you and your contacts...any news on Brown?
As per ESPN ↗KU is not even in the list for Mack...
Both Bragg and Diallo were recruited by Coach Roberts and Coach Self...I wonder who was Snacks recruiting? I thought Snack was supposed to be the "recruiter" but this term he brought nothing...not good.
Duke #8...ROTFLMAO...
3 Conference team in the top 10 (2,3,10) and 4 in the top 13. The Big 12 will continue to be super strong.
I said it before and I will say it again...trust thy Self... :) :) :)
I was in a conference call with a client and looks like I missed all the action... :(
Well...not quite...
This is what ESPN posted...
"The Jayhawks look to make it 12 straight Big 12 conference titles next season and will again be considered among the favorites. But the challenge could be even greater than the 2014-15 season with experienced teams returning in the Iowa State Cyclones and Oklahoma Sooners."
I don't read it as picking KU to win it but to be "among" the favorites. I believe the ISU will be the favorite since they bring most of the team back, including key pieces, and add a couple of players as well.
I guess you would have to be a friend to see the timeline. I noticed that the added a lot of UK related fiends recently...
His FB account has been quite since the 24th when he changed his profile picture. I think Twitter will be how he announces it.
Only if you want tea with scones...and you will have to hold the tea cup with your pinky in the air. I think I prefer to stay home and have me some Kansas steak...
I would respectfully suggest that some of you go to forums for other programs and see what their fan base thinks.
We complain that we do not get players but compared to most programs we do very well. Do you remember when you were a kid and stayed for dinner at a friend's home and the food tasted so much better than it did at home? ...and then, you friend stayed for dinner at your home and thought the food tasted so much better than it did at his home? It is human nature, we always covet have we don't have and take for granted what we have...there is an expression that is commonly used to describe it...the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence...or over the septic tank (thanks Erma Bombeck), the last one is obviously a reference to UK. :)
Like I said, go to other forums and you will be surprised how lucky they feel KU is compared to their own programs.
The college branded apparel market is huge compared to the NBA; the biggest portion of it, shoes, are endorsed by players individually and not by teams or the NBA at large. Until I mentioned in previous posts that the NBA teams wore Adidas unis, most poster did not even know this was the case.I think Adidas believes the money is better invested in college sports than in the NBA. Can't say I disagree with that.
Compared to basketball shoes, soccer shoes are very simple and can be made for considerably less than a basketball shoe; the price of both is high because of the name of the endorsers and not necessarily because of the cost of producing the shoes themselves.
Why would he develop more efficient post moves under Mullins? He was mostly a SG and a shooter and not a post or "near the post" type of player that Diallo is.
If he want exposure, St John's is not the place to go; the Big East is a shadow of what it used to be and he would get considerably more exposure in the Big 12 that will continue to be one of the top 3 leagues.
Duke is not in Diallo's final list.
Well..in Hollywood terms, Coach K is like Helen Mirren and Calipari is like the Kardashians...all of them combined including Bruce Jenner who I guess is also a female now?
Coach Self would be Meryl Streep, of course, the best of the best.
Most of the stories about Ingram indicate he was Duke fan growing up. Nothing new there. It was simply overshadowed by the stories of the other players from his HS that went to UNC.
What makes you think Ingram went to Duke because of Capel? I would say he went there because it was the best local option and because of Coach K and in spite and not because of Capel, who has proven that he cannot coach at the top level and now is an assistant at his Alma Mater, the only place that would have him. He might think he is the coach-in-waiting when Coach K retires, but is there anyone that believes he will be the next HC at Duke? I certainly do not.
We all knew that he was a likely Duke get so I am not really bummed over it...now, Diallo, that is different and I would be bummed if we don't get him.
What makes you think that? KU seems to be the favorite for Diallo...
No big surprise as Duke was consider the favorite. Let's hope Diallo works out better.
And the winner is...Duke...
This site as well, subject to "signal quality"???
This station has a live feed and is supposed to be at the announcement...
The answer I was looking for was....it cost him his life...right?
...and how did that work out for Achilles? :)
ESPN - Ingram #3, Newman #10
24/7 - Ingram #3, Newman #7
Rivals - Ingram #4, Newman #8
A few month ago Newman was top 3 and Ingram a borderline top 10 and now the rankings have reversed and Ingram is considered the better prospect.
