I just checked the b12 stats. Ellis is third in points, and third in rebounds.
The two ahead of him in points are past 10th place. In rebounds.

He has my vote. Love it that he had his best game of the year yesterday while 2 of 3 of the second place teams lost.
I may be biased, but I think Barnes has plenty of class. Bilas was calling fouls that weren't and visa versa-as I said I replay plays when I question a call. At least half the time the refs get it right, 1/4 of the time it could go either way, like a charge vs block. Then there are touch fouls and guys who get hammered and there is no call at all.
Dead on. I was rewinding shots left and right-numerous phantom fouls, and no calls on both sides.
And as I posted yesterday Oklahoma was handed a victory at the end of the games by the refs.
So happy we got the win. Nice for Perry to shine on GAME DAY, and a great win in AFH for the 60th anniversary.
Even if everything is ok. Who needs this distraction?
WTH. is happening is right. The timing???
This stinks.
Just watched the refs give OU every call they needed down the stretch.
This stinks too.
@lincase
I can't tell you what to do, but I will be at a track meet during the game because I can DVR it.
I lived there from 79-81. Must have had an angel on my wing driving home from there to South County most weekends.
@brooksmd
DANGER WILL ROBINSON!!! Eyeburn warning. DO NOT click on Brooks "this' link.
@brooksmd
I hope I never have to see that gawd awful uni again as long as I live.
@drgnslayr
I can totally relate. (Never knew the MJ UNC short story).
I played a lot of bball after work in my 30's, and I could see the court and pass so much better then I ever could when I was younger-I even valued the ball more.
As for missing other opportunities-only a thousand times.
@KU-Flyer
Ah Lacledes Landing: Spent a lot of time at Muddy Waters back in the day.
Same here.
In St Louis there was a Busch League for touch football teams, made up primarily of teams from large apartment complexes. It was very competitive for touch-actually rough because there were a lot of former collegiate athletes playing-mostly kids in our twenties. We had at least two refs on the field. After the games we went to a bar at the center of the complex where a DJ played tunes (Donna Summer era)- And because so many young athletic males were there-the ladies would be there too. We all had to sign releases that Busch could film us and use it in commercials-alas I never got that modeling contract.
Saw Paul here in concert a while back (Still has a great voice) Anyway, he should be thinking of writing a new version, because soon it will be...."It was 50 years ago today."
My favorite shot from last year.. Especially after Ridley and body slammed Embid earlier in the season (and got away with it.)
@Crimsonorblue22
For. decades the KU track shorts were hot pink.
Don't care for the long waistbands. Get rid of them or at a minimum keep them waistband (1") length.
@Wigs2
Times have changed. Even if my father thought kindly of a kid he knew he would hold him accountable for something stupid like this. And he held me accountable too.
I'm sure the crowd yelling "F*&k you KU" was all fired up-thinking this chant is okay and there were those who were taking it a step further on the court. My dad would have kicked my butt for cussing at anyone.
And I hold my kids accountable as most in our community do-but in general our culture these days doesn't.
I still marvel of how the Japanese handled the earthquake/tsunami that devastated parts of the country including huge power outage issues and nuclear meltdown possibilities. And had zero social breakdown,
If you two gents will meet me for a beer summit-I'll buy.
Just saw it. Reading through the comments there is a link to the ESPN Joe Kay story.
@nuleafjhawk
I smiled at the tattoo line-then I laugher out loud when I read, "On his forehead"
During the game I heard a stat about Scott Drew that got my attention so I did some reading on Baylor bBall and HCSD.
I have heard comments on the board that he isn't liked. Maybe so but in my quick search I didn't find any dirt on him. One thing that got my attention is he never played varsity basketball in High School. He was a student assistant and later became an assistant coach for his father at Valparaiso.
When he came to Baylor the program was in shambles. Once the sanctions were dropped (2 or 3 years of them) the program took off.
Again-I don't know what the rumors are, but he has a very impressive record when you compare him to other coaches at Baylor.
Thank you Baylor- we needed some help.
Thanks Lumpy- After watching that I am in a GREAT mood.
@Gunman
Not sure I agree with you because I think winning six straight in March is brutal. If it were to come to another round you'd need the top seeds (say 20 teams) get a bye that first round.
@wrwlumpy
Sweet. NIT Banner-that's how we roll in the little apple. I have a photo somewhere of the Mizzou banner that shows a "ncaa appearance"
@BeddieKU23
Yes I am routing for Baylor- it helps our chances for # 11,
And this goes on all the time. In every conference.
@truehawk93
True Hawk, you speak the Truth. I went back and looked at a higher def screen and it was a KSU player, NOT Oubre. Totally my bad. Thanks for setting me straight. I will edit my other posts.
@truehawk93
Truehawk was right. She got in a KSU players face, not Oubre..
And it could have been a small male fan with long hair-I never got a look at the face but the person was very quick and aggressive for a girl..
As for the fan who went after Jamari and Elllis, the KSU police made an announcement: "They have an ID. & thank you for the tips and information".
http://www2.kusports.com/news/2015/feb/24/k-state-court-storming-drawing-reviews-several-org/ ↗
If someone can fix the link, this is the guy who makes a bee line and body slams Jamari screaming all the while, immediately heads towards Perry. Security stops him but he is still screaming and it sure looks to me like he is trying to fight through the guy to get at Perry. It was bad enough he took shot number one at Jamari-but then he immediately started after another player.
Now we all know Jamari could have destroyed this kid-but he didn't. I think everyone is lucky security stopped the kid short of blindsiding Perry because at that point I think ANY KU player who had already been chucked would have gone after someone blindsiding a team mate.
His ill-advised intent is clear. That's why KSU PO PO want him identified.
:large
We were watching here in Houston, and my daughter asked "What are they shouting?" as if she couldn't believe it. You could hear it quite easily "f*#k you KU." and I told her "it's what you think."
She said "They weren't the highest on my college list, but now they are off." (She plays AAU bBall).
Ditto. Grey and I suppose white is coming of what's left.
LJW has a Kegan write-up about it. There is a close up picture of the kid knocking Jarmari off balance -and a nice little note under the photo.
KSTATE POLICE WANT YOUR HELP IDENTIFYING THIS FAN.
In that same clip where a KSU fan made a bee line for Jamari off to the left you can see another kid go after Oubre and get in his face.
Pathetic.
I KNEW I should have DVR'd the game and waited on the outcome but my daughter wanted to watch it live.
That's it! I am not watching this team play live again. In 2015' if they ain't winning, I ain't watching.
I bet the KU hate will be off the charts when the mildcats sober up tomorrow. This gives them a big win but the dance requires more wins I think. They are nit-maybe ncaa IF the do something worthwhile now.
As for Weber-it might just guarantee him another year at KSU.
Ism pissed we lost but would be fine with Weber at KSU as a result.
As I posted earlier-this was the KSU Super Bowl for the players, coaches, students and fans.
What is next?
I am really pissed. But I deleted my post. Maybe tomorrow I will feel better. But right now I am REALLY pissed. PS. (Perry-sleep well tonight, you are a stud.)
@DoubleDD
Yep-we saw it when he left the first time. Unless he has groomed some asst. Coach much much better than the last things will change. But he is and always will be a special man/coach.
@BeddieKU23
Yes Mason is killing us right now.
@DoubleDD
Good call. For many KSU folks it is KU envy more than hate. Myself I envy Snyder's success. I will be shocked if his successor holds a candle to him.
@DoubleDD
I grew up in Kansas. My older sister went to KSU and she made it a point to put KU down before I ever decided to go to KU. This was early 70's. Silo Tech vs Snob Hill. Once I made it to KU I heard it all the time from high school friends who went to KSU. Of course Mizzou counts too.
But in my opinion KSU always hated KU more than we hated them and the same thing goes for Mizzou. That's how I see it.
I know the bBall and football records don't look like rivals in recent years-even decades-but the feelings are there.
I think we the wildcats bring it all tonight. They cherish the opportunity to knock KU out of a title. The only way they make it to the dance is beat KU and pretty much win out or win the Big 12 tourney. Both of those are very unlikely. So, tonight is their Super Bowl, and if they beat KU it makes it that much tougher for us to,win #11.
@VailHawk
No problem. It's a good joke and my skin is way too thick.
Also I remember ski trips back in the 80s to your area. I didn't get much heat as a Kansas visitor, but I remember folks weren't fond of Texans even back then.
@ralster
I edited my reply above-still on point with you-just wanted to elaborate.
RCJH.
@justanotherfan
After reading your post I checked into the SWC history and learned Houston was Johnny come lately-joining them in the 70's. I also think their own conference partners must have not valued them much during the next alignment as their were two groups formed, U of H was not part of either and went another direction by themselves.
As for TCU, they were playing musical chairs time and time again. They are lucky to end up in the Big 12.
@ralster
You are right on. I've posted this before-so scroll down if ya'll know it.
Next stage in Mizzou history: "Oh but KU, we still play you right?"
It happened here in Texas too, with A&M expecting UT to let them have it both ways. The UT folks I know say A&M can pound sand as well.
I know there are KU folks who want to play Mizzou. But I think they need us, not the other way around. So why would we reward the back stabbing Tigers. Think back to the last time we played. Down to the wire and we won. Bill Self fist pumping and screaming after the buzzer.
He cherished that victory-knowing it was the last game of a series who's beginning predates all of our lives.
Of course when the Mizzou bBall program gets turned around-and that doesn't take much in the SEC (see Texas A&M this year), you can bet the bracket builders will schedule a KU-MU matchup every time they can. And it will be MU's Super Bowl, just like so many teams we play every year.
@drgnslayr
So happy for you and mom dragon.
Just got home and have it on DVR.. Do I watch?
This link talks about Springfield college, not Springfield YMCA. All my life I heard of Naismith and Springfield YMCA, then Topeka YMCA, then Kansas University.
