2021-22 PER's & Stats • Feb 23, 2022 12:20 AM

@Kcmatt7 Just a thought- maybe our great offense leads to worse defense. If you go back and look at our worst defense, it was Doke, Devonte, Malik, ... that crew. They were also top 5 offensively. And they went to the Final Four. I don't think we have to be Top 5 in defense to make a run. I know everyone is worried that our defense will let us down, but the other side of the coin is we've learned how to score against the number 1 ranked defensive schedule in America. And we're 22-4, leading the best conference in the nation by 2 games. That's strong as horseradish.

Jayhawkfantoo, you're always welcome to post. I see your upvotes, so you might as well join the party.

Non-KU Games • Feb 21, 2022 11:21 PM

@BeddieKU23 I disagree. I think this has exposed Howard's petulance and anger issues that he has carried into games for a long time. Everybody looked the other way until the lid blew off. Howard has several altercations with opposing coaches- had to be restrained from going after Turgeon, etc. It was so bad that Turgeon wrote a letter to the B10 about it before their last blow up. And this isn't just from Gard and Turgeon. Lots of whispers and coaches remaining anonymous saying the guy is a hothead and a jerk. I mean....pressing the bench warmers? I think there's a real issue here that needs to be addressed or we'll end up with a college "Malice in the Palace". He probably developed that mindset as a player, and it worked for him. Being Coach is a whole new ball of wax, and he simply isn't emotionally equipped to be a coach, imo. Doesn't mean he couldn't improve, but he has no business leading a major college program when he's doing things like that.

TOP 16 Released- KU #1 Seed • Feb 21, 2022 11:08 PM

@drgnslayr I think Tech will run into some quick guards and get beat in the tourney.

TOP 16 Released- KU #1 Seed • Feb 21, 2022 11:07 PM

@jayballer67 I don't think any conference deserves a #1 seed, even if we're the best. I would put us as a #2 seed right now with a chance to move up to a #1. I have Auburn, AZ, Zaga, and Tucky as 1 seeds. We definitely have a chance to move up.

2021-22 PER's & Stats • Feb 21, 2022 02:14 PM

47th to 28th . I'll take it...

Non-KU Games • Feb 21, 2022 11:54 AM

@BeddieKU23 It's astonishing. Haven't seen anything like that since Woody Hayes. I knew when he went after Turgeon the guy was walking a thin line, but this is way beyond the pale. Here is a link to the Turgeon incident:

Non-KU Games • Feb 20, 2022 11:54 PM

This is the 2nd altercation Howard has had in the past 12 months with an opposing coach. He needs to be fired.

TOP 16 Released- KU #1 Seed • Feb 20, 2022 06:59 PM

@jayballer67 I see how we are ahead of them- better record, better SOS, better wins, etc. But the eye test tells me the stats are worthless. This is a good lesson to remember when we take the stats more seriously than our own eyeballs.

TOP 16 Released- KU #1 Seed • Feb 20, 2022 02:44 PM

I'm surprised they have Illinois as a 3 seed and Wisky as a 4. That needs to be flip flopped, imo. Gonzaga continues to skate with the high school schedule ( can't wait until we have a UCF conference game- pass the cheesecake!) . Amazed and grateful we're ahead of "Tucky, although I don't fully understand it. Tenn got run yesterday, so gotta figure Wisky moves up, and Tenn goes down a seed line. I also figure the AZ Mildcats move ahead of Auburn on the 1 line as 2nd overall seed.

TOP 16 Released- KU #1 Seed • Feb 20, 2022 02:38 PM

I guess we all saw the NCAA releasing the Top 16 yesterday. The B12 leads the country with 4 teams in the Top 16.

@drgnslayr LMAO.

Huggy Bear Game Thread • Feb 20, 2022 11:54 AM

The "theory" that is floating around about Zach is that Matt Tait just wrote an article about him. Article written- then he sits. And the same thing happened to Yes earlier in the season. Article written about Yes, then the next game he sits. I don't know if it's true- I'm just the messenger. That doesn't seem to occur with the starters- only the bench guys.

Huggy Bear Game Thread • Feb 20, 2022 03:11 AM

@jayballer67 We win by double digits, and we play pretty bad. Just wait until we start playing good.

Huggy Bear Game Thread • Feb 20, 2022 03:03 AM

I'm old enough to remember a time when we would've been excited to beat the Hillbillies by double digits...

@mayjay I hope he comes back. He's played on one foot practically the whole year.

Jalen • Feb 19, 2022 11:56 PM

@jayballer67 Man, I like the way you think! We win by 12.

Kenpom rating vs NCAA tourney success • Feb 19, 2022 02:11 PM

@approxinfinity I think OU's goose is cooked. They play at the Clones today, and then at Tech next game. No doubt they'll be favored their last 3, but that only makes them 18-15 if they win out ( assuming they lose at Clones and Tech). They would need some B12 tourney wins to get a chance.

The Clones have 4 winnable games and then they play Baylor, so they have a shot. I'm going to predict they make it, but they will be a low seed if they do.

TCU has the hardest path of all. They have games against 5 ranked teams left, and a home and home against WVU. Assuming they split with WVU, they end up 17-13 if they can't manage to pull an upset. A B12 tourney win along with the wins over LSU and the Clones could pull them thru, but I have my doubts.

Silo Tech has 3 road games left, 2 against ranked teams. I'm guessing 17-13, and once again it's another team that needs B12 tourney wins to secure a spot.

So, I'm saying we get 5 teams in, with a definite maybe on 6. The B12 has been devouring each other the whole year. I can't wait until we expand and get rid of this round robin crap once and for all.
