@nuleafjhawk They came out playing single-high safety M2M. Which is why the first quarter was so electric.
Then they were forced to go cover two, and with the Chiefs it is basically cover 4 when you see how far off the CBs are lol.
Which is where you get the dink and dunk offense.
I was mostly mad at Andy for not going for it 4th and one the first drive. Pat had the fumble in the redzone too. The game could have been over in the first half if not for those two plays.
Dave also just has awful timing.
You can see guys like Jeff Withey who are as unathletic as they come, but have just impeccable timing, can be successful. Same for Cole Adlrich. And even to some degree, Mitch for being like 6'6-6'7 has amazing timing which helps him blocking shots.
Some guys have a knack for being in the right place at the right time. Jumping up at the right time. Seeing the way the ball bounces off the rim. Blocking shots at the peak. Etc.
Dave, however, does not possess a single one of those qualities. He constantly looks like he is either a full second behind or a full second ahead and is just never able to time anything just right.

Yes, Dave will need to put in 15-20 minutes a game for this team to be successful.
If KU loses in the tourney because they run into a good front court it won’t be because KU played small. It will be because KU lacked the talent/depth to play big.

If Harris plays like he did tonight or anywhere close this team will not have issues scoring the ball. When him, Garrett, Ochai, Braun and Wilson are on the floor that is an elite passing/driving/shooting attack
