24 offensive rebounds for Oklahoma.
If only they could make their free throws.
And OSU is the anti-video game.
Trae Young is a video game.
Does Oklahoma St practice shooting ever? Yikes.
@bmensch1 I would agree with that. They need to start making shots. They also need to limit OU to one shot, though. They've already let OU get 15 offensive rebounds.
Officials are letting Oklahoma play West Virginia defense.
Oklahoma St needs to clean up their defensive rebounding.
It just means he'll make like twelve 3's when Oklahoma plays Kansas.
Oklahoma is getting drilled, though.
The selection committee can put them as a 7 or 8 seed in KU's region again. Yay.
I blame BShark. We all know you bought him that car, you swine.
I know, but he's a senior and he's leaving.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Clay also a senior. I know he doesn't really factor a lot into this discussion but ya.
I would guess Newman and Preston are gone and Doke will stay. I'm not sure about Vick.
If Vick stays that means there will be Vick/Grimes/Dotson/Moore/Garrett/Cunliffe/KJ and 2 of those 7 will see little-to-no minutes.
I think Doke's decision affects next season's team the most. If he leaves, KU is a really good team. If he stays, they are probably the favorite to win it all.
Doke/Lawson/De Sousa/Lightfoot/McCormack would quite possibly be the best frontcourt in the country next season.
How likely is it that Vick comes back?
I prefer smashing grapes.
@JayHawkFanToo I looked at it. Wasn't impressed.
@JayHawkFanToo I don't care how many points he has if he shoots 38/20/50 percent to get it. And I don't care that he has 6 assists or 3 steals if he turns the ball over 12 times. He had a bad game, which is okay. But to say it was anything other than a bad game is laughable.
@JayHawkFanToo Do you look at efficiency too? Because he shot 38% from the field, 20% from 3, and 50% from the line. He also had a 0.5 assist-to-turnover ratio and only collected 2 rebounds. I'm not sure how any sane person would consider that a good stat line, but do your thing.
That being said, I'm not condemning a freshman for having a bad game. He would still get my vote for NPOY right now.
I'm not congratulating KState or Bruce Weber but I'm glad that OU lost.
Kentucky also lost. Good stuff.
I usually am less angry about officiating the next day, but the technical foul on Doke was still bs. Let the kid play.
Was just about to say that, bshark.
Well Huggins was right about seniors stepping up. It just wasn't his seniors.
So proud of Grahambo and Svi.
lol Wayne Simien.
@Hawk8086 Yes but Tech has a win in Lawrence. If they get us in Lubbock I think they are in the best shape.
Not sure about that. Tech and OU both only have 1 loss and Tech already beat us in Lawrence.
Holly Rowe read your mind.
ROCK CHALKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
NEWMAN
Come on Newman sink these!
Ya okay. Nice job officials you took Doke out of the game.
West Virginia isn't used to having fouls called against them, so they get really mad when it happens. Even if it's an obvious foul.
Go knock em down.
Win or lose I love the fight. Let's go Jayhawks!
@nuleafjhawk Or if Doke could stay on it.
Graham wants to play. Anyone else?
KU's had some open looks that they need to make if they want to win a game like this.
This could be a very different game right now if the officials hadn't made a conscious decision to take Doke out of the game.
We need Jeff Boschee.
No matter how painful I will watch the game until the end. It may be very painful tonight.
The inconsistency is more annoying than the physicality. Udoka isn't allowed to look at someone but Konate is allowed to celebrate every time he makes a good play.
@Crimsonorblue22 No, only the WVU players are allowed to show any kind of emotion.
We have one. He's sitting on the bench because of the worst technical foul call I've ever seen.
If what Doke did warrants a technical foul then WVU should have been T'd up 4 or 5 times by now.
I don't think it has a lot to do with KU. Oklahoma is better than people expected them to be mostly because of Steph Curry. Texas Tech is better than people expected them to be and Chris Beard has done a great job with that team. West Virginia was a little underranked to start the season (11th in the AP). I never understood why they weren't a top 10 preseason team with arguably the best two-way guard in the country in Jevon Carter. TCU has played well despite some tough losses lately. Overall the conference has just played well.
Mostly, though, Oklahoma and Texas Tech have both really exceeded preseason expectations. Neither team was ranked in the Top 25 preseason. Actually Texas Tech didn't even receive a vote. Oklahoma only received 7. Now they're both Top 10.
"I hope you don't run into very many people like you who think anyone who does something slightly wrong deserves whatever they get."
I think you are exaggerating what I said a little bit to make your point. I don't think I quite said all that. And If I'm behaving like a jerk I don't mind if someone lets me know about it.
@mayjay Okay... I'm sorry someone punched you. Your situation is not really analogous to this situation though.
And sure, if you want to be as dramatic as saying that I'm condoning assault, by all means go ahead. I am condoning assault.
@Gunman Probably not, which is why I'm not sad when college punks who act like jerks get hit in the face. Maybe that will change his behavior going forward.
Remind me where I said it was a proper punishment? I said I don't feel bad for the students, particularly when they make no effort to avoid bumping into the WVU players.
The West Virginia players have to have more composure than that. The player should probably be suspended for a game or two.
That being said, Texas Tech is ranked in the Top 10 and was favored to win the game. Why are they running on the court? I don't feel bad for any college students who get punched in the face in that situation.
