@bskeet We turned it over 28 times and only lost by 2 to a pretty good team. I'm going with glass half full. Turnovers can be corrected.
Devonte Graham with 35 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, 3 steals, +/- 14 and the Hornets won 122-120. Awesome.
Hornets were projected to suck pretty badly but they're 4-3 now.
Good for Graham and that team in general.

I don't think a 2-point loss to a good Duke team is going to ruin the season. We have a lot of things we can work on and a lot of things we can get better at. I believe we can get to April if we can avoid turning the ball over 28 times in a game.

@HighEliteMajor How do you know what our best lineup is? We've played 2 exhibition games. The 4-guard 1-big lineup certainly seemed to work best in those 2 games. I think it's a little too early to be ABSOLUTELY sure what our best lineup is. You don't know.
Nor did I ever say that the 4-1 is our best lineup. I was talking about a lineup that would be the best match-up for Duke. Great reading comprehension, though.
I also don't think it would be a bad idea to put Enaruna on Hurt at times. His length would make it difficult to shoot over.

@mayjay I think Duke fans would probably watch the game either way. It's not unreasonable to have Duke as the favorite but you can be sure that ESPN's analysis in favoring Duke went so far as this: "We love Duke."

I'm keeping in mind that it was Pittsburgh State and you can't really take much away against a team like that, but some things that I took away:
Silvio grabbed 10 rebounds in 14 minutes. He also had 9 points. It's clear he's one of the best rebounders in the country.
Enaruna almost had a double-double with points and rebounds, and he also had 5 assists. He's an improved shot and dribble away from being a star, and he's long enough to be good at the next level.
I really like Braun - The way he plays within the offense, the way he carries himself, the way he helps up opposing players, his dreamy eyes. Makes me more optimistic about Kansas being good after this season.
Agbaji looks like he may have arrived. Everyone talks about Doke and Dotson and rightly so but Agbaji might steal some of the spotlight. I think he could lead the team in points, and there will definitely be games this season where he is the guy.
Just in general I like the vibes I'm getting from this team versus last season. More mature, more serious, better defensive, everyone getting along, players earning their spots, no drama queens.
No one quote this after we look like shit and lose to Duke by 15 and there's drama.

Just two good players letting off some steam. Nothing really happened. Towns missed his punch and then they hugged each-other to the ground. Embiid is the better player, though.
What was kind of interesting is what happened in the scuffle outside of Embiid and Towns, though. Simmons wrestled Towns to the ground like Steve Irwin wrestling an alligator. And then there were two Timberwolves fans yelling at Embiid post-brawl who ended up being Towns' parents. Just a lot going on there.
@FarmerJayhawk Apparently Vernon Carey Jr. has problems being engaged and giving 100% effort all the time. I'd bet he'll be better against Kansas, just because he'll be more excited to play against us than he was to play Northwest Missouri St.

I'm a little worried about De Sousa guarding Hurt if that match-up happens. I know Hurt was 0-3 from 3, but he was 8-16 from the field overall, and Kansas has a pretty long and depressing history of opponent's big-men deciding to transform into Steph Curry when they play against us.
I'm not sure Duke wants Tre Jones taking 15 shots a game. A few of the freshman are going to have to step up and handle the scoring load for Duke to be elite this season.
