Potty mouth?

No, tend to post too many sometimes. Just trying to give others a chance to respond.

I want to see Iowa State play. See how real they are.

2021-22 PER's & Stats • Dec 13, 2021 10:33 PM

@BeddieKU23 right. If he doesn't start doing something soon what is the point of ever starting him?

IDK, I've seen too many KU greats flame out in the NBA that I'm decidedly not hopeful for either. I hope I'm wrong of course, but our guys, just don't seem to be too successful.

As far as this season goes, it's been awesome to watch.

No doubt about that.

I'm not saying what they'll do once they get there, only that they're going to get there and bank. Personally, I think that both will stick in the league. But Braun is solid and still growing. The dude might be 6'7 230 by next season, with an all-around inside/out game. He is O and D, and people feed off of and follow him. He's a winner!

Non-KU Games • Dec 13, 2021 05:38 AM

Baylor is good, but our wings and guards will beat them.

Agbaji and Braun • Dec 13, 2021 12:28 AM

Guess the question is, how high will Agbaji after this season and Braun after next (or this?) be picked? Not to rub it in,, but I remember saying - and everyone thought I was high - that Agbaji and Braun would be playing in the NBA.

I think Agbaji is a solid 15-20 pick. Braun, if he keeps playing the way that he is (and he will)? First rounder after this year, if he so chose. If he comes back with our being so young next season, top 15 pick. He will be scoring his ass off next season....

Agbaji and Braun • Dec 12, 2021 08:17 PM

Haven't checked, but Agbaji has got to be projected as a 1st round pick now.

Beating Missouri • Dec 12, 2021 08:04 PM

Man,,, has Mizzou fallen on hard times or what? That was a KU vs. Tennessee-Chatanooga score yesterday.

Agbaji and Braun • Dec 12, 2021 07:49 PM

@BShark very true, having a point is a good thing (having three even better). Remy felt the love yesterday, he's fixing to turn it on. Dave had a solid game too as did Harris. Hell, everyone did, Beatdown City.

@Texas-Hawk-10 agree, Braun has found himself. And he is not a two.

@jayballer67 oh I'm sure that Braun will test the waters. If he keeps playing at this level - and I think that he will - he almost has to.

Agbaji and Braun • Dec 12, 2021 02:28 PM

I have been an Agbaji fan since his freshman year, haven't wavered on that. Thought he would not come back for his senior year though or that he even should, just didn't think he would be able to improve his draft stock. Happy to report that damn was I ever wrong! What's he averaging now, 21 ppg?

Been a Christian backer too, what 18 a game? Think how far that guy has come since his freshman year. He and Agbaji's games are perfectly suited to compliment one another, and there is no doubt that this is their team.

Everyone talks about Devonte and Frank when it comes to recruiting steals and deservedly so, but what about Agbaji and Braun? This team led by those two has a chance to do something special, and both will playing pro ball (in the NBA, I think). What are your thoughts?

How many more players do you think we'll sign? A Top 3 four freshman class already, that puts us at the limit unless someone leaves early or transfers.

Heard that Wilson is all but gone while going pro and Cuffe maybe a transfer, that would give us one or two more scholarships. Other than those two, I personally hope that all of the others come back.

Border War Game Thread • Dec 11, 2021 11:56 PM

DVR'd the game, watched it late. We showed up,, no doubt. Happy birthday @BShark!

How many times now has Pearl been spanked? Surely that has something to do with it.

That's what I like about what Auburn received. To the NCAA he being the recruiting felon that he is - at every stop lol and they were straight out busted - Pearl and Auburn still didn't receive a postseason ban.

As of now, Duke and Kentucky recruiting hasn't slowed though UNC's seems to have somewhat fallen off. I thought, seeings how K is done after this season coupled with their and Kentucky's abysmal records and non-dancing last season that both programs would take a recruiting hit. But no!, the ol' trusty Nike affiliations came through once again.

Not that I care much, we're good. Coach is recruiting and building an absolute monster come year after next and the one following. And that is in no way discounting this year - 8th in the nation, afterall - or next.

With all of the NCAA crap that we've been dealing with for going on four years now it's amazing what Self has been able to do, really.

@BeddieKU23 As Mr. Glass-Half-Full-Guy, I want to believe that if the NCAA only gave Pearl a two-game slap on the wrist, KU might get off pretty lightly too.

Might be apples and oranges, but I'm hoping for the best.

And more importantly they got no post season ban.

@wissox just a couple of elite 8s if memory serves.

Tyus Edney, I believe, took away their best chance by driving the length of the court in something like negative 2 seconds. Maybe faster than light, because Mizzou players looked like they never saw him.

Yep. the Tyus Edney, Ed and Charles O'Bannon team. Harrick was the coach, right?

@wissox just a couple of elite 8s if memory serves.

I remember that, "sit down Norm!" He even joked about it. The guy coached his ass off.

Yesufu after this year is 3x2 since he hasn't used his redshirt year yet. But I don't think he's going anywhere. If it's me, I'm going Pettiford Yesufu Braun Rice Udeh/Clemence. I don't think Gradey will be quite ready to guard at KU level yet. Yesufu is almost there now.

I'd be alright with that lineup too

@wrwlumpy Believe it or not, I just watched that movie for the 1st time about two weeks ago.

Border War Showdown... • Dec 08, 2021 11:43 PM

Gee, wonder if they regret running Quin Snyder out of town?

2022 Recruiting Thread • Dec 08, 2021 07:30 PM

Yesufu has two years of eligibility left after this season, right? Two things that we need to snag from the transfer portal, a one year interchangeable big and an outside shooter.

I just don't see Yesufu really cracking the rotation for big minutes next year either. This is his 3rd season in D1 CBB and he's getting beat for minutes by Pettiford. Harris has more eligibility left than Yesufu too. There is no way for Yesufu to start at KU the way it looks today.

Why would he stay?

Idk, he'd be in the rotation of 3 guys for 2 spots most likely. He's already better albeit slightly offensively than Harris and I think his defense will really get there.

Agree.

2022 Recruiting Thread • Dec 08, 2021 07:27 PM

@Kcmatt7 he's got 2 years left after this season.

2022 Recruiting Thread • Dec 08, 2021 07:22 PM

Starting lineup next year (what I think will be, not what I necessarily want)? I'll go with Zach at the 5 (muscle up, get a haircut to keep it out of your eyes), the rest hinges on Rice. If he's here, start him at the three with Braun an undersized 4 Yesufu at the point and Dick at the 2.

2nd 5 - Udeh, Martin, Zuby and Adams (I think he'll work on his ballhandling/shooting skills), Harris and or Pettiford.

The whole makeup of the team depends on three things. Will Braun be back and will Rice be on campus? And, ofcourse, who else do we get via the transfer portal?

2022 Recruiting Thread • Dec 08, 2021 07:02 PM

@BeddieKU23 we'll be young no doubt. Braun is the wild card at this point, hope he comes back.

This KU team can get up by or down by double digits against just about anyone I think lol.

Absolutely correct and can do it in lightning speed... especially as we start pushing up the tempo!

I am soooo ready for Self to push these guys to up the tempo! I know it takes practice to become efficient... but I think by conference time we will be pushing the pace more than now!

This team doesn't have the defensive abilities to play as up tempo as a lot of people want to.

They have no choice but to. The skillsets of our players demand an up-tempo run style, the D feeding off that. We don't have the enforcer(s) inside to play mostly half-court sets. We don't. The frontcourt depth and talent is coming next year (and I think Cam Martin will surprise), but this year it's just not there.

CB is a driver first, shooter as a byproduct of guys leaving him open. That's been his game, including high school.

You got it, he likes to drive to the inside and make things happen. Then when in the flow of the game he shoots the 3. I've been impressed with how he attacks from both sides, and his improved power and ballhandling.

The ball moves a lot better with Harris in. Hopefully as other guys get more comfortable in the system they move it better, then there would barely be a reason to play Harris. Bill loves him but he would be better off the bench situational
