@BeddieKU23 that's what I think he'll be, a more than average defender (he has size), and a guy that can stretch the floor. Dave will undoubtedly start, but I'm thinking that Martin will fit in very well with this team as far as kickouts and passing, things like that.
Dick, Zuby, Rice and Udeh, great class! And we'll add a transfer or two, I am quite sure. Things are back on track, perhaps the staff and university knows a bit more about the nerverending NCAA battle than they let on.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, will we get punished? Yeah, they'll give us something just for GP, but it won't - because it can't - be too severe.
@Texas-Hawk-10 agree with some of your points, but this team has the ability and depth to bigtime full court press. And that would feed our offense.
Granted, I know that coach has never really done so, but if ever a time it is now. The depth and speed at our guard positions and abundance of 4s almost mandates it.
Btw, I think that some are sleeping on Martin. He'll be a better defender than many think, and will average about 9 ppg. He'll have the green light to shoot anytime that he is open.
Alot of the silence comes from everyone being burnt out on the neverending NCAA investigation, but I'm still paying attention and posting.
I think that we, taking a look around at the college basketball landscape, stand a great chance to be bullies this year. My favorite NBA team? The Bad Boys. Defense wins.
He had to go, no doubt. True, the emails are old, but they do more than show his true nature.
@AsadZ overthinking things, instead of just letting it fly like he did before.
@Kcmatt7 Right! Texas and Cali loaded with talent.
Watch, they'll scoop up Urban Meyer, and they shouldn't. Granted, in college he does nothing but win, but...
And the running game shouldn't be bad. I'm starting to think that there might be a reason for Bienemy not getting any serious looks to be a head coach. Maybe after this season, renab one of the two OCs that we lost? That Spagnola needs to go, is a no-brainer.
Riley would be a fool - and I know that he isn't - if he didn't start Williams over Spencer Rattled.
Spagnola is obviously not cutting it.
Mahomes is forcing things. I realize that he almost has to since they have no D to speak of, but there has been no real offensive flow from week one - he, the offensive coordinator or both is and or are thinking too much. It might help if they ran the ball more.
Spencer Who? Caleb Williams time. If I were Rattler I'd go ahead and transfer now, because he has lost the starting job imo. If he hasn't, he damn well should. A totally different team with Williams at QB. The D picked up too. Rattler is rattled, period. It won't get better for him, atleast not at OU.
@approxinfinity I think they drink a huge amount at times, maybe not constantly. Witness any SB winner's parade!
Lol! @mayjay brings clarity!
You know, I never thought of it before, but this coupled with what has happened to Urban Meyer who owns a bar, leads me to believe that the pressure of winning drives many competitive people - especially those that cannot take losing - to drink. How much do you want to bet against my saying that damn near every coach and good player drinks? And I am talking about drinking what most people would consider to be a hell of alot.
@BeddieKU23 has he announced a commit date?
I'd be interested to know what Tim Tebow thinks about all of this.
It was a good win. I'm a new soccer fan, but stand by my assessment that we need to be more aggressive defensively. We can't always just outscore opponents, need to stop them from scoring. Alot of that may be due to our youth.
What will our class be rated, if he commits?
We have talent, just need to make it in this time. If we get in, we can shake things up. We need to be bullies now, instead of being bullied.
@BShark it was, and we have alot of talent. If we get in, we can shake things up. Unlike what it used to be, we have quite a few guys playing internationally who are doing very well.

Remember, he lied about the circumstances, and lied about having just been standing there innocently when the woman came up to him for a supposed 7 second interaction to which he said he did not respond (disregard that ass groping). And he had gone there when he bailed on his 0-4 team for the flight home just when any good coach would have provided some needed leadership.
This is a guy who wrote a famous book on owning your response to events--i.e., taking responsibility.
@mayjay thank you, that's all I'm saying. He talks about accountability, but by his actions clearly thinks that he should be exempt. Do I make mistakes? Yeah, many... But not like he does, and I'm not a college or NFL coach. They for good reason need to be set at a higher bar.

I think I’m just complaining. Don’t mind me. There are only a few subjects that interest me at the moment. Space exploration, Chelsea, USMNT and soccer strategy.
Did anyone other than myself love the Owen Wilson Bezos cowboy hat space exploration skit on SNL?
So Mitchell to where, UCLA?

@FarmerJayhawk like you said, our recruiting is definitely on the upswing. But I don't see Mitchell signing with us, since we already have a pretty good, gaming Dick and Zuby. I don't think that we'll sign Walsh either. Udeh would be a nice get though.
Same. A HS class of Dick, Zuby, Rice, and Udeh would be very, very good. Maybe take a transfer wing or guard if you want an extra veteran.
A lineup of Harris, Yesufu, Braun, Rice, and Udeh makes me very happy. Udeh is a legit anchor at the 5, where Zuby is more skilled and obviously Clemence can fire away from deep. And the depth is still there with Dick, Zuby, Clemence, Adams, Pettiford, and Cuffe
No doubt, a versatile and interchangeable, deep rotation with Dick leading the way.
I am going to refrain from commenting further since this is ostensibly a family website

I mean it’s fine to talk about it, I just don’t see any point in deriving whether he’s a good or bad person. At the end of the day, what does that matter unless you’re a Jacksonville Jaguar fan? I assume those exist.
Yes. He should have been toast even before he was hired on at Jacksonville. @approxinfinity he is not a good person, that is my point. Had I owned the Jaguars, I would have never even hired him.
@approxinfinity said in Urban Meyer not ready for primetime:
I won’t attempt to justify this guy’s vices, but I don’t see this as being the news that people should care about. Seems like a distraction from real problems. If you want to go after bad behavior that actually is f***ing everyone else on this planet and not just this girl at a bar, there are plenty of people doing just that. It’s not like this guy is the president of the United States. He’s a head coach of America’s greatest gladiatorial sport. It’s ok to bash each other’s brains in, but not engage in extra marital affairs? Seriously, I just don’t care at all about what Urban Meyer does in his free time.
Go on... I'm listening. Serious, I am interested in your opinion.
@FarmerJayhawk lol. I only thought about it (no photo), didn't act it out. Yet even if I had done so, I wouldn't be leading a millions of dollars per year football team, right?

He really should never coach again, tbqh
Agree. Coaches should be held to the same standard as players.

Question, what exactly happened with Miles? I mean, he was here what two or three years? I never really dove into it too much.
@Crimsonorblue22 Considering that it is starting to look and feel like he might be terminated after this season if not sooner after this latest episode, I hope that he atleast grabbed her ass. I'm joking, don't get all upset 😂
But to answer your question, he basically allowed himself to be compromised with a photo of him getting a half-assed lap dance. The guy is all but toast, a constant lack of judgement machine.
@Kcmatt7 I understand what you are saying and respect your opinion, but it shows a serious lack in judgement on his part - and it's one thing after another.
@Kcmatt7 come on man, I'm not a saint either, but couple this with all of his other decades long transgressions? It is time for him to go.
Is Walsh from Branson or does he just go to school there? If from there, KU would be pretty close to home.
All of the other stumbles aside, including his time at Florida and Ohio State and the numerous others already at Jacksonville, there is now a photo (and he is married) of him near drunkenly dancing with a young woman at a bar. He has all but proven himself to be an unemployable liability, at this point.
@drgnslayr who do you smell?

been hearing talk off the sports radio and now reading off other boards. Being said that Big 12 executives are watching closely as PAC 12 negotiates new TV deal in 2024 when the current agreement with Fox & ESPN expires. If the Pac 21 media rights revenues approximates Big 12 there is the feeling within the Big 12 thats some PAC 12 schools might be interested in joining. The schools being most mentioned are Arizona , Arizona State , Colorado & Utah - -with rumors of the BIG trying to get the Cal Schools USC ,UCLA , & the others make this more probable.
Then you got the AAC raiding the Mountain West this craziness is just getting started
Probably won't happen, but if the conference can snag Arizona and Arizona State, Colorado and Utah? That is a take and geographically sound.
I wasn't a fan of taking West Virginia, though realize that options were few. Not a fan of UCF joining either, just saying. I think that adding far flung, geographically disconnected schools can and will only add to conference instability - the SEC gets that.
I understand, it is now about adding dollars and markets. But what if we could replace UCF with Arkansas, and add Arizona/Arizona State, Utah and Colorado? And have New Mexico instead of West Virginia? Hmm? I know, pipe dream.
@FarmerJayhawk no doubt ancient stadium, needs to be replaced.

Will be interesting to see if they let Cincy in the playoffs after they go undefeated and just beat ND.
Agree, if Cincy goes undefeated they should be in. Georgia's D, good god!, I'd put them one followed by Alabama, Cincy probably 3. Then who? Don't sleep on Okie State? Rattler was solid for OU yesterday, but still,,, something has changed since last year. Red River next week.
Man, if ever there were a year for coach to go to a ten deep somewhat two-platoon rotation, this would be the year. We have when compared to other seasons a fairly soft non-con schedule, get 'em some PT and get ready for conference and tournament play. Remy is a small 2 volume scorer, Harris should start at point.
@approxinfinity said in Late Night 2021:
@Crimsonorblue22 thanks! Love Dajuan in transition even if it wasn’t full speed, his timing on those passes was perfect.
It's going to be hard, if not impossible, to keep him off the court. I think that he should start at PG.
Oklahoma looked decent against the pussycats, second half. But something is off offensively. The D is and has been solid, but Rattler (Rattled?) hasn't progressed like people thought that he would. Drinking too much of his own kool-aid?
Is it too late to change my CFB playoff picks? I'm no longer sure that OU is the best team in conference, let alone one of the four best nationally - no offensive flow. It looks to be Alabama and Georgia, and the other two who? For real.
Agree with all of you. Let's hope that he stops at one, thinking it not wise if he had a few. But in all seriousness, getting a DUI shows a lack in judgement to say the least.
Bigtime glad that fans are back in Allen.
@Crimsonorblue22 they put them on after they played. Point is, there is no point. Bigtime glad though that fans are back in Allen.
@Crimsonorblue22 said in Late Night 2021:
@Marco oh, they didn't play with them on? I don't know other than they asked everyone to wear masks.
You don't play band with masks on. They take them off when needed, then put them back on. Which pretty much makes putting them back on or even wearing them to begin with, a lesson in futility. America, get vaccined!
