Okay. I was thinking that they were just for decoration. I mean, the band members play without masks for long periods,, then put them back on. What's the point?

Agree. And what's the point, wearing masks? Just to say that we're wearing masks?

But for real, the mojo is coming back on the trail.

Yep, all day and everyday Udeh is a take.

@drgnslayr said in KU will pre-season be rated what, 2nd or 3rd?:

I agree with others... the Zags sit on top.

I wonder how Holmgren is going to do? He looks very thin, but inside/out skilled. He is obviously not going to be a defensive or rebounding warhorse, but has talent and is pretty athletic for his size. I wanted us to sign him, in a bad way.

That would be a major get.

@Texas-Hawk-10 I like Harris too. Looking at our roster, I can't help - and I like his game and saavy - but to think that Braun is going to see a decrease in minutes.

And while hopefully we arent, how overrated will Kentucky and Duke be? Not lying, I'm pretty excited about our team and this coming season.

Well seen this the other day , and saw again today off Rupp Rafters. 2023 recruit has been to KU. At the present time he is a 6'10 pg he won't end up being this in college , has decent handles but not pg handles for College. His name is Matas Buzelis out of Wolfeboro NH Brewster Academy.

If any others have more info other then what I post feel free to fill us in. Not sure why I'm wasting my time as other posters all they he is a lock for their school , so then guess there si no chance in hell for us to be involved lol.

Eric Bossi wrote him up saying they hadn't updated rankings for quite awhile but this kid currently 43rd but 32 generated composite is in line for big jump probably top 10 , right now he has unoffically been to U Conn , Depaul , Purdue , & KU and also planning on going to WF & Florida state.

Got this today of Rupp but like I said no chance cause poster from Arizona is Arizona's lock team to beat - -Another said he is a Duke lock & then Uk posters saying if Cal has been to see him and Cal wants him he is UK's - dam must be nice to just be able to lock up a kid cause people say so lmao. Don't even know why others recruit if thats the case.

He has had a huge group come see him at open gym almost all the big boys : UK - Duke - - N Carol - -Mich - -Illi - -Ariz - - Mich St - -Syra - -U Conn - -KU - -& UCLA so far
Just not sure Three Schools have him as a lock for their School and we know if they say so then so let it be written -so let it be done. - -there is only ONE problem. we have three schools saying he is a lock for their school BUT there is only ONE KEY - -dammit I hate it when that happens lol. - -Anybody have any info on the kid seriously. Does KU have any kind of shot with him ? He said he really enjoyed his visit loved the facilities let us know. - -B Shark ? - -Farmer ?

Matas Buzelis, yes! Didn't know anything about this guy, but bigtime baller!

@drgnslayr said in URPing in the Hollow Halls... (no... not "Hallow!"):

I had thoughts that having Covid keeping more people home... it would spark our site. More time, more involvement.

But I have to admit I watch less sports since Covid (but still as rabid for Jayhawks and Chiefs!). We had the live sports cancellations early on and it changed my habits and I've never looked back!

I'm a human once again... not just a sports wonk! lol

Ditto, bro. .. I've found a new appreciation for the little things (which aren't so little), such as spending time with my family and enjoying their company.

I mean, how long can the IARP/NCAA drag this damn thing out? How long would they want to? Wrap it up already! But the longer it drags on, I still think that it plays in our favor. What, going on four years now or more? They obviously don't have squat.

Ku Duke … Don’t Sleep on Kansas! • Sep 28, 2021 08:38 PM

@FarmerJayhawk said in Ku Duke … Don’t Sleep on Kansas!:

I was at the game. Man these guys play so hard. Defense was flying around in the first half, just ran out of gas. The passing game is coming along really well. Feels like Kotelnicki is learning a ton each week about what these guys do well. OL is still a a problem. Was nice to chat with some parents of players and get their feel of how things are going. Some frustrations here and there but you’ll have those growing pains. Gonna really suck to be without Kenny for the first half next week. On we go.

I like your honesty, Farmer. And you're right, steps in a good direction. We have our coach, now need a new stadium. Some will ask, "why?" I'll answer with, "because that's the way that things are."

Landing one of those guys is a must. We'd be without a true big, otherwise. I know that Dave could potentially come back for another year, but does anyone expect him to?

It Could Be Worse • Sep 12, 2021 01:10 AM

Ohio State goes down! Thank you, college football gods. I will (for now lol) stand by my playoff picks - Alabama, Oklahoma, A&M and Cincinnati.

Big12 expansion • Sep 12, 2021 01:04 AM

@ICThawk I understood what you were saying. Sorry, wasn't trying to imply that you meant otherwise. I don't think that we or any other Big12 school - including the four that we just added - are ever going to get another invite. What we have is what we have imo, and we have to go with and make the best of it.

Goolsby has not ruled out further expansion, beyond the twelve. I am not in favor of it, unless (and it is damn near out of the realm of possibility, but not quite) that means welcoming Missouri, Colorado, Nebraska and A&M back into the fold. Wouldn't that be a coup.

My gut feeling? We're not going to get any offers. Time to settle in, and make a true Big12 instead of 10 work. It is done,,, no one wanted us. We need to move on.

People out here are still in shock after Washington lost at home to Montana....first loss to the Griz in over a century. Offense scored first, then played possum the rest of the game. Defense played okay but got worn down by the 4th quarter.

Everybody was looking ahead to the game at Michigan this weekend. Now I'm surprised that the spread is only a touchdown.

The Huskies went into the season with a national ranking and a chance to contend for the Pac-12 title. Fans not so sure of that now.

Michigan is going to beat Washington, mark it. The Pac sucks.

@mayjay

That could help some in football, but again, if you're recruiting in football, you will find more players year after year in Florida, Texas, Georgia, Louisiana, Ohio, etc. than you will for Pacific Islanders. It's a numbers game. BYU may help KU get 1 player a year. A school like Memphis or Tulane could help KU get 3 players a year.

There were alot of upsets, no doubt. This was really not an upset but I'll say it anyway, Clemson is not going to the playoff. Infact, after watching the Notre Dame - FSU game, though the Seminoles lost, people had better start paying attention to them in the ACC.

I tell ya what my friend. Georgia looked REALLY good. I mean REALLY good. - -very quick , fast their linebacking core is SWEET. - - I think they had Clemson frustrated , looked to me as Georgia was in control of that game for the most part - -now didn't say all but I just thought Georgia was the better team

True. But Georgia did not scare me offensively. I still think that the four best teams are Alabama, Oklahoma, A&M and - wait for it... - Cincinnati... I think that FSU is going to win the ACC, and they aren't even rated right now.

Diehard FSU fan here, We are not winning the ACC

You don't think? I believe that they will be very competitive. UNC will be tough too, maybe they will win the ACC? But imo Clemson has serious flaws offensively. I wasn't too impressed with Georgia from the SEC either. FSU can score touchdowns. Notre Dame is not a chump defensively.
