Anyway, there is no way that Duke should be in the tournament. If they get in people will hear my scream reverberating all across our great nation šŸ˜‚!

I am so rooting for Florida State, and looking forward to Coach K and his team being too good for and therefore turning down an NIT invite.

Long Out • Mar 11, 2021 02:16 AM

I like Danny alot and am not knocking him, but he would be lost as an A.D. and with everything going on we certainly don't need someone who has to learn on the job. We need a steady, decisive hand, someone with experience.

Knight's '76 team was the last undefeated team.

Oh okay, I knew that... A total brain cloud.

Vaccine • Mar 10, 2021 02:39 PM

Fyi got some info from a person at KU Med who said that you should not take aspirin, tylenol, ibuprofen or anything else after getting the shot. More or less saying that you need to allow your body to do what it naturally needs to do...

Non-KU Games Thread • Mar 10, 2021 02:36 PM

@nwhawkfan agree. They would be a tough out.

Rumors • Mar 10, 2021 01:36 AM

In all seriousness, I say skip the Big12 tourney and get ready for the dance. At this point, playing in the conference tournament can only hurt our NCAA seeding.

Vaccine • Mar 09, 2021 04:59 PM

Which shot, Pfizer or Moderna? It seems with the very low temperature shipping and storage problems that the Pfizer vaccine has pretty well become the no bueno nationwide.

That guy can coach.

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Mar 09, 2021 02:58 PM

There is no way with all of these transfers entering the portal this year that we aren't able to nab one of them.

NCAA Tournament - Automatic Bids • Mar 09, 2021 02:55 PM

@nwhawkfan being lazy not googling. Who is the coach at Loyola? The same one who made that run a few years ago, whenever that was?

NCAA Tournament - Automatic Bids • Mar 08, 2021 06:38 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I think that it would be a shame if Drake didn't make the tournament.

Seems like a guy who you'd want on your team... I think he may be back at Columbia, but maybe not.

I'd be a taker if we had no other options. We'll have Harris back and I like him, but we need another guy also who can and will take shots.

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Mar 08, 2021 02:59 PM

Any good PG prospects?

Thrilled for everyone getting vaccinated! Probably still a month or two before they start handing them out like free colonoscopies, but eventually they'll get to me.

Mother-in-law (82) got her second shot Friday. Nothing. Yay! Friends, 65 and 82, got second shots last Friday. No probs for the older guy, but his wispy little wife (complainer) had a headache, fever and body aches for a couple days

Sister, 51, got her second shot last Wednesday (works at a retirement community) and she had a head ache that night (could've been a result of happy hour after work) but felt fine by the next day.

The health dept. gives the vaccine for free, no doctor's visit charge. I put my name in at the doctor's office, health dept. and VA, the health dept. calling first with no charge. Put your name on every list.

I wonder how many people who react strongly to the 1st shot might have had their immune system already "primed" to react by having had the virus without knowing.

I've thought the same thing, having a more severe reaction due to basically being subjected to Covid three times.

My mom said a lady in her 60's was sick from mon-thurs, went back to work fri, but not feeling great. Get this, just from her FIRST shot. She was 🤮 too. Yuck! Tmrw is my 2nd shot. Nervous. All of our teachers that want the vaccine are vaccinated. I have one friend and her husband that haven't taken it, not ready but won't say why.

You'll be okay. I know some people who aren't getting it too, a couple even saying, "I don't get the flu shot either." I waisted my breath by trying to explain that the flu doesn't kill 500 some thousand people in our country in one year.

Non-KU Games Thread • Mar 07, 2021 07:55 PM

This dance is going to be wide open... Calling it, neither the Zags or Baylor will win it. Call me jaded, but we have a chance. Look out for UNC also, a tough out for anyone. Another one, Syracuse. Cinderella is going to love this tournament.

Harris is a baller.

Vaccine • Mar 07, 2021 07:45 PM

Update - the health dept. called before the VA did (got me in on short notice), had my 1st shot (Moderna) Thursday, sore arm for one day but otherwise fine.

KU tune up game thread • Mar 06, 2021 08:29 AM

@BeddieKU23 I agree one hundred percent, think he be the most important component on our team, with Ochai and Braun being a close 2nd and third respectively. Both Ochai and Dave seem to receive quite a few of their what I call bucket dimes from Braun.

there has been times lately if it wern't for him we wouldn't need him in the 2nd half cause we be buried him being all we had in the 1st

Granted, that is true. But that does not mean that it is not an issue that he needs to improve upon for the rest of this season and next. The guy can absolutely dominate when he focuses.

1st half Dave not so much. When he plays well in both half's KU has a pretty good chance of winning

Agree. I'm not knocking the guy, just bringing up a valid point. It sometimes just seems that it takes him the entire first half to know and get into the flow of the game. The guy is vital to our team, but it is something that he needs to work on.

Jesus Christ, that was ugly.

Dekker, forgot about him. Good comp.

2022 Recruiting Thread • Mar 04, 2021 04:21 PM

The dude is going to star at KU. I'm trying to think of who he might remind me of, but haven't been able to come up with any comparisons yet. I've heard the Braun comparisons and there are worse people to be compared to if you're a player, but I think he's more skilled and athletic than Braun. What is he 6'8 and only a junior? Kyle Singler? The guy has handles to, could probably play point if need be. Dick and Cuffe, I'm starting to love this class.

2022 Recruiting Thread • Mar 04, 2021 03:02 AM

@FarmerJayhawk no doubt. And Dick is still young, he is going to get even bigger. He can penetrate at will, and even go ball deep at the rim. His ball skills are more than good, and he will get longer the more that he plays.

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Mar 04, 2021 02:52 AM

@jayballer67 that's not going to happen imo

Non-KU Games Thread • Mar 03, 2021 04:19 AM

I'm down with both Duke and Kentucky sucking (I don't root against Roy, he's class). All in all, it's already been a good season.. šŸ˜‚

Non-KU Games Thread • Mar 03, 2021 02:21 AM

@nwhawkfan Baylor will lose in the Sweet 16. . I'm feeling it. Another prediction - KU is going to advance further in the tourney than any other Big12 team. They have to accept their role as bullies.

2022 Recruiting Thread • Mar 03, 2021 02:09 AM

@BeddieKU23 agree. I think that he has big upside. A team with a frosh Dick and a senior Braun, I'm onboard.

2022 Recruiting Thread • Mar 02, 2021 06:54 PM

@jayballer67 okay, I'll stop. But in all seriousness, I'm a Dick guy. I think that he is athletic and bigtime skilled, and will only get better - including on D - under Self. He is an in-state future pro that we must sign.

Rankings • Mar 02, 2021 06:49 PM

Not a Wichita State fan, but their coach definitely deserved with everything going on around their program to have the interim tag removed.

Return of the Red Jersey's Game Chat • Mar 02, 2021 06:46 PM

@jayballer67 I'm with you, it wasn't all rust. They got bullied by us, which is how this team can advance - they have to be bullies.

Return of the Red Jersey's Game Chat • Mar 02, 2021 06:22 PM

@COHawk Braun was a steal.

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Mar 02, 2021 06:21 PM

So, I'm taking bets, I say that Coach K retires after this season. If he does, who'll take over the Duke program and what will become of it?

They have fan support of a Top 5-6 ACC team from that era so your right, if you build it they will come. However building it has been a major issue. Capel had some momentum but its stalled in a major way and looks like its headed even further down. Their recruiting/transfer ability has been abysmal with Capel known as the bag guy when he was at Duke

That's why I say that after this season he'll probably be gone.

2022 Recruiting Thread • Mar 02, 2021 03:31 PM

Come on Jayhawkers, all of us in unison start the chant, "we want Dick! We want Dick!"

I'm proud of our team.

Return of the Red Jersey's Game Chat • Mar 02, 2021 03:20 PM

That was a bigtime win. Keep those lucky red unis. But the win was not due to luck, they outplayed Baylor (though true, Baylor had to be rusty - e.g. their bearly beating the Cyclones). The win bodes well for us come tourney time. With a few breaks here or there, who knows?

2021 Transfer Talk/List • Mar 02, 2021 03:16 PM

This class has the potential to really turn things around. I’d like to obviously close the deal on Dick and then get Shaw as well. MOKAN and Sunrise are two pipelines we need.

No question there. The Sunrise pipeline needs to open up, and we have to stay on Mo-Kan. Imagine what our team would've been this year without Mo-Kan.
