@AsadZ That is what I am curious about.

Okay, I'll say it, I would prefer that Mitch move on, but maybe Coach knows something that we don't. Teahan is a walk-on, so it doesn't matter.
How does bringing Mitch back next season hurt anything? He doesn't count against the scholarship limits for next year so nobody has to leave to make room for him. With 3 new bigs coming in next season, is having someone like Mitch who can help teach those guys the system when Self isn't around really a bad thing? Self also still needs a back up for Dave so why is having Mitch around a bad thing there? If Sydney Curry is good enough to fit that role, then it's his, if not having Mitch will fill a very large hole in the rotation.
I misunderstood, wasn't sure how the scholarship thing was working. If he doesn't count against us, it's great that he's coming back.
Signing both Dick and Shaw would be huge. Dick is an in-state must get, imo. He is skilled and athletic. We've whiffed on too many in state players of late. The talent level in Wichita and KC is pretty damn good, mine the hell out of it.

@Crimsonorblue22 Interesting. Then the avian flu would undoubtedly cause it as well.
@BeddieKU23 Here in my neck of the woods southeast Kansas med professionals and staff were the first to receive them. They started giving the vaccine to seniors about a month ago. I'm on both the health dept and VA lists, haven't been able to get mine as of yet.
I took my 78 year old mother to get her first shot last week, no ill effects. Just wanted to put that out there for an FYI.
@nwhawkfan The nation is waking up to the fact that we have to live like we are living, not waiting to die.

No worries, David from everything I've ever seen is a great kid and he means well. There was a recent interview done about Dave where coach Self said that he is a perfectionist at things which can cause some of his growing pains. Kid has gone through a huge body transformation from when he weighed over 300 pounds in High School. He has the drive to be good and that is something to applaud in him.
But I agree the things he did against Texas that were negative are maddening. I'm guilty as heck at reacting to that in the moment
I have been too hard on Dave on numerous occasions, but am glad that we have him. Imagine what our record wouldve been without him this season.
@Kcmatt7 Yep.
@BeddieKU23 not trying to argue here, just trying to get deeper into the debate. Are you kind of implying that Self isn't a flow of the game kinda coach? A serious question, for the sake of debate.
Baylor is going down tonight. They are rusty.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Very cool. I think that he is a future coach. I have on occasion been lambasted for bringing things up (whether true or false) about Marcus, but not one time have I judged his basketball acumen or heart.
Not so faaaaaast.... With the right seeding, this team can get to the Elite 8.
@BShark not weird. They are not the better team, look at their record and our's. Like I said and right on schedule, KU 2nd or 3rd in conference
@BShark and after tampering we can say, "who, us? Remember Scott Padgett?"
@tundrahok He is an unselfish player who has a nose for the flow of the game, but he definitely needs to shoot more.
We need a scoring transfer point guard no doubt, a gritty kid in the vein of a McClung and what he has brought to TT.
@Kcmatt7 I'm one hundred percent with you. Dick is a guy that we must sign. I can envision the scene in AFH now, a bunch of young women holding up signs that read, 'We Love Dick!'
@Kcmatt7 what do you think we'll receive punishment wise?
@BeddieKU23 If such a thing were offered and it would suck to not be in the tourney, I think I'd just get it over with and be banned this season rather than putting it off until next.
Call me dillusional, but I think we'll be damn good and deep next year.
@BShark Looks like a very underrated player.
I disagree. If he works on his ballhandling and shooting skills/defensive quickness I think that he has a good chance to be NBA - think that Braun has a chance as well (though he'll be a four year guy). Hope Agbaji comes back next year, but I'm beginning to have doubts that he will.
@FarmerJayhawk true. But the pipeline seems to be flowing ($) even better now.
Question, is Baylor a Nike school? They are starting to seriously recruit, and me no like. Is Tech an Under Armor school? If so, and if Beard ever decides to leave that would probably be one of the biggest reasons.
I say, if Stevie steps down, we poach..
Wonder what will become of Duke once K retires? I think he'll be around for another year, that's it.
Is Hunter an incoming ISU recruit?
I don't think we're going to have JW for four years, three at best but he will probably leave after next season.
Jesus, the guy is finally - and let's face it, he hasn't been in the most ideal situations - playing well and gets a chance to start, and he gets injured.
@nwhawkfan I like Van Pelt, not so much the Bad Beats segment.
@KirkIsMyHinrich he has magic legs.
So, what's the word on Sidney Curry, has he signed? I Hope so. He has three years of eligibility at KU, if he so chooses. I think he was - considering the neverending NCAA cloud - a freaking steal.
@Crimsonorblue22 He's got a good 📺 voice, that's about it. He gets on my nerves when he talks about this or that or mentions the passing of someone while acting as if he broke the story or that he personally knew them. Maybe I'm being too judgemental, but he comes off as being disingenuous.
That totally sucks.
@jayballer67 You are right. Hopefully, he'll continue to make strides.
We definitely need him in the rotation, if for nothing else atleast the threat of another potential three which will only help to open things up for Dave.
Yeah, I've come around, guess we all have a tendency to get caught up in certain games and moments. Without McCormack our season would have been a hell of alot worse, that is for certain.
@BShark we need to beat Texas. We can do it, we have the technology. We can make our team better than it was before.....
Am I wrong (and I like him as a player) or does it seem that when Wilson gets the ball he has a problem with giving it up?
A couple of rocket science observations - McCormack had a monster 2nd half. I'm obviously not going to knock his performance (nor his tendency to show up for only one half). I'm going to ease up on him, we've been losing of late and I've been wrongly been blaming him.
Braun is a very important player for this team. Even when not making shots (people guard him, know that he can knock them down), he always seems to be around the ball making something positive happen. I feel much better about our team after this win.
@rockchalkwyo Because he isn't a traditional big, nor are the other guys that are coming next year, though they can be bullies. Even Muscadin isn't a traditional big. If Dave is - and he is - a traditional big, then I say goodbye and good riddance from now on to traditionalism.
@stoptheflop Oh not doubt about it. The defense - even Garrett looked to totally half-ass it on several occasions - was a total no-show the final ten minutes. This team looks like a first round Dance loser.
I have never second-guessed Coach, but why does he refuse to acknowledge this team's best starting five? Why does he not play Enaruna more? I don't care what their final stats were, this team cannot with the personnel that they have get into any type of offensive and therefore even defensive flow with McCormack and Garrett starting. It is as simple as that.
On a positive note, we're not as bad record wise as UK or Duke.
And Mizzou damn near blew a sure fire blowout.
This team needs to accept - and Coach needs to do so with them - what it is, a small ball team that needs to pass the ball to damn near the end of every shot clock and D up. Unlike many, I didn't think that this team would be strong on defense or offense, and I called it early. Let's face it, having a Doke (the dude was a beast) and Devon going to the bucket at will saved us last year. They were, basically, unstoppable.
We need the W. If we lose today, the top 25 streak is over.

Yepp free year for all. And next fall kids have a 1 time free transfer. Going to be craziness
That is something that we are undoubtedly sending out feelers for. Hope that KU is able to snag a salty PG with a couple years of eligibility left.

@approxinfinity I think your last point is key. The ball needs to move. Dave doesn't need to have fewer touches for everybody else to have more.
Yes. Passing feels like the key problem for this team. The poor shooting has been confounding because I have seen Abaji and Braun pour in 3s in the past.. This year it is a struggle and I think that is because the defense seems to be on them. Percentages between open and covered 3s are vastly different... and these guys are covered a lot, so there are more rushed and forced 3s.
Better passing can open up guys on the perimeter before defenders can get there. It can also create lanes for driving and opportunities to pass to the interior... If I could pick one thing to improve, I think it would be passing because I think it would in turn relieve many other woes.
The question I haven't been able to answer is why is this team struggling with passing so much?
You got it, pass and pass, and pass some more.
Mizzou laying it on Alabama. Cuonzo Martin is building a program in Columbia. With the high school talent in that state, if they keep winning, look out.
@Crimsonorblue22 I understand. But I know people who were sick, got tested and were negative, then went back two or four days later and tested positive. My point being, what about those - and I think there are many - who tested negative but remained sick who did not go back for further testing? And were out and about.

Interesting. You know, and I am not trying to be political here, not at all (I always mask up, it's not that hard to do). But I'm beginning to wonder if damn near all of us have alreadyl been exposed and to greater or lesser degrees already had it.
@BeddieKU23 I like him.
