Next Year's Team β€’ Jul 04, 2019 05:15 AM

@FarmerJayhawk It seems, and if so you would not be the first to say so, that you see Wilson as more a 4 than a 3?

Weird News: Jaylen Fisher β€’ Jul 04, 2019 05:01 AM

They were my magic shoes. Momma said that they would take me anywhere!..... What happened to Bragg?

Weird News: Jaylen Fisher β€’ Jul 03, 2019 05:20 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 If I'm not mistaken wasn't Dan The Man a three point shooter?

There's been some noise around Seton Hall getting most of their team back for this year. Not sure that translates to Top 5, but their name is being thrown around as being really good this year.

I saw that. Baylor is being called a top 10 team, too (think they had them at like seven or eight).

Weird News: Jaylen Fisher β€’ Jul 03, 2019 02:26 PM

@BShark But on a serious note, that is really weird. The guy has talent. No takers but Grand Canyon?

Ended up at Grand Canyon.

Methinks something got buried here.

What? They have an on-line basketball team?

@Marco MSU, KU, Duke, Kentucky.

I think the 5th team is up in the air. I would listen to arguments for Nova, Louisville or Florida. Maryland would be in consideration if I felt Turg was a better coach...

That's kind of where I'm at, number 5 being a bit foggy. Though that being said, I think that Louisville and Florida are going to be stout.

Bracketology Before the 4th Of July β€’ Jul 03, 2019 02:10 PM

I think that Kansas will be a tough out for anyone this year, a no-brainer Top 5 team. Who do you think are this year's Top 5 teams?

Bracketology Before the 4th Of July β€’ Jul 03, 2019 11:13 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 Yeah, I saw a way-too-early top 25 that had Baylor as a Top 10 team. But Kansas as a 1 seed at 25-9?

Bracketology Before the 4th Of July β€’ Jul 03, 2019 11:11 AM

@KUSTEVE Damn, a 1 seed at 25-9.

Next Year's Team β€’ Jul 03, 2019 11:08 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 That is pretty solid assessment. And I agree about McBride, so the big question is who should we recruit to join him?

Bracketology Before the 4th Of July β€’ Jul 03, 2019 03:10 AM

@approxinfinity Not a chance. I'll go with five losses, tops.

I saw that UConn got served.

NBA Free Agency - Walker to the Celtics β€’ Jul 03, 2019 01:19 AM

@approxinfinity Figure by adding Stein they don't think they'll re-sign Cousins. They're gonna go small-ball apparently.

2020 Recruiting β€’ Jul 03, 2019 01:12 AM

@BShark I'm with you on that one, Thompson and Mane.

Next Year's Team β€’ Jul 03, 2019 01:11 AM

@KUSTEVE I'm good with everything that you said. I'm really looking forward to seeing who we sign in 2020, adding them to who we have coming back (and even who we'll have coming back the following year). I'm bigtime down with the class that we signed this year.

NBA Free Agency - Walker to the Celtics β€’ Jul 03, 2019 01:04 AM

@approxinfinity Really? See that Golden State is adding Cauley-Stein.

NBA Free Agency - Walker to the Celtics β€’ Jul 02, 2019 04:29 AM

@BShark I thought he meant that Kawhi went to the Lakers.

NBA Free Agency - Walker to the Celtics β€’ Jul 02, 2019 04:28 AM

@approxinfinity I know, but better than a gaping hole.

NBA Free Agency - Walker to the Celtics β€’ Jul 01, 2019 07:53 PM

The Celtics picked up Enes Kanter. I think it's a good nab.

NBA Free Agency - Walker to the Celtics β€’ Jul 01, 2019 07:49 PM

@approxinfinity Did Kawhi go to the Lakers? I'll tell you, I just don't see him co-existing with LeBron.

NBA Free Agency - Walker to the Celtics β€’ Jun 30, 2019 09:46 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I would agree to that trade, but I would not give up Smart - that's why I asked about Smart and Rozier. And that is not a knock on Rozier, he's a hell of a point guard. I just value Smart's D. So, I guess the next question is, who should the Cs now be targeting to try to somehow replace Horford?

2019 Transfer List β€’ Jun 30, 2019 08:46 PM

@FarmerJayhawk Are they soft leather, Farmer?

2020 Recruiting β€’ Jun 30, 2019 08:33 PM

@jayballer73 I'm going to have to do some checking on that. I was hoping for Foster, but that isn't happening.

2019 Transfer List β€’ Jun 30, 2019 08:30 PM

@KUSTEVE That's not totally out of the realm of possibility. Six wins is doable.

Well looking at his top 5 schools at the present - - looks like he is at least possibly interested in staying close as he list both Missouri & K-state in his top 5 - -Soo we get involved who knows might be a sweet addition.

My 2 BIG hopes for 2020 right now at the present time - - - Kyree - always have wanted him - -and Bryce - those are at the top of my list - that would be awesome

I would definitely take those two, have been high on Bryce for awhile. I think we'll have ourselves a very solid class in 2020.

2019 Transfer List β€’ Jun 30, 2019 08:20 PM

Yeah, I can't remember the last time I watched a KU football game due to being interested in the KU football team. Think the last game that I watched (though not being interested in our team) was when Mayfield lit 'em up and it became a drinking game between me and a couple of my buddies.

As for basketball, I am excited. Haven't checked the schedule yet (yeah, I know, blasphemy), when and who is our first game?

HUGE NBA TRADE β€’ Jun 30, 2019 08:09 PM

Huge trade, indeed. But damn, as of right now only three players on the roster?

NBA Free Agency - Walker to the Celtics β€’ Jun 30, 2019 08:06 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I agree that Butler would be a bad fit, but hope that they don't realize it until after the Cs acquire Capella. I wonder what's up with Smart and Rozier?

NBA Free Agency - Walker to the Celtics β€’ Jun 30, 2019 07:54 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 Clint Capella would definitely work. I didn't know they were trying to acquire him. If they do, that would get rid of some the doubt that I had about them, since I knew about their losing Horford. He would not do what Horford did, but if he could D up, rebound, pass back to the outside, and throw in a few garbage baskets that would probably work. What assets would he be worth?

NBA Free Agency - Walker to the Celtics β€’ Jun 30, 2019 12:13 PM

I think Kemba will be a good fit in Boston. The Kyrie experiment was a complete fiasco, he's all iso. Look for the Celtics to be a hell of alot better next year. Not a huge NBA fan, in general, but I do follow Golden State and Boston.

@Crimsonorblue22 Yes, I know... But they also reinstated him. Why would they do that? Why not just rule him ineligible, period? Anyway, we shall see.

The NCAA Infractions Committee initially ruled Silvio DeSousa ineligible for 2 years for violations connected to his guardian. The University of Kansas filed an appeal on behalf of Silvio DeSousa because they believed the punishment to be excessive. This appeal was heard by the NCAA Appeals Committee which is a different group from who handled Silvio's case the first time. The Appeals Committee determined that the 2 year suspension was excessive for the violation and reduced it to a 1 year suspension.

Okay, they ruled it to be excessive, and I am not trying to argue but only make a point. I guess what I'm getting at is that if the committee ruled it to be excessive then perhaps it felt that there was not much there to begin with, which takes me back to my original point. If there was actual proof that his guardian took cash and or that Silvio knew about it why not from the start just rule him all the way ineligible (not only 2 years, flat out ineligible)? Would that not be what the NCAA would normally do in such a situation?

But they did not do that because there is no proof (and I understand that they usually don't care about such a thing), though I am quite sure, at this point, that they have belatedly recognized their blunder and I am laughing at them! I believe that we have dodged the entire bullet. The NCAA sawed its own legs off with the original ruling ("We should have just ruled him ineligible!," they are now screaming) and the committee sawed those legs off even more. Anyway, last I'll talk about this topic. We shall see.

@jayballer73 Old man, you need to get a grip, okay? That was a fucking joke that I posted. A joke that was, basically, saying let's move on. You take this site way too seriously, for real. I've been to wars, old man. Your idle threats and silly ass mean absolutely nothing to me.

@Texas-Hawk-10 I give you all of those points, but my arguement still stands. Rose's test score was invalidated due to an official paper trial, so to speak. Am I wrong? The accusations against De Sousa have never been proven.

@jayballer73 He's talking to you jayballer. We're all talking to you. You know damn good and well that you advocated for Grimes to transfer with the hope that we'd be able to sign Apollo Jackson.

@Texas-Hawk-10 Yeah, and again, if so then why is De Sousa going to play for KU this year?

2020 Recruiting β€’ Jun 27, 2019 11:48 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 And he passed the exams, right?

2019 Transfer List β€’ Jun 27, 2019 11:13 PM

@Woodrow As they should.

2020 Recruiting β€’ Jun 27, 2019 11:13 PM

@BShark Probably because the courses are done in English, and if they can't pass the exams then that pretty much means that they (though many athletes are not really there to study) will not be able to follow said courses, let alone learn much. Which would throw the whole scam into question, now wouldn't it?

Naming names β€’ Jun 27, 2019 11:03 PM

@HighEliteMajor Listen, you can say what you will. It was money - was it ever even proven? - that was paid for him to go to Maryland not KU. And the other stuff is alleged - Alleged. Question, why is Silvio eligible to play at KU? I'll ask again.... Why, if there is so much wrongdoing, is Silvio eligible to play this year. You can keep beating the same drum and I will continue to ask the same question, why is he eligible? Why would he be eligible at all?

2019 Transfer List β€’ Jun 27, 2019 09:41 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 Did I say all four freshman would average over ten minutes a game? Hmm.... Maybe I did, can't recall, might've been beer:30. I do think that all four freshman will get solid minutes and unlike many (Bill likes him) I think that Braun will also contribute. As far as Garrett, yeah I was harsh, but Grimes? No, I wasn't. Best of luck to both you and Grimes.
