@JayHawkFanToo There's also a reason schools haven't been beating down the door for Norm either. His run at St. John's was not good.
Svi had his best game as a Jayhawk tonight IMO. The job he did guarding Bagley tonight was incredible. And he had a double-double as well the tying 3 to send the game to OT. Malik was great tonight, but Svi was the MVP of this game.
Game of the tournament so far!

We have to get Carter out. Have to go right at him. Whoever is guarding him, flop like you've never flopped before. With him out, the size advantage basically disappears.
Sounds like a job for Lightfoot
WTF, That was a bullshit call!
Svi has been great on the glass today surprisingly.

Only reason we have more boards is we have missed a ton of shots. I'm encouraged that balls are bouncing our ways off misses. But to win this game we gotta make shots. Nothing else matters. Shoot 60% this half and win. Shoot 40 and lose
Duke missed 1 fewer shot than KU, we're legitimately outrebounding them so far.
KU is up 24-18 in rebounds against Duke, that's keeping it close, cutting out turnovers and we're up 5-6 points right now.
Graham and Vick need to start passing the lobs to whoever the post is at the time. It's been there all game so far.
Turnovers killed us that half

@BShark I heard self say he hopes whom ever follows him has KU ties.
I'd love to see Self's successor have KU ties, but there really aren't any coaches out there with KU ties that are worthy of the job or a realistic option.
I'd say Joe Dooley is the closest to being worthy, but we need to see him at higher level than FGCU to find out for sure.
This looks like a game between a team that's been there, done that, and a team that's in new territory. I figured it would happen to Tech before the Elite 8 such.
@loyolstud88 Blue blood killer is cute, come back when you beat one.
KSU got their ass kicked tonight.
I want to beat Tech a second time and I want to beat KSU for a 4th time. I'd also like some payback against Villanova for 2 years ago.
My biggest concern with this game is Duke's offensive rebounding. We don't have a good option for Wendell Carter unless Self played DeSousa alongside Doke some.
This game is might the biggest clash of styles in the tournament so far between top teams.
I'll give the same prediction Jay Bilas gave and the same one I've said for awhile, if KU shoots at or above their season average from 3, KU should win.

Probably one of the more surprising names to not be mentioned in the FBI reports was Leonard Hamilton imo. Recruiting out of his mind.
Hamilton is a solid coach. There's also an insane amount of talent in FSU's backyard that they don't land to not really make me doubt his recruiting. I would have been more surprised to see him on there than not.
Hamilton is an above average coach that most programs would take his track record in a heartbeat.
I think I'd enjoy beating KSU for a 4th time this year.
@justanotherfan We can still mock to the Pac 12, less Final Four's than the Big 12 and it's been over 20 years since Arizona won their last title in 1997.
The Pac 12 also hasn't sent a school to the Final Four in 10 years when UCLA made it in 2008.

@Texas-Hawk-10 Let's see, Oregon defended the paint really well, and all we had to do was make some shots from outside..... Do you see this as similar?
It's not much different than Oregon. KU didn't make shots last year and list because they didn't make their shots. I probably said the same thing last year, shoot your average and win. No different than what KU needs to do on Friday. KU is the better team, they make shots and they win, simple as that. If KU doesn't make shots, they will lose.
@BeddieKU23 I've seen a couple of Clemson games and their defensive strategy is simple. They pack the paint and force teams to beat them from deep. They adopted that philosophy because it's a good plan to be successful in the ACC and it worked for them as they finished tied for 3rd this year.
If KU is making their average on 3 pointers Friday night, KU will move on simple as that.
@JayHawkFanToo Women have doing pretty well at KU right now. They have the top ranked tennis player in the country last I saw and track team just won the Indoor B12 title last weekend I believe.

@JayHawkFanToo I think the combined buyout for Zenger and Beaty is under $5 million so it's feasible.
Zenger should be the first to go so a new AD can make a football and women's basketball hire as well because that hasn't worked out at all either.
Schneider's record is improving. I would give him more time.
2016 6-25 0-18
2017 8-22 2-16
2018 12-17 3-15
He lost Washington, returning point guard for the year before the first game this year.
Women's basketball is still a dumpster fire. KU ended the year 1-15 and only 3 of the losses were by single digits and that's including a couple of 9 point losses so basically one close loss over the last 2 months. KU was also the only team to lose to Texas Tech this season as well.
Their nonconference schedule was also insanely easy. This is still not a good team and won't be next year either.

@truehawk93 KU doesn't have to be the best team in the tournament, just the better team on floor 6 times.
@cragarhawk Could've had to go through 3 of them had NC State knocked off Seton Hall in the first round.
@Kcmatt7 Nevada and KSU aren't double digit seeds.

Let's focus on the team ahead. Which may or may not be an ACC team. One at a time boys, one at a time. Oh. And don't forget the part where i said to "focus". 😊
Unless an epic choke job like the one Cincinnati is working on happens, we'll be playing Clemson next Friday night.
@approxinfinity KU isn't going with a 4 guard line up next year. The starting 4 next year will be Dedric Lawson woth Doke at the 5. We'll also see Silvio, McCormack, and possibly KJ Lawson at the 4 next season.
I'm conflicted on the A&M/UNC game. I have UNC in the title game in my bracket and still have all 4 Final Four teams left so I could make up a lot of points in later rounds, but my girlfriend is an A&M grad so I have reason to cheer the Argues.
Since she's not a big basketball fan, I'll stick with UNC so I hopefully win some money and get her something nice.

that zone of Dukes will give us fits if that match up happens.
We already handled the best zone team in the country. Duke's zone doesn't scare me. If KU is making their shots, they'll be fine. Marvin Bagley is the issue because KU doesn't have a good answer for him.
We already beat Syracuse by 16 in December so if we played them down the road, I wouldn't be too worried about that match up either.
Duke is by far the biggest hurdle in the way of KU getting to the Final Four.

@BShark Seton Hall ... DOWN IN FLAMES....
COVERED THO
So what? That's only relevant to gamblers. KU is still the one playing Clemson/Auburn next Friday and not Seton Hall.
Survive and advance, I'm good with that. Malik Newman, thank you for finally having the light come on in the past few weeks.

Dok doesn't need to use that elbow. He just needs to go up and shoot.
Only one of his last 3 fouls that was legit.
That foul was clearly on the rim
Doke's gonna tear a rim down on Delgado after that flop at some point tonight.
Hope Graham is starting second half because they were checking him for a concussion.
Bout time Svi made a layup!
That Vick foul was a clean block, refs blew that one.
I'm fine with the refs calling it tight, favors us anyway because it takes away the Big East bruiser style of play.
That should be Marshall ball
Finish them off Thundering Herd!
I don't expect a blowout because both teams preferred style of play would indicate this should be a fairly high scoring game tomorrow. If KU holds Seton Hall under 80, KU should win. This won't be a defensive gem, these are two offensive minded teams that will run.
Pac 12 didn't even reach the 1st weekend this year. 0-3 and they're done for the year.
Only negative aboiut this ass beating is that it was a former Missouri player who led the charge. Although he was smart enough to eventually leave Missouri.
Arizona just straight up got their ass kicked tonight.
So who had Buffalo emptying the bench against Arizona tonight?
It's been a long time since I've been this genuinely shocked about an NCAA Tournament game. Probably the MSU loss a couple of years ago, but other than that, I can't remember when I've been this surprised at a game.
@wissox Georgetown was a bad loss this year too. They were 5-13 in conference.
Should be a high scoring one on Saturday. We should win if we hold Seton Hall under 80.
