Musselman said after the game they wanted to play very physically because the Zags had played some tough games early in their schedule but hadn't the last part of their season. At the end of the game the Zags still had some fouls to give may say that the Zags backed off a bit. The Hogs scrapped on the boards at both ends and never gave up on any play. Holmgren fouled out for the second straight game.
And then there was one. The scrappiest of the teams won yesterday except for Duke who I thought had a super stud like Banchero and a center who played very well. Won it at the foul line.

Amazing. As the first graduate of the Commandant of the Marine Corps Court Reporter School circa July 1970 I salute your ability to write long offerings to these threads. I cannot type worth a flip anymore due to loss of control over my hand movements. It takes a bit of effort and time so spelling and grammar adherence slip past me like a Remy Martin drive. Admiration and respect to you and the others.
Thank you, sir, for your service. And I'm not one of those grammar N@zis that points out others' foibles, especially in this kind of forum where sometimes one has to type quickly to avoid detection in the workplace!
Don't know if you were here during @jaybate-1-0's heyday as a lurker before becoming a regular participant, but you want to talk about lengthy posts! I don't know who the guy is/was or where he studied or what, but talk about someone with a seemingly vast depth of knowledge about damn near everything. Sometimes blurred that line between genius and madness, but he did make you think.
Good times.
Yes I remember Jaybate. He knew how to stir the pot and I quit the ljw thread after he left because it wasn't as interesting or as much fun. I was really sad.

Had some fun last week running into a Google search about "ph" and its proper pronunciation. Included the age-old ironic query, Why is "phonetic" pronounced with an F sound?
No one does that, really?
Nice indeed!

This place in time feels very familiar. Providence seems like the kind of team we have beaten and the kind of team we have lost too. A solid four seed that is not quite as good as this Jayhawk team. Are we a full level step up? Probably not. But a higher ceiling team? Yes for sure.
Guilty until proven guilty or innocent after an investigation as long as I can remember seeing eon go on. Even though there have been many billable hours paid so far it's in the hands of an impartial panel. Of course it isn't impartial if you are protecting the field from an alleged bad actor's actions.
I don't know all the facts and my earnest wish that KU be exonerated disqualifies me as an arbiter. I just cannot see the NCAA leaders admitting they are wrong.
Good writing and wit. And it would be nice to see.

@Zabudda yea, Richmond couldn’t buy a 3… imagine what we would do to a team who shot that way against us - instead of the more typical crazy nobody who has a career night and sinks 10 without hardly trying.
Yep and the career night thing like we saw against Creighton and others in our few losses makes me say bad words. I think it may be the NCAA dicking with us. This year the ghost of Phog Allen has been fickle. Maybe a burnt offering of some kind would appease him.
Dennis Gates (Cleveland State) will take over at Mizzou "a proud program that has faded from relevancy in recent years." Known for his recruiting of lottery pick level players. Out of Leonard Hamilton's staff.

We open up as 8 point favorites against Providence. Seems a little high. Hope they’re right!!!
Yes it does seem as such. They destroyed Richmond with Richmond's help. One for twenty-two from three. Holy bejesus!
If we ever desperately need a bomb I feel we could reasonably rely on Och, Christian, R3MY, J3L, JWill or Daj. If we could only play six at a time!

I love Remy's swagger on the court, this team needs it.
Love your Churchill quote. He was known to be often in his cups and when the MP Bessie Braddock told him he was just a drunk he replied, "Yes, I am drunk and you Bessie are ugly and I will be sober in the morning and you will still be ugly."
@stoptheflop
And only one turnover out of the team total of a nice, for us, seven.
His two 15' foot jumpers were very timely. His flat shot trajectory reminds me of Earl the Pearl Monroe's.
JCL, who matched up well with the bigger guards, displayed good defense (much improved) and was perfect with two pretty swishes one of which was a three.
Lol. Well good luck to him and his family.
I hope this was our down game as we have now won seven in a row. We didn't choke, made free throws and beat a good team that almost outplayed us. The rest of our bracket should savor this one as we might beak the crap out of everyone one of you who comes into our flight path.
Remy was quick on defense but 6'8" guys are too big.
Rick Barnes I mean.
@Crimsonorblue22
Before Texas' new coach was hired I heard he was offered a chance to come back.
Yeah, I heard Texas offered him back and said nah.
Best team won and a lot of times in a game like this they don't.
Oh brother!
Truth and we neeeded everyone. Och 13 in the second half.
Good puppy dog.
Yeah. No Providence for me.
Sweet sixteen feels pretty sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did we pass Kentucky yet?
Okay we beat a astonishing effort. Never gave up!!! Never lost the lead.
14 and 14 for Jwill
Ice,
Jwill.
We love you Dave. I didn't mean what I said before
A visit from Phog Allen, he hated turnovers.
One point lead. They have played a perfect game.
18 for 21
We can't shake these guys. Nope
First to 82 win this.
We had a chance
Lol
9 point lead.
Good timeout call by McDermott.
J3L!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AMEN!
Another bun ny!!!!
Fuc**** layups,
We can get up by six,,,again. Stop and up by nine stop and up by twelve,
They are 12 for thirteen we are perfect on 11
First and one of the year for Dave? lol
They chuck up 22 threes and they make for long rebounds.
They weather our storm. We had a chance to get up double digits.
Scary team should be in foul trouble but their only guy with three is their worst player.
Very interesting.
A couple of backdoor jams to start.
Creighton said they wanted to just stay with us and then anything could happen. So far so good.
I think we have got shots we wanted but missed 6 or so point blank and they have been unconscious from three.
Not panic time unless we come out flat.
Och will get the blame unless.....
