Everytime i think this team has turned a corner. They prove they have not. So i must stick to my opinion after the temple game. I will not develop expectations for this group. I cannot allow it of myself

Our offense this half is deplorable.
Just wanna say that although i love coach Self. And wouldnt want anyone else to head this program. I cant understand the idea that some have. That he is infoulable beyond criticism. Not attacking anyone here. But im sorry. Hes a man. As imperfect as any other. He is foulable. And therfore can be questioned. I actually found myself questioning his urgency in the second half of this loss. Dont know that I meant it. But during the game I remember saying out loud. "I just dont think Coach Self cares about winning this game right now". Probably just a fit of rage honestly. But i did read on the other site that Self admitted even the coaches did as crappy a job as the players on saturday. I like that. Even if he doesnt believe it. Hes humble enough to say it to us. A fanbase with more passion for our beloved Jayhawks/program than can be matched In my opinion. I am as guilty as anyone and moreso than some. We must sometimes guard against our own passion becoming a detourant. We will be mad/sad when we lose. We will be on cloud 9 when we win. All this is to be expected. This is not 10 year olds playing rec ball. For fun. Its bigtime hoops. And the most tradition rich program in history. Cant expect those with a massive investment of their heart and soul to not be passionate about it. For it may very well be that passion which is what will sustain longterm success. I feel we must all always strive for more from everyone involved with this program. Including ourselves as fans.
So there's my opinion. Together with a token it might get ya on a subway. :)
2nd half wouldve been smarter to actually pound it inside. Especially with nash getting 3rd foul early. Press rattled us early. Thats very disheartening. Not just the rattling. But just the overall patheticness of our press breaking ability in general. Long ways to go. But still some time to get there. Learn a few things fron this tape/experience hopefully

Agree the jury is still out. Lots of ball to be played. And certainly no question on the talent level. But if im a Longhorn fan(im not even close :) ) maybe not even a pessimistic one right now. I look at the remaining schedule. I see 4 road games. And Isu and Baylor still to play in Austin. 9 games to go. Giving the benifit of the doubt that those 9 can go better. Im thinking 5 and 4 is in line or optimistic even at this point. Which would net an overall of 19 and 12. And a bottom half finish in this league. Might put them squarely on the bubble. Or just plain out. It should be interesting to see how they respond.
Does Okie state's win tonight turn our game saturday into somewhat of a trap game for them now?? Interesting times

I appreciate your time in this. Thats a very insightful and informative post. You make excellent points. Only 4 spots to give. And maybe too many teams to choose from. Plus the geography issue that I had not considered an issue. Which we all know is an issue in fact. Another thing to consider is that perhaps the B12 is not all that good afterall. A terrific league this year it most definitely is. But how does it really stack up vs the other top leagues/top teams?? Perhaps its just a very equal league of several teams that are top 10-25 caliber? That maybe arent quite ready to play with the top 1-10. This is a very real possibility and I'd say if you trust the "eye test" its most likely close to reality. So I say. Heres hoping that the final 10 to 12 games of this regular Season prepare this team to make that next step. To be able to play with and beat the top 5 teams in the nation.
Many have mentioned This team possibly or probably recieving a 2 seed for the dance. I must say that although its premature at the moment. If this team does in fact win the big12. Especially outright. With the best schedule in the nation. And number 1 rpi. And in the number 1 rpi conference. It will be a travesty in my honest opinion to not recieve a 1 seed.
