Totally agree. This is the WUG, and "USA" should be the predominate feature regardless. Put KU or Jayhawks somewhere on the jerseys, but have "USA" front and center.

I'm not sure it's Do or Die if we don't find a replacement for Graham. While it would be nice, we still have a pretty damn good team already heading to SK.

@HighEliteMajor I much prefer this post than the one before since it is more informative and broader regarding your position on this topic. I certainly agree with you on some of the things you mentioned here because they align with my own personal feelings and take on these matters. And while I lean Left, I am cautious not to broad-brushing folks with regards to their religion, politics, race, demographics or geography.

I too apologize for my digression. I just hope others will use caution when they proactively or without provocation, introduce their beliefs when they don't even pertain to KU Buckets topics.

Geesh. There are so many pros and cons with this kid that it makes my head hurt. I will just have to trust in Self to make the right decision for the program. At least it sounds like we have another year to evaluate Maker, and if it makes any sense.

@HighEliteMajor Indeed, there is something wrong with a society that has to carry guns, and of course, there are certainly "good" gun owners and "bad" gun owners much like there are "good" cops and "bad" cops, and "good" politicians and "bad" politicians, and "good" companies and "bad" companies, and "good" people and "bad" people, etc. I'd like to think we ALL want to see "good" gun ownership, "good gun safety and "good" gun controls (where possible and when necessary,) that are better for today's society, yet don't squash our constitutional rights. Can there be such a thing as "common sense" or "common good" laws or regulations that everyone can agree on? I certainly hope so, and that is the discussion that should be had . . . especially on a different site or topic thread than this.

What I do take issue with (with all due respect,) is that you chose a rebuttal based squarely on the inner city problems vs. a broader scope of violence throughout the US. The fact that you chose to hone in on the "thugs" in the inner cities, and the "cowardly" folks who do not step up to criticize inner city murders, is quite concerning. I believe you are not a racists, but you should also know that there are a vast number of people who fight to improve the lives of inner city youth, and who fight to change the "culture" and/or "mindset" of our youth today leads to violence and murder.

It's not easy living in the inner city, and God knows it's not easy being a cop these days. They are worth their weight in gold, and are there to protect and serve us all. And yes, there needs to be more accountability from everyone. However, to simply target "thugs" and praise cops is generically very sad, and shows your true colors on how you feel about this whole dilemma. It's like me basing my whole stance on gun safety on the fact that 95% of serial killers are white guys, and therefore, we must not let "whitey" get guns, or to ban guns from them altogether. That may be a factor in the decisions we make, but not the sole factor.

@brooksmd Can't argue that Gore is a bit of a hypocrite (as am I in some respects,) but what's he to do? Walk his way to other parts of the world? LOL And I hope for his sake, his mansion has every alternative/renewable energy sources available. Imagine what airfares would be, in all due time time, once we harness solar and/or revolutionize electric energy like we currently are?

From my perspective (and belief,) your "solution" really sounds, looks and feels like the position Big Oil is and has been taking . . . other than convincing you that you ARE NOT destroying. the earth, and then swapping "socialists" for Big Oil. I guess because it involves "capitalism," that solidifies its priority above all consequences.

With all due respect, and not wanting to go down the political rabbit hole regarding this issue, you should know that since too many simpletons and uninformeds see snow on the ground and think that "Global Warming" must be a lie or hoax, a name change was in order. As for me, I am gong to agree with 95% of the worlds actual leading "Climate" experts/scientists who say that Climate Change is real, and that Man is a major contributor to it. If anyone wants to believe the other 5%, that is their choice . . . unfortunately.

I respect Ingram's decision, but I can't imagine Duke signing a 17 year old PG who is "unproven" at the D1 level, would help that much to convince him to go to Duke. We have a Jr. and So. PG's who would have fed him better..

The “gateway hypothesis” or theory refers to the idea that one substance — marijuana, in this case — leads users to subsequently use and/or abuse other drugs. If Christie’s point is simply that the use of marijuana tends to precede the use of other drugs, then he is correct — but that’s not the whole story.
Though studies of large populations of people have indeed found that those who smoke marijuana are more likely to use other drugs, these studies show a correlation without showing causation — a commonly misunderstood phenomenon in science. In short, just because marijuana smokers might be more likely to later use, say, cocaine, does not imply that using marijuana causes one to use cocaine.
A 1999 report from the Institute of Medicine, which is part of the National Academy of Sciences, laid out this issue clearly (see pages 100-101): “In the sense that marijuana use typically precedes rather than follows initiation into the use of other illicit drugs, it is indeed a gateway drug. However, it does not appear to be a gateway drug to the extent that it is the cause or even that it is the most significant predictor of serious drug abuse; that is, care must be taken not to attribute cause to association.”

Good and honest posts. Sometimes you have to agree to disagree. As far as Pot and Its Impact on BB IQ - I guess that depends on your DNA and how much you partake.

Sure, many "potheads" have ruined their lives. But many "420 friendlies" have become Managers, CEO's, Teachers, Laborers, Policemen & Firefighters, and the like. And let's not forget those who play professional sports. IQ's must not be that bad if they achieve that level.

I don't care if players smoke pot. I just care how they take care of business on and off the court.

Glad they reinstated the dunk, and it is worthy of it's own "Top Ten" category. But why lump all the other great plays into the "Top Ten Plays?" Why not have ESPN's "Top Ten" steals, fouls, assists, rebounds or flops?
