Well I know people aren't going to want to hear this--- may not agree with this but I have to say it anyways - I think this year that Kentucky might just be some better then last year. , actually quite a bit better , hey I'm not to proud to admit it -- they better - - they better that's all. - -It's gonna be a pretty good match up when we meet them in the Bi2 12/Sec challenge. Of course they are already starting with the whiner excuse if we win, How the Refs favor us so badly at the Phog - -they are already getting that out there 5 on 8 they said. - Talking about how at least 2-3 of there guys will be in foul trouble by the 1st TV time out lol

I'm sorry but K- State is just sad. Sure they hung around a bit but that was more Illinois screwups nothing K-State did really , Illinois allowing them to hang around, Did ANYONE her e really think K- State was gonna win this game ? - -I sure the hell didn't

I mean can someone please tell me what kind of offensive sets K-State runs ? I mean really cause I'm not seeing much of run , or do they run an offense ? - All I saw was a lot of one on one and jack a 3. Most the time it was Pack or Smith jacking it up - -a couple of dribbles no signs of an offensive set being run at all just throwing it up. They actually played better last night then tonight. -Just think myself it's gonna be another long year for Bruce , & probably his last yr too.

2023 Recruiting • Nov 23, 2021 07:52 PM

Well read an article about a couple of 2023 recruits. - -One I think we might have good chance at , the other ummm probably not. Just from what he said

The one I really don't think A LOT of interest from them is # 12 Matas Buzelis - - pretty much said Duke , Kentucky & Kansas was there watching him talking about taking visits and what have you then when it came to KU he said he text's them , calls them but he just don't know

The one who at least sounds like he is interested in KU and KU Townsend was watching him the same day as Matas same Schools there watching KU- - Duke - -& Kentucky
Tayler Bol Bowen , # 23 in the class of 2023 , Bowen said : Norm is the one who offered him and Norm came to Brewster and Tayler was very excited to see him , to see him walk in the gym. Tayler said I just want KU to be part of my recruitment and it's a blessing to have them as part of my recruitment for sure.

That to me sure sounds like he is pretty interested in KU , the question is - - - is the feeling mutual it vey wll might be if Norm offered - we shall see

Gonzaga & Purdue are horrible matchups for KU. They both have multiple bigs that can abuse Dave.

that could be very true, but you also have to look at the other shoe, KU can also run a line up that can pretty much off set their big's. We have guys that can play the 5 and stretch the floor make their big's try to defend in space' - -we have Zach that can play sme spot , Coach even mentioned playing Jalen as a stretch 5 - so we could pretty well counter their big's with our stretch 5's kind of like what Villanova done to us a few years back , more worried about Gonzaga then Purdue

Find it strange , haven't felt something like this in years -what is it ? - - -hmmm actually excited about next year , even a little fired up. I think we can become really competitive in alot of games. , with what we got coming back and what we got coming in. Remember we have I think like52 Freshmen & Sophomores Coach is a winner , got a good staff - -you look we won two this year and what ZERO last yr ? - -We beat Texas at Texas , stayed right there with Oklahoma at Home - Lost to TCU @ TCU hung in there with them to the end. I think we are getting close to the point where teams better quit thinking we are an automatic W for them - -Think there are some teams that better start paying attention cause - - - were coming . Pulled this off the TCU Board. - What the TCU Coach said after th game. Saying KU has finally got it right , that KU was further along in the 1st year then they were when he was at Minnesota , Saying KU was a team that was a team that would be a team to be reckoned with the next 3-4 years.

Read off TOS that we had picked up a verbal commit believe out of California - -A Juco Linebacker pretty versitale that can play all 3 the article said - -won the league MVP defensive player of the year.

I think Zach has a real chance because of his jumper. When it's THAT good it outweighs a lot of other things. He does have a ways to go but I think he can get there.

Bobby to me looks like a pro but not NBA.

Disagree on KJ at this point, don't think he has been very good at all he's just athletic. I think he is worth developing but he isn't offering much this year.

I'd have to disagree with Bobby , got to remember he still a baby even though he doesn't look it - has some years to sharpen what ever area's - has the body loks pretty solid to me , seems pretty mature decision making adqueate balls skills as a freshmen - think he just keeps getting better

OK so now the Question becomes • Nov 19, 2021 07:13 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 said in OK so now the Question becomes:

The quality of opponents has to play a factor in this decision as well. If we still had Baylor, OSU, OU or other good teams, I'd say sit him and don't burn the redshirt. But, KU's last two games are against the teams currently sitting in 8th and 9th in the Big 12 respectively so those are winnable games for KU and chance to build some momentum headed into the off-season so I'd definitely play whoever gives KU the best chance to win and build thar momentum.

Reckon that makes reasonable sense. - -If we could win this TCU game think would be huge. I realize we are playing the 8 & 9th teams but this is still bad program - - BUT making strides. I just don't hope we have a repeat like the week after we played tough against Oklahoma.. - -you can see progress with this team won 2 games this year -Beat Texas - on the road , and played OU Tough - -things starting to show some promise. Hope Jalen can continue to grow

I've been super high on Clemence since we signed him but man he's exceeded expectations. I know all the talk is about him getting stronger, he will, he's a baby faced freshman out there. But the skill level on this kid is legit already. He more then held his own last night against smaller players on defense and he has a knack for the ball. Obviously the waters get deeper as the season goes on but just from what we've seen it would be Criminal not to play this kid.

Oh I agree just looks fluid and I was commenting last night after the game here Bill gonna have to figure out how can w keep getting Zach/KJ 5 minutes or so in the game we are Soooo deep. - Bill mentioned in his post game , he wasn't going to be able to run as deep and minutes would be falling off. - Bill could legit I think run deep without a lot of drop off for a least at bit.

Daniels has 3 more years without a redshirt due to the Covid year. Play whoever gives you the best chance to win: I think it'll be Daniels the rest of the way.

I agree with you quite a bit Farmer , the only thing so if he has 3 yrs not counting the redshirt - -so if he redshirted he would also still have 3 more years right? Cause of the Covid or what ?- -I just think if we were close to eligible for some kind of bowl then I would agree more, but I do see if he plays and we would happen to sneak a win tomorrow against TCU and I do think there is a small chance to do that, the advantage would out weight the redshirt - -can only help recruiting and I do feel we saw improvement loved him on the roll outs - -Nothing personal against Jason either like him to because of the dual threat.

Can't believe I'm saying this really but is Jalen become a better passer then Bean ? -what ya think ? seen some pretty good things - I know it's just the one game - -and it was Texas who just sucks this year. I dunno farmer guess really I'm good either way

So it's already been brought up, so I guess might as well ask, now the question becomes - -does Jalen play next weekend burning his Red-Shirt ? - OR do we keep him out of these last two games ?

Sorry guys but from my standpoint - - my view I would have to say - if Bean is ready - -we hold Jalen, he going to be to vital for us I believe. I mean we not going to go to any Bowls this year or anything like that - -Save Daniels and he will still have 3 years. You can see with the only exception where the ball got tipped , no INT looked pretty good on the roll out's -why waste a year for 3 games?

This program is making headway -- making strides last year we were winless -this year we got 2 wins and a Big 12 road win. - We Beat Texas and we played Oklahoma tough/close. Here in Jayhawk Country we call that progress - have to crawl before we walk and guys we are about to take that 1st step. - -just my opinion we save Jalen , what you think ?

Totally agree that we keep him out. All the national pub for the Texas win is a huge recruiting coup. Losing him for a a couple of games won't hurt the program. Meanwhile we pick up another year's worth of linemen to protect him next year and beyond.

looks like we lost the battle here guy. Jalen is cool I guess with burning his redshirt to play these last two games. - Wish he would of sit - -but I tell you he looks so much better. - -I don't know how much to put into it is because of the competition OR has he really improved that much. - -I think maybe some of both - -Texas - - sucks AND Jalen has improved and maturing does at times throws a really nice ball has a cannon for an arm
