They may need bigs but for sure not at the 5. - -they may want to play him there but he hates the 5 he has been reported, not sure with the new Coach of Davis if that changes things for him or not
So just have to sit back and just wonder and really don't think there IS a good solid answer to this. The question becomes or I should/would say IF Jones does not become the HC & I really don't think there is a snow balls chance in hell that he does but if he doesn't I sure the hell hope they retain him on the staff.
Main reasoning and the longer this HC search continues - -the longer it goes on the more connection with these players, the stronger that connection becomes. He is very popular with the players it seems , he seem to have alot of backing from the players before he was announced the Interim , and not by any means am I a Jones basher. I like the guy & maybe it would be in the best interest to let him have the year , see how things turn out. You add it up with him having that bond with the players & on plus on top of that the OC that just recently came in - -if we retain these two then you have A LOT less disruption.
I'm really afraid we name that new Coach and not retain Jones in some aspect , were going to lose players - -maybe mass and that for sure we can't afford.
Then we have another problem that very well could arise , just what we need. - - What about the new OC ? - -we get another new HC he wants to bring in another OC - - THAT sits us back for sure , the kids just learning DeBord's Scheme his Offense get comfortable with it and then we let him go ? - -Kids have to start ALL OVER - - YET AGAIN another new offensive scheme that's just not good, especially for a team that has been so terrible for so long.
Still questions to be answered, just think personally we need to try and keep these guys in some way - -cal me crazy , but I think not

One thing for sure about this whacky off season with this new Transfer rule - - sure has kept things lively and exciting , different for sure , something/new news almost daily.
Don't you get the sense with like take if we were to land Bishop for example , don't you think that just says more and more Ochai not returning ? maybe not the same position player but yet at times they would be, at first I thought there is no way Ochai would leave - -now not so much. Every day I have just started thinking - - - he gone yet another player going over sea's picking up some green , he sure is not NBA ready

With all these guys leaving - - new guys coming in - - Think this off Season work uts conditioning - - players getting tgether is going to be very important , probably one of the most important times in Coach Selfs time here. Players getting accquainted with one another as a team together.
I mean sure they know one another BUT as a team together here at KU -- lots of new kids get that chemistry with one another - - we could Easily end up with EIGHT new players on this upcoming roster, practices once they open next fall is going to be very important getting these kids to fit in the right places learning the system.
I think we still have a pretty good chance to be a very good team - think we for sure will have more athletic team, this year it's going to be even more important for Mitch - -Christian to step up show some leadership as returnee's from this team help the others out any way they can. - -One thing these newbies is going to experience something they have not experienced before & that's Coach Self's Boot Camp - - in for a real treat lol

With Jones I think that KU football will not be worse than last year.
he already had some support & backing of recruits when he wasn't the interim Coach - -they was already backing him along with current players. I think if he remain Coach throughout this year - -this roster would stay in tact. Hell we took a chance many moons ago with the Basketball Coach. A fella named Roy Williams, he really didn't have any head Coaching experience and we saw how that turned out. - -I know totally different but just saying.

Great Points. - -Drew had for sure HANDS DOWN a lot harder conditions when he took over Baylor no question. Coach Self is a great Coach for sure, but if people are trying to say Self had it harder then Drew - -come on man let me have some of the shit your smoking - cause it's difinetely made you dillusional.
Baylor's program was on the verge of an Atomic meltdown when Drew took over that, what he has done at Baylor deserves the props that are due.
Coach Self has done great in following Roy & yes it's hard to follow someone that done as well as Roy - -BUT the shelf wasn't exactly bare when he Coach took over , it will be like when Coach Self leaves - -it's going to be very hard to replace him BUT again WHEN he does the shelf isn't going to be bare by a long shot, Not even close to what Drew took over with at Baylor.
NOW just like when Drew leaves Baylor it's going to be really hard to follow him because of what he HASA DONE with that program, those are things that will be really hard to compare to for what he has done. I agree with you 10000% Fight Song Writer
