The Duke NCAA Tournament drama isn't over yet. If they somehow managed to end up as a first four out team, they could end up as a replacement team if teams from multiple bid leagues have to drop out.

Rece Davis was told that Duke will be able to play in the NCAA Tournament if they end up as an at-large (not happening) or a replacement team (possibility). So there is a potential scenario where Duke could end up replacing Kansas in the NCAA Tournament.

Matt Tait just tweeted that there is optimism that KU will participate in the tourney. Not a sure thing, but looks better than 50% chance.

There are a lot of questions swirling like "What will the team look like? Who will be ineligible?"

But I just asked Tait if the NCAA will adjust the seeding based on who is eligible and he said the NCAA would seed based on body of work and he noted that the OU game helped and the lack of the Texas game did not hurt.

According to ESPN who talked with the Commissioner of this I guess and it says: - -After the tourney bracket has been announced - - teams will not be re-seeded so if were eligible and get picked whatever seed we get put at - - that's where we will stay no matter who from the team goes to Indy

So the way I'm grasping this at this point and what we know or pretty much seems the case is - - That Jalen is the one with the COVID, which IF that is truly the case then means IF we do indeed make the tourney , we would be without Jalen this opening weekend right ?

Then Coach Self is saying that David McCormack and Tristan Enaruna will not go to Indy with the team on Monday , which in turn if they are just in protocol/meaning not necessarily they tested positive but more likely contact tracing -so if that's the case and they would test negative would then fly up to Indy later in the week right ? to join the rest of the team right ?

Well I see where we are in pretty thick on a 2022 recruit. - - 6'9 SF out of Bull City NC Jai Smith. - Looking to make a decision in April after visiting the Schools he is interested in.

The 5 he lists is : - - -Memphis - - Fla , - - - Houston - - - Illinois - - - & KU : - -broke down all five said this about KU :

KU could help me be more of a Pro. Coach's think I can be a Great , Great player as a stretch Big that can shoot the ball.

Think KU could be in a really good spot if they truly are interested, he speaks pretty solid about KU. You go to 247 and in his top 5 Schools of interest it Shows Maryland & KU as Warm others on there Cool, yet in his article he doesn't mention Maryland - -so who knows. I think when they list those 5 schools of interest on the 247 - -those are early things change BUT KU is mentioned in both area's - -we will see

This has been talked about at least locally a lot today - - I know it's been brought up National too. That is now do we think that in the future , do we think we will see the elimination of Conference post Season tourneys? - -This COVID seems like it would all fuel to that fire - you really have nothing to gain from these things , other then just another trophy. - -A true Champion of a Conference is determined over the Course of the Season - - NOT a 3 /4 day weekend tourney.

The Consencus seems like we are going to see many Conferences do away with post season tourneys or teams will opt out of them. - I would have to agree

Not directly with us, but thinking with Texas just automatically sliding into Championship because of our COVID - - this is going to be a rested Texas team night off , while Oklahoma State and Baylor battling it out, might give Texas a little edge plenty of rest

Gary Bedore has said that Coach Self told him that THREE PLAYERS will not travel with the team to Indy on Monday. Now don't know who that maybe , Could be the two Tristan & Dave plus the other player that played last night - - - Could be some walk on's. whoever.

Matt Tait Tweeted out everything he is hearing was sounding positive that KU will play in the tourney. - -only takes 5 healthy players, sounds like as long as we have 5 healthy players - - were playing. could be Harris Braun , Jethro , Tehan , Oachi whatever but as long as we have FIVE - -saying the fan base deserve it - -the players deserve it - would probably drop to a 12 or 13 seed if it's walk on's and such with a couple af regulars what a mess. -- Marcus is Jalens room mate being told Lordy

just rread off another site that KU has until 11:00 p.m. tomorrow night to notify the NCAA if they would be able to play in the tourney

Let's face it, other than a few teams that get lucky at the right time, they already know who is in. It is not just Kansas that has positives.

Do you have a list of other teams that have positives? I've only heard of Duke and Kansas.

Virginia & the # 1 seed of the I believe in the MAAC along with Duke & KU at this minute

The way the NCAA has sit it up is - - as long as you have 5 healthy players you can play in the NCAA tourney ,BUT I don't think it's gonna matter I think we are done. - the 2 that is in protocol - no the positive.

Thing is it was someone who played in last nights game , which means anyone around him has now been exposed
