Well tomorrow night another Challenge , Iowa St. -Seems like not many going on our side. Like a 3 point underdog right now. We still have our doubters. OK , soooo we just have to strap it up---- go out and bust them right square in the mouth. - -showing a couple of team stats: - -Offensively Iow St very challenged:

Iowa St only 337. 8 total yards of offense. - -Averaging 214.9 passing - & only 122.9 rushing , not to impressive.--- -KU at 443 total- --229.5 passing - -& 213.6 --rushing.

Iowa St strength obviously is in their defense, opp scoring per game against them is only 19.8 - - -I just think if we can gt our running game established , then they are going to have trouble stopping us. I'm sorry I just am not overly concerned about them - maybe I should but I'm not. The one thing we can't do is Jason make bad decisions passing. Iowa State secondary very strong.

We haven't had a lot of luck playing thee but I just think this is the yr. - - I think WE DO get the run game going, I'm gonna say KU 28- - -Iow St -- 20. What you think , let me hear you - -ROCK CHALK

Well I'm gong to hold back on things as this subject is already gotten to people taking swipes at others. Some because just because they don't agree with what they think and that can go both ways. Now like the announcers said last night what your going to see is a lot of teams double even triple up on Hunter down low - -and we seen how that went, they are going to make us prove we can hit the outside jumper, which at this point we can't - -Again I asked this last night , how many medium range jumpers did we make last night ? - -hell how many did we even attempt ? -Until we prove we have to respect our outside game then good luck with the inside. Oh and if Hunter is or is gonna be the National Player of the year ? ? / That's a whole different story lol. he is SLOW like they said he came out of a league of plodders, I have said from day one he is just a bad fit, we are at our best when we get out and run transition. - The offense just looks bad

If anyone thinks we are kicking butt by scoring in the 50's and low 60's - -let me have some of what your smoking cause that has got to be some good shit. and you wanting to rely on our defense- -- lol watch the game again and see how many time Fort Hays beat us on straight line drives to the hole for layups. - -Is the season lost ? - -Hell no, but right now I haven't seen where we are going to win a lot either

AT THIS POINT as of today, I would say this team is no better then a 2nd or 3rd place team in the Big 12 this Season . Well can't say watching this is got me all warm and fuzzy. - -Hunter on defense is a real liability , like a sloth. - - -At this point we have no outside shooter - -ya Kevin a couple but 2-10. Like they were mention teams going make KU hit that outside shot.

Furphy made nice pass, but just not a lot to say- - YAY , I agree This team is going to have trouble at times scoring. - -Parker looking good - -Three fouls very nice. -I just don't know right now.

Ya Hunt hit his 1st 4 shots but dam I would hope he has a 7 inch advantage a Fort Hays Starter their tallest player that ha played is 6'7

Still real concerned about this teams depth. - I think it's going to be a big hindrance as the season progresses. - I think in the back third of the Season , we are going to see some worn down players, they gonna have to play A LOT of minutes throughout the year.

No room at all for injuries - --foul problems -- -or outside issues. - -I still wonder how well Hunter gonna fit in this program, to me just seems like a bad fit. -Our best success is we are out and running fast paced- -is Hunter going to fit that role? -- I don't think so, lot of body to keep a fast pace, unless we play slow down ball limit possessions - ----- I dunno we shall see

After the teams continued fight last weekend I think we can pull this out. - -ISU tuff defense like always , 13 pass interception's - -3rd in the big 12 against the run but I think we can gte it done.

It's just crazy how this football team is turning things around. Let's just look at things that have happened just since beating Oklahoma this past Saturday shall we ?

FIRST : - -Coach Leipold gets named the Coach of the Week with the Bear Bryant award , 1st of his Career. It is given for commitment to exceeding on the field expectations.

SECOND :- -Coach Leipold gets named the Coach of the Week with the Dodd Trophy. 1st of his Career . It is given for significant wins while also embodying the awards three pillars: -of Scholarships , leadership , & integrity.

THIRD :- -KU gets named the Cheez it National team of the week.

FOURTH : - -Jarod Casey gets nominated for the Burlsworth Trophy along with 72 other players . - It is an award for the most outstanding player who has went from being a walk on to where they are now.

FIFTH : - - KU is or is ranked for the 1st time ever in the CFP's - -- # 21.

I would have to say that's a pretty dam full week/month of nominations, awards and such for a team/Coach/Schol that just a couple of years ago was the laughing stock in America for being a College football team, - -gotta say pretty dam proud of what this team / Coach /Staff / for what this team has done. We are for sure on the way up. - -Way to go guys - ---ROCK CHALK

Boy everywhere I turn , read , talk & listen to - - all these different podcasts to the Man talking about what a good Coach - - Coach L is. Talking about the job Coach has done in his time at KU, yesterday listening to another podcast and they felt Coach L was probably the best Coach in the Big 12 & one of the better Coach's in the Nation.

They said actually Coach Leipold & Klieman for K/State were probably 1 & 2 in the Big 12. I've said from the 1st interview that I heard with him every time he speaks just oooozes class and knowledge. We got a very good Coach. Now certainly his staff is pretty good themselves, part of that comes with continuity we are fortunate to have these guys.

Two things are a must # 1 is we better be ready to Pony up whatever we need to do & to make sure Coach doesn't leave for another job. I know there has been some scuttlebutt about the possibility of the Michigan job opening up and he was at the top of their list - -then also the Michigan St job. Personally I don't think he is leaving. Have heard about how him and his wife have publicly talked about how they would like to retire here. I think the age factor plays into this some, and then I also think he really is invested here, just strikes me as a guy that wants to see the finished project he has started. - whatever we need they need to be ready to keep him.

2nd: - -we need to try our best to keep Coach K from leaving if it comes up. I heard another perfect example on a podcast the guys said they aren't even fans of KU but how they are being drawn in and how much they enjoy watching KU because of our offensive scheme. - -So much movement and talking about how hard it is to prepare for KU game plan because of the diversity of the offense, botto line is we got some pretty dam decent Coach's can't afford to let them leave. - -ROCK CHALK

Sounds like to me Jalen is not thee yet, hell who knows but that statement makes it sound like not sure if he is a go Saturday or not.

Guys , First let me say in advance grammar/English class back in High School was not my strong suit so I realize my Capitalization , Commas , periods may be mis used , mis placed so for that during this post I'm truly sorry in advance but hopeful you'll get the jest of it. May get a little long but trying to get my point - -points across again sorry.

So Ok , Anyways with this win this past Saturday wanting to say it meant A LOT - -like a WHOLE LOT because it does so many things. - -This was a STATEMENT game. -I believe it sends out a message to others that we ( KU ) has in reality got this foot ball program turned around, at the very least turned the corner and that we no longer are going to be your kick the can down the road opponent We are no longer that automatic W.

Not only that but we are gaining the fans back, they are coming back making the booth an unfriendly place and not having more other teams fans there then Jay Hawk fans. Our success is also showing our boosters that we are better, this helps with the renovations of the Boothe. Boosters more willing to donate funds to the cause, Boosters want to see results in their investments, results on the field so there is that. Then we have were it helps in recruiting , we had 70 recruits on Campus Saturday, they got to see how the team works - -they got to see an exciting game - -AND they got to see the Win. -They got to see the new upgrade to the weight and training facilities -- . - All a Bonus, they see we are on National TV often now in some form or another ( ESPN ) this coming Saturday Night - -their families more of a chance to see them play.

All these things add up. It's all a vicious cycle that needs to join & come together. Kinda like in order to get better recruits a huge part is you need nice facilities/ stadiums to play in , in order to have nice stadium keeping up with the Jone's you need money , in order to get that money from Boosters you need to win, produce results. In order to produce results you need better players - -it's all a cycle

So I means this win means so much in so many ways , Are where we at we can win the Big 12 ? - -Not yet but it's like Urban Meyer ? from big Noon kickoff said - -WHY can't we be a football school? Great spot to be, - -answer is we can be. - -Were getting there. Do you realize that KU is only one of five Schools in the Nation to host both ESPN Game Day AND Fox Big Noon Kickoff? Unrealistic ranking for this bunch but that's okay. The difference in the game was more or less because of where it was played. Big advantage for Illinois, their fans packed it in and supported them like the game meant something.

This game had a conference game feel to it and the other team made more plays. Ku got their best shot in an exhibition.

We played like a team that's short a key player and that's the reality we are faced with this season due to what happened.
