I a little worried about this game to be honest, without Garrett both Wade and Brown seem like match up nightmares at this point. Vick or Dotson prob is on Brown while Ochai will have to face Wade. Rebounding hasn't been a strength for us in years it seem but I believe it will play a huge factor in who wins tonight. Hopefully we will come out in similar fashion as we did Saturday. It just seems like when we have a big like we just did we look terrible the next.

I can't remember the last SOTU address I've watched, prob H.W. or Clinton. Politics is something I waste little time with, I won't be changing over regardless of how the game is going.
The NY Post and NY Times are nothing short of total garbage.
It's really one of the biggest games that they've had in the Octagon. They have a chance to put KU back a full 2 games in the second half of conference play, that place will be crazy with how bad we have been on the road. They will smell blood in the water even more so than usual in a game that is always their super bowl. It's a huge week for them with us on Tuesday and Baylor on Saturday, they have a chance to get a grasp on the lead with no company. Haven't seen a Vegas line on the game yet but BPI (joke at best) gives KU a 56% chance to win.
I think you are giving ISU too much credit and how tough it is to win on the road in this conference not enough credit. I bet the winner of this conference has a bare minimum of 5 loses, more than likely 6. WV did just beat OU at home this past weekend, they also beat us and blew a 21 point second half lead in manhattan. They sneak up and get a couple more wins.
The NCAA is traveling a slippery slope at this point with coming down hard on some while ignoring other obvious infractions. Over half of the Billions that they take in each year is made in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. If it turns into a who can rat whom out fest, there won't many teams able to play in it. A former D1 assistant was on ESPN radio a few years back, guy had worked his way up from small schools and D2 to a Mid major D1 program. He said that if any coach said there was "free" recruit he was flat out a liar.
Not a big chiefs fan by any stretch but the front office finally had their heads out long enough to draft Mahomes. Seems like they would trade or sign a free agent back up year after year. Guys like Montana, Bono, Grbac, Gannon, Green, Cassel and Smith. I wondered for decades how many times they would do this to themselves, its really one of the most mind boggling or idiotic moves to make over and over.
If I'm Self while I was recruiting this past year I was wearing wire. So if John Doe said Coach K is give me a car and 50k, I want more to go to kansas. I tell the NCAA, I got your poster boy, your move folks. I still said we need to drop Adidas right now and go with NIKE, the NCAA obviously is getting a monster check from Phil Knight at this point.
@bmensch1 wrong, I was one of few that said if we get to FF people wouldnt care about the home loses and as usual I was right. I'm not saying this team isn't going to win again as some insinuated before today's game. But I'm not willing to just say they will now cruise to B12 title either. Let's see if they can put together a few good games or weeks is all I'm saying and I dont believe its foolish to ask that at this point. People overreact good and bad too much. I'm still standing by my expectations of just making the tournament. Now that could change if see STEADY improvement not one game my friend.
@KUSTEVE You could be right, I’m just not sure Long needs an extension based on that. He already has a crap load of money and is highly respected in this profession. I would think this could very well be his last stop and he would want to end his career with a solid FB and B.B. program.

@dylans I’m sure dozens of power 5 programs have came at Few, he’s probably too late in his career to leave. Now the Blue Bloods like us I don’t believe have came after him so who knows. People don’t give him enough credit for what he has done, Murray State, Wichita State and a list of other mid majors have had good 5 year run but he is in a class of his own in consistency for a non power 5 program.

@HighEliteMajor which is what I was getting at, Long inherited this mess. He had zip to with it and I’m okay with saying maybe he shouldn’t have done this or that I’m sure there are a gods plenty on his team both interally and out sourced that are telling him just what the hell to do. Not get this really interesting on here but I’ve heard a ton of rumors of Pop retiring and Self to San Antonio as early as at this seasons end.

@KUSTEVE I've been worried about this all along, I agree with all if your statement except that this is on Long. I highly doubt Long did that without input from dozens of folks including Bill Self.

To put any of this on Long is Ludicrous to put it nicely. He was likely doing what was recommended by our legal team. He also has in his contract he cant be fired from findings of this FBI probe.

Tyshawn was one of those guys that could make a unbelievable play and then turn around and make you wanna pull your hair out a minute later... Love that guy, met him once.
Nice to see Charlie recover from some boneheaded shots early and learn to be a positive impact when his shot isn't falling. Dude finished with 6 assists. His shot is as bad as Garrett % wise.
The thing about today for me was the energy was better than we have shown in weeks right from the tip. I always say if you play hard, good things will happen. I loved seeing guys smiling and having fun, even Grimes flashed a smile a couple of times. We played loose and had fun. It will take a similar effort again tuesday in Manhattan.
@BShark Thats how you know you have a good player, misses a couple of open looks but still was very effective in the end.
Great game for sure, only issue was offensive rebounds at the start of the 2nd half and a couple of nit picking turnovers.
Ochai had a Double double, his rebounding and defense is great for a kid thats just played his 8th game I believe. He was a huge get at this point, a diamond in the rough.
I think we should use this line up going forward, MG is a great defender but the offense look better. Some of it was we were hitting from the outside but I like everyone of our guards shots better than his.
I think the refs knew it was BS so now Tech has had like 6 straight fouls.

No way that was off KU, just rewatched it lol, The energy level today is so much better. I've noticed when Vick starts talking down the floor he seems to get more and more fired up. Offense is better with this good ball movement and without Garrett.
@KirkIsMyHinrich Na, EJ at ISU was way worse, this was close. You have to remember that you don't have to be set, just in front, in legal guarding position. Block/charge calls are always questionable just like a ball/strike in baseball.
