@JayHawkFanToo Agreed but you act like he turned down some high profile jobs. People forget he is in the top 10 of coach salaries, makes more than Jay Wright and Roy Williams who are more than one hit wonders.

@JayHawkFanToo I don’t think he’s had that many opportunities to leave and go to a better situation. Texas got who they wanted according to a Texas booster that I’m friends with. Alabama isn’t a place I’d want to go as a head Basketball coach and has been a doormat most years in the SEC where only UK fans give a crap about basketball. The UCLA job if he was actually offered it, would be the only decent team he has turned down. I bet if Roy or Coach K retires and offers he’d be gone on a red eye the next day.

@Kcmatt7 I just think UCLA plays second fiddle to football and has under performed under Alford. Idk if Marsha was officially offer job anyway.

@BShark Interesting that a guy that shoots over 61% from the line can’t make 50% in a 3 point loss and it someone else fault. In that case our 03 team that lost to Syracuse because of Fts that shot over 70% as team for the year is a conspiracy as well. The refs knew KU was gonna have a bad night from the line.

Obviously Dook is the best 2 seed in the tournament, kinda odd that they received the 3rd 2 seed when most folks thought they’d get a 1 over us or Xavier. Dook on paper is one of if not the best team in the country with how they play on both ends. They are 3rd in Adj offense and 8th in Adj defense (KU is 5th and 47th). The stat that scares me the most going in to this game is 39.2%, Dooks offensive rebound percentage which is #1 in the land. On paper and talent wise it should be a route in favor of Dook. The keys for us are 3% shooting, Defense and Rebounding. We have to have least an average or better 3 point shooting game and play above average in the other 2 categories. If there ever was a time for all of guards to be playing at a high level it would be tomorrow. You all know I take stats this time of year with a gain of salt because you can’t predict who’s gonna have a monster game and who’s gonna be cold as ice. I trust DG, Svi and Vick, guys that have been sent home in this round for 2 straight years to play with a big chip on their shoulders. Hopefully that enough to give us a fighters chance, we all know of Self struggles in this round but the last time we won in this round we again were underdogs lacking depth and talent to a ACC foe.

One thing I’ll say is Duke has given Syracuse several open shots from deep and haven’t been able to capitalize on it, 3 made 3s so far. That bodes well for us if we can have guys hitting.

Marsha isn’t as good as people think he is, he decent but let’s look at his numbers. 11 years at WSU three conference titles in a crap league, his tournament record as a coach is 11-14. If you take away the one final four he’s hasn’t been all that special.

Brunson has had a great, DG has to snap outta his shooting slump, like on Sunday. DG I believe to be the most important player for a single team in the gam ethics season. I was impressed the guys held a solid lead with him sitting twice for a few moments, first time all yea did believe. Clemson got a very favorable whistle IMO, Doke and DG both had 2 fouls that were nothing short of laughable. The only call we got was when they tied up Newman and got a foul call instead, other than that I thought they got all the calls that could’ve gone ether way.

@BShark I said time and time again I’ve been so frustrated with how rude our fans haven’t been this season. Mitch played very little tonight, if you used the bathroom you may have missed his time. Silvio is starting to come into his own and I’d be shocked if doesn’t play more than Mitch the rest of way regardless of how far we go. He played great with his career high of 31, was the main reason it wasn’t an absolute massacre. Should’ve been anyways if we made fts and didn’t run clock with 10 minutes to go. He’s a solid player but I disliked how much trash he seemed to talk being down bye double digits most the game, it looks pretty dumb to run your hole and fire up the team that is already spanking you.

I was having flashbacks the last five minutes like crazy, but yes it would’ve been worse we had a 20 point lead with 12 minutes to go. They shouldn’t of scored 20 more points but survive and advance. Winning pretty means nothing, I hope with the way we played the last few minutes it has us focused for Sunday. Little worrried about Doke, he was limping noticeably the last few minutes he was in.

The trouble is that most KSU fans I know are terrible fans, most wanted Weber gone after last year. They are so arrogant it's hard to fathom, how does a team with 3 conference titles in the last 100 years and 9 bowl wins claim to be a national power in football? If they make the FF we won't stop hearing about it as long as we are on this earth. I would say that I'm happy for the state and the kansas kids on their roster as well as the other guys that have earned the chance to win Saturday.

Well the UK losing talk was fun but this things over, UK probably blows this wide open in the next 5 minutes and gets Cal to the NC without playing a team with a decent seed.

To be honest I really don’t know who to root for at times. I definitely don’t want see Cal to get another FF or NC but I feel the winner of this one sleep walks to the NC. In terms of KSU if by some grace of God himself they make the FF or win the darn thing that all we will hear about for the rest of all of our lifetimes.

Weber has proven he can coach talent but has lacked massively in developing it. This years team is the exception not the rule, He will have no excuses not to win the conference next year, they return every single player that plays on this.

@Kcmatt7 Great start for KSU but now it looks like they’ll go on their text book 8 minute scoring drought. I feel if that happens they could be in trouble, they simply don’t have the fire power to come back most the time (they did against us in the B12 semis but then followed it with another drought).

You ever just look at a guy and think he’s a douche? That’s how Padgett is to me. Always seemed to be on some high horse. I thought it was funny when he left, said he didn’t make believe in Coach Self or his style of coaching. Then Self wins the NC a few years later.

The stupidity of it is, how will this help Kansas Football? I think there is a right and wrong way to do things, this is wrong and has no net gain. They ain’t gonna fire Beaty or Zenger this late in the year. Best thing we can do is support the team we have and hope for the best next year. This has been an frustrating year from our fans IMO.

It will be interesting to see how he does in the league. I don't blame him for going, the team doesn't have much talent elsewhere and he's projected in the top 10 in every draft board I've seen. That would be tough to improve on, although I think he could use another year to develop.

@wissox Wiggs new contract is pretty nice, but I agree. He never really seems locked into the game or to be doing any of the little things, his FG% isn’t great and it’s very streaky. He has to start doing stuff to help the team more, like rebounding and getting assists. Most the time when I look at the box scores and he has over 20 points, he shot the ball 15+ times to get it. He is by all accounts a great guy and has the skills to be in the league for a long but him KO, drove me nuts in there one season. Both didn’t seem to any fire or hustle, they seemed to good to do the dirty work that wins games IMO.

All I could think about Saturday at the game as the Michigan fans were across the court from me, was the 2013 Michigan game. All of the sudden a 10 point lead was 3 in the final minute, I sweating a little there. We had the better team for 35+ plus minutes that game, EJ missed the front end of a 1 and 1, coupled with some silly turnovers while Burke hit a shot outta his ass to tie it.
