@mayjay Well in this small town growing up we always were playing sports in the yard or hunting and fishing. This is pretty much an oil patch town IMO ether you work in the oil fields or farm. I spent some of my youth working on my uncles horse farm, cleaning stalls, feeding cattle and hauling hay its hard work. I've drove a few wheat trucks in my day but never really been a farmer. I personally am a mechanic which is pretty hard work but everyone makes more money in the business (service writers, managers and sales managers) while you actually do the manual labor. I prefer a smaller town to raise my son, like the schooling better and the quite streets. I did live in Salina for a few years growing up after my moms second of three divorces and hated it, we lived in low income neighborhoods and got stuff stolen almost daily. Bet yes i hope to teach my son how to be happy with he's got. I've got a long ways to go before I'm where i'd like to be and not sure how to get there but I'm married and have live in a nicer house than I ever have before.

@mayjay I remember having to listen to plenty of games because they weren't on TV or because we didn't have cable. But it seemed like between getting 3, 33 and the games on CBS I could watch about 15 games a year back then. I'm only 28 years young, I did walk just over a mile to school most days and never had cable, internet or a even a computer growing up we was poor. I didn't get a cell phone til I was 20. We didn't have hot water in some of the houses we lived in or a home phone most the time. I grew up in the late 80s and 90s but we lived like it was the 60s.

I think we need to start winning some games in this champions classic

@KUSTEVE I think it will be on cox 22 if that's what you have. I'm sure ESPN 3 will have it but it could be blacked out, welcome to my world living in a town of 700 people no big time cable like cox or time warner and ESPN blacks it out most of the time. I miss the old days where you could get them with bunny ears on channel 33 or 3 for years when I was a kid.

Kansas plays host to the Cowgirls of OSU Saturday at 11 am on FS1. Okie state is probably a mid pack B12 team they have looked solid at times and troubling at times and have played very inconsistent. They maybe play to our strengths a little bit on paper, they have struggled in getting their running game going what so ever just averaging 130 rush yards per game. It will be interesting to see how much they try to run it looking at our struggle to stop it. They can pass well but that's our strength defensively and pass rush. Its unknown who will play at the QB for us idk that it matters at this point between how bad all 3 have played and our o line. I think we have a good shot to compete, as we have the last few times they came to Lawrence, in 2014 they needed a late Kick off for a TD bye current Chiefs returner Hill for a TD to escape 27-20. I also think the early kick favors the home team and this is the 3rd time we have played early this year. I'm thinking we keep it close for 2 and a half quarters before our defense runs out of seem. I'll take OSU 38 Kansas 16. Still one of the games I think we can steal if the cards fall right. For us to win we must win the turnover battle and get 8 or more TFLs. RCJH

@jayballer54 Some of the good ones that come to mind for me in the regular season are the win in Vegas vs Florida in December 06. KU vs. Baylor at Allen in 08 where sherron came to life. Although it was a loss Texas A&M at Allen in 07 was a great game. KU vs. Duke in the Maui title game in early 11 which we were raped in lol. KU vs OU in 06 where the youngsters lead us back from down double digits was great, I call this +the forgotten one most don't remember it . But man we have had some great games no doubt.

@BeddieKU23 How the hell did KSU get a vote let alone 3 lol Webber must be spending extra time on his knees. I saw on CBS they had all D1 teams rated and put WSU as 26, I spit out my drink I was laughing so hard they barely got in to the dance last year and lost half their team.

@wissoxfan83 I would agree for the most part that the OAD hasn't been all that positive for us when you at how far we went in the NCAAs and how good they actually were. Henry has decent as a player but we lost in the second round not all on him of coarse tho, Selby was ok but was suspended by the NCAA and had a stress fracture that wouldn't go away so hard to judge him, but we did make the elite 8 which is as good as we have done with a OAD (he barely was drafted and is a ghost now should've stayed). Wigs and Joel team had a high ceiling but Joel was hurt and Wigs was inconsistent this team also lost in the second round. Next you have Cliff and KO which I liked both of there potential but we got beat again in the second round, I actually was shocked KO went in the first round think he could grow to a solid player but should have stayed. Last year we really didn't have a OAD that mattered with Diallo hardly playing but he we did make the elite 8. Its obvious Bill Selfs best teams have been upper class heavy with 08 and 12 honorable mention 04,07, 11 (OAD) and 16 (technically OAD).

I say F**kin a right lol always like KO. We will get our chance there this year hopefully with similar results to the last time we were in Rape Arena

@Crimsonorblue22 I saw that, I think its a good thing. No sense in rushing back to get murdered, give some young guys more PT to get ready for next year. I think the LB core along with QB and O line are the areas that need the most improvement this off season for us to compete next year.

Kansas which still ranks in the top five for TFLs per games leads the NCAA in one category that's not surprising but terrible- Turnovers. Beaty also claimed this week that the QB position is always up for grabs kinda interesting to me that Cozart didn't play a snap Saturday after Willis was benched. He also stated that the position had not progressed as he had hoped.... obviously lol you and thousands of KU fans alike. One thing that I've noticed with our schedule that I hate is the number teams we play after a bye is ludicrous, Memphis, TT (we had that week as well), TCU, Baylor and now OSU all after an off week looking at you schedule makers. I think that hurts our shot at an upset with coaches telling them not to over look us for 13 days and getting more time to look at our 8 plays.

@wissoxfan83 I didn't before they paired us with WSU in 2014, which was BS we shouldn't have got a 2 seed with Cliff not playing, Perry and Seldon hurt. They had no reason to be less than a 4 seed let alone a 7. I also didn't like the UNI pairing they lost 2 games all year and was ranked 20th I believe but had a 9 seed. But yet Gonzaga gets a one seed in 2013 with worse RPI and SOS then the before mentioned teams. They do match ups that think will get viewers after the first weekend like UK and Indiana last year and the 3 times we have played UNC.

@wissoxfan83 One other thing I forgot to mention is that the ACC has the ACC/B10 challenge which probably accounts for most of their true road games and UNC Tulane really lol lets go play at Kansas Wesleyan. I personally don't think its that we aren't prepared I think some of the big issues are luck of the draw and injuries have been killer to us prior to last year. People forget that Duke lost in the first round to Lehigh in 2012 and Mercer in 2014.

@Crimsonorblue22 I know this I live about an hour north of Wichita but they also have talked about it several other times in my life, not old enough to have been around for WSU football. But if they were smart they would get it going while BB is making them good money and enrollment is up or they'll be in the MVC forever.

@JayHawkFanToo Ya i would not to mention bye your logic there would be no lower level colleges like NAIA and such it isnt all about making the pros, most guys i know that played loved playing its more than just a game to them, dont know that i've met an athlete that doesn't feel that way. @wissoxfan83 I think some times we play too tough of a schedule as for mentioned Dukes. I think we always play good Non Con games at home from UK last year to GT and MSU (home and road) in selfs first few years to some good road games: SDSU, Michigan, Ohio state, Temple, Villanova, Florida, UK, Cal, UCLA all road games under self that are off the top of my head. Our SOS is usually top ten been #1 for like 3 straight years not sure why we are in the conversation of not playing road games.

@justanotherfan I wish we would've just kicked out Texas, I bet they end up a independent anyway doubt they would go to the Pac 12 or SEC because they wont be the top dog like they currently are. I would've dropped Texas to keep Nebraska and Colorado in then Added 3 teams in Louisville, Cinncy and Memphis. The thing that is laughable is that it must come down to markets because Texas sucks in most sports right now outside of VB and have for the last few years which VB probably has zero baring on this. @Crimsonorblue22 Ya I just don't know why he would be I think this double round robin beats the hell outta each other too much with only two true give me games, maybe that's why the B12 under preforms most the time at the NCAAs. I think the only reason ESPN and media outlets don't wan them to expand is they want 4 super conferences to cover not 5 or 6.
