@Hawk8086 I think so I don't think NY/NJ has a ton of Rutgers fans personally with how bad they suck in most sports and all the pro teams in that area. There is NY Rangers, Knicks, Jets (technically NJ) , Mets, Yankees and NJ has the Devils they don't have the Nets per say but its just down the road in Brooklyn and I believe they have a MLS team aswell. I think with being one of a few colleges close to KC we get a ton of viewers there and with KS not having a pro team per say and plenty of hawk fans in Methouri any way.

@Hawk8086 They have Rutgers, Purdue and Illinois that are almost as bad I would pick us to beat purdue or Rutgers at home this year hell we gave Rutgers a game on the road last year and they lost several starters.
The TV deal is a bunch of crap to me to start with, especially the shorthorn network that fucked us all. My thing is even if the networks don't want to pay for more schools what are they gonna do? just not televise B12 games? Someone would pick it up if they didn't like NBC, CBS's trio with TRU and TBS. I don't see them wanting to get shut out in the mid west. But yes if this conference makes it til this TV deal is done in 2024 I will be shocked, Hopefully the big 10 comes calling and our football team improves in the next few years Rutgers and Purdue are almost as bad.
After a meeting of the minds in the conference that lasted 5 hours, the verdit is in the b12 will not be adding any teams. Sounds like it had a lot to do with the tv rights to the conference held by Fox and ESPN. Apparently they dont want to pay anyone out side of the east coast. This conference could very well end up being considered a mid major before too much longer IMO.

I talked a few weeks back how the B12 had no teams in the AP top 15 for the first time in conference history. Things have change a little bit with Baylor staying unbeaten and OU starting to play like the team everyone thought they could be as well as the rise of West Virginia who is off to a 5-0 start after spanking TT in Lubbock. Anyway with the new rankings out Baylor is up to 9th followed by WVU at 12th and OU at 16th. I doubt Baylor is there to stay my money is still on OU to take the conference.
@JayHawkFanToo I'm guessing you weren't a athlete, I understand what your saying but I think most guys would say they wish they could've played longer.

I've always been an impatient bastard when it comes to waiting but having late night so early it just sucks its a month before we play and sucks more that with the new cable deal I cant watch the exhibition games. I always disliked waiting for the girls game to end when I played (HS girls BB can be summed up to tie ups and fouls). Ugh it just aint no fun what everyone doing to cope with this? lol
Not to beat the hell outta a dead horse but it pissed me off that Cozart was given a medical redshirt for last year when he played in most of 4 games but Cummings who I think is the best QB we've had since Ressing just didn't get his chance to go most of the time not get a medical redshirt not playing a down LY.

@Texas-Hawk-10 Agreed @jayballer54 I'm not saying fire Beaty (never had unless atleast 3 years is up), just think he must hire an OC before next season. Its going to be a long road. KU can and will win another this year by your logic how did we play TCU so close they lost to OU bye 5. Different teams match up differently and a new day is a new day everyone knows this. I think we can beat Texas, ISU or OSU, just depends who shows up to play. KSU probably not, I don't think there is much talent gap but better coaching and experience.
@jaybate-1.0 Nebraska actually is doing solid this year, they are 6-0 and ranked 10th in the country. They have been mediocre but just went thru a coaching change. I'd be happy in the big 10 because I don't think they are as deep as the b12 most years maybe this year. But they still have Illinois, Purdue, Indiana and Rutgers who usually aren't to good and we could compete with most days, we played Rutgers tight on the road LY in one of about 3 close road games since MM left.
@DoubleDD On the small ball talk how small will it be? I'd say not very if you put Jackson or Svi at the 4, people forget tho they aren't post players they are both listed at 6'8. I think some teams in college and the Nba are going to a smaller, quicker small ball type of game like golden state. But I also think their is value in a shot blocker down low for obvious reasons. In regards to Embid some may disagree with me on this and that's fine, but there are only a few 7 footers that have came around that have his foot work and agility. Look at shaq if it wasn't a dunk he missed it most the time. After watching several players and from youtube videos there are about 3 guys that are around his size and have his moves IMO. Wilt, Kareem and Hakeem. If he continues to work and stay healthy he could the best pro KU player in awhile.
To sum up how bad our O was Baylor damn near had more INT return yards than we did passing yards with the 4 picks.
Kansas flatout got their asses whipped on the road at the hands of Baylor with a score of 49-7 and believe me the game wasn't that close as Baylor had a 42-0 half time lead and didn't play most offensive starters in the second half. Start off bye thanking the Baylor coaching staff for not putting 78 on us. I guess we maybe are better than Rutgers, hell Michigan's 4th string RB was busting long TD runs last week in a 78-0 game. I kinda hinted at this in my prediction about us not competing not sure I meant being down 42 bye the half but it was a perfect storm for this IMO. Baylor coming off a bye week, our road issues and dealing with losing a game that we should've won last week. There really isn't much to say that's good. I thought about midway thru the first quarter to the mid second the defense had some good series , Baylor easily scored a TD on the opening possession, then Willis thru a pick 6 after we had moved the ball and gotten some first downs. The next five drives the D gave up after that was punt, TD, punt, missed FG and missed FG. Then the offense continued its turnover trouble (totaled 5 for the day) and a bad snap gave Baylor an easy scored from our 3 yard line which opened the flood gates. The other bright spot was Moose's punting ripped a 82 yarder (got a lot rolling help but tied for 4th all time ku) and averaged over 50 yards per punt with another going for over 60 yards. The offense is probably the worst I've ever seen for the first time I think maybe Willis isn't our QB of the future, he looked terrible with 3 picks as did our o line. We had a couple of sacks where it was a play action and as soon as Willis turned he was hit. I'm not sure what the deal is with him is he made 8 starts LY and played in 9 games with 8 TDs and 9 INTs(which to me isn't teribble for a true freshman) this year in 2 starts and playing in 6 games he has 3 TDs and 7 INTs. Really our whole offense that returned everyone has taken a step backwards. I really think a guy just needs to burn the film and move on from this one, work hard all week and try again Saturday against OSU. Honestly OSU doesn't look all that good to me so hopefully we atleast compete in that one to get this taste outta our mouths. RCJH
