@nuleafjhawk lol i think you go to extreme measures with your predictions i guess maybe it makes a guy feel better when we dont get murded by 60 or 70 points.
The Kansas football team will hit the road Saturday for a contest against the Baylor Bears, game will be on FS1 at 1:30 Jayhawk time. Baylor is the B12s only shot at the playoff this year as they are off to an undefeated start but it is a long shot after playing a host of NAIA level schools in the non Conference. Briles is out but its much of the same in Waco, they can score a lot and do so very fast. With the likes of former KU signee Seth Russell at QB and Shock Linwood at RB with a list of solid WRs. Kansas gave us hope last week of maybe being able to steal another win or two before this season ends. That being said I highly doubt we compete in this one, with our road struggles and playing against maybe the best team in this league after losing a game we should have won. I look for Baylor to get started fast and score a lot in this one. I think our defense does get a few TOs and makes some plays but the offense continues to struggle holding on to the ball or finish drives I'm going Baylor 56 Kansas 16. They spanked us in Lawrence LY 66-7 so hopefully we can play a little better than that but only one game between us has been close since the mangino days which was a 2011 double OT game in which we lost. RCJH
@Kcmatt7 Fair enough, but I'll bet you bye 2018 Willis is a starting QB on a bowl team. I think because he is a gamer his game will improve, taking first team reps and playing will help a ton on the long ball =, our recievers have to catch it aswell he hit Quv right in the chest for a TD that was dropped vs TCU, which prob wins us that game.
@Crimsonorblue22 Defiantly not I was talking about the real ones lol, idk why they wont just sell the real ones. I love my Rock Chalk Ellis jersey with the pin stripe lettering.
I think we will see Svi more at the 3 spot and Vick play the 1 and 2 spots. DG cant play PG as well, kinda like the 08 team as in 3 guys can bring it up the floor (Robinson, Chalmers and Collins). I also think with Self hinting at going small we could see Bragg or lightfoot get some PT at the 3 spot I like our depth a lot personally. I hope Mason doesn't average 38 minutes a game this year, that's tough on a guy for 35+ games. I like a starting line up of Mason, Graham, Jackson, Bragg and Lucas, a tall (outside of mason), long, very athletic team that can defend and push the ball at will. Then Vick, Svi, Udoka and lightfoot as subs. I know self usually likes his 8 or 9 man rotation so I doubt any else gets a ton of PT outside of mop up time. I don't really see Coleby getting a ton of minutes this year coming off of his injury but who knows till we get a few weeks in and see who has made the best of their time.
@Crimsonorblue22 I think they are different but in a cool way, I really liked the unis we wore Saturday.
@Lulufulu I bet a good chunk of D1 players look nasty in practice. So wtf is up ESPN filming their practice? Is it because their new combine BS or what. In regards to Brown he's kinda weird in the sense he seems to like KU, UK, UNC and UCLA quite a bit but he has ties to all the above. Just remember this brown quote about KU "There's no better place to play, there's no better place to go to school".
6-5, 302 pound redshirt sophomore was dismissed from the football team today for a violation of team rules, which weren't disclosed. He started Saturday in place of the injured Daniel Wise and played in 8 games a year ago. This is a big blow with how good the D line has played thus far, he had a lot of upside and I was excited about how much depth he brings to the position. But he must have done something fairly serious he also was held out of the season opener for undisclosed reasons. I'd say he got a second chance and blew it. Its disappointing but I stand by Beaty, we don't want to turn in to Penn State or Baylor, teaching these young how to act on and off the field is important, character must be obtained and is more important than winning games.
@Kcmatt7 I disagree with your assessment of Willis, I get tired of hearing about Cozarts athleticism and never see it. Willis is not a great athlete but a solid one, watch that scramble for a TD on Saturday, never have seen cozart do that. Which I realize your not comparing the two but with a decent O line he could grow into a good QB. Think about guys like Graham Harrell and Sam Bradford how athletic were they? I'd say in the same area as Willis and I think Ryan is more athletic than 5 star Heaps or Crist without question.
@Ralph That's the funny thing some of the elite QBs in NFL history weren't all that great in college.
Some people thought this was cocky and i dont, he's saying what every team i ever played for or coached stepped on the floor to do-Win! I dont really care about overall record personally. If we cut down nets in April im good with some losses (like OSU, Texas and KSU in 08.
@BeddieKU23 I wonder if Wigs shot will come around, even in his big games his FG% is terrible bout like Kobe shoot it 35 times to get 30 points.
@stoptheflop I think you'll see him progress from week to week and hopefully bye next year he wil be a solid QB. I think without question the offense moves better with him in for the most part. I wonder how far he'd be if he started this year from the get go and or didnt injure his wrist in the off season. I'm just hoping we can steal a win or two before we close out the year. I'll give him 2 of the turnovers this past week, the tipped ball and the blindside hit and fumble are on the line not him IMO. Thats how we always did it when i played, you have to stay engaged on the o line and protect the QBs blindside if not the turnover hurts your grade for the game not the QBs. At least he didnt pull a cozart and just drop the damn ball lol.
Kansas the #6th ranked team in the land played on the U this evening, sweeping the mildcats of KSUCK. Winning 25-15 in the first, 25-20 in the second and 25-23. Good win against the #16 RPI team, KU improves to 16-2 on the year and 5-1 in the B12. RCJH
@stoptheflop Yes I barely had an account at that time. My likes went from 800 to 11 and post from 820 to 7 lol. So I'm guessing the cut line was just after I joined
@jaybate-1.0 Bill Self student section lol
IDC what you guys say there is no way we land Jackson or Udoka no chance.....
What will we name after the legendary coach self when he retires?
@mayjay2 Attack of the clone Mayjay lol

Sims needs just one touchdown to be the most productive since Briscoe in 09. The great thing about this is he just a sophomore and just about all of our WR corps will return next year.
I wondered what happened, lol my rep is at 11, from 800
I was disappointed in the officiating, but I think it leveled out by the end of the game. In regards to Mason on hield, I think he did a good job keeping him outta the paint off of drives and staying in front but hield is so much taller he was able to shoot over him. I'm honestly ticked at ESPN, because of the adding of controvery to by show masons steal like that was the only bad call. Gottlieb pulled the same crap. But when duke gets a favorable call all is good and well. This team has to start rebounding better and delevop a inside presence for me to pick them beyond the sweet 16.
Absolutely agree with Texas hawk. KU probably won't win a game this year. Which stinks will be the only 0-12 season in our history. But I'm will to bet we win 2 or 3 next year mainly because of the younger guys like Willis will learn a ton from this year's hard schedule. Stay the coarse increase scholarship number buy as much as we can I believe 7 if no one leaves
I dislike the deal greatly. I live in a small town of 700 people there isn't many options for tv. When you look at Kansas and all the smaller communities it has it sad to think of the thousands like myself that can't watch them play on jtn.
I actually find myself wondering if we'd been better off keeping Gill and not going with weis. I would've made him get a new DC and conditioning coach after year 2 but look at the decent guys we had last year heeney, Shepard, Pierson, love, MacDonald, and other starters were gill guys. MMs last year was a mess I think they go 8-4 without the witch hunt lost to ksu mu and cu bye a total of 13 points close games can come down to lost focus in this case two meetings a week with sweet lou. I do like this staff and you never know look at TCU a terrible offensive to one of the best lets all go support these guys.
I think it could be a good year but worried about cheicks issues. Why do we recruit these guys keep it up and we are gonna get in trouble.
I tend to think having shorter guards are just fine. The title team had rusrob, Collins and the tallest of the bunch Chalmers at 6'2. I like a line up of speed with Mason, Moonlight, Seldon, Elis, big D. From the videos I've seen the guy can run and this line up should be able to defend well. Hopefully Traylor has a good year I always thought he could be a trob type of guy for a 5th year senior he has to show up or could be the worse such player in the self era.
