Their kickers are solid
@webjay Iām okay with a stop
@webjay ya skinner as a Senior canāt hang on to the dang ball go figure.
@Kcmatt7 option worked great letās run it once and never again. With run plays, you run them til they can stop them.
@approxinfinity well in all honesty we could was be down by 3 or 4 scores if not for the defense playing strong. This is what I get for giving Avery jazz about not throwing. Other than about 2 passes so far this season JD looks like dog crap at best. But yes we miss Coach K, need to run the damn ball. Neal 7 carries for 73 yards.
Jesus that was huge swing 10 points 20 seconds. At this point was Bean better than JD? My god you canāt throw that when a guy is sitting there waiting on it 3 picks for JD in a game without playing the second half last week. It maybe Ballard time in Lawrence
@stoptheflop that was another solid win for he conference. Does Campbell finally do something with one of the most experienced teams in CFB. I feel like heās been severely overrated there.
@stoptheflop thatās Kansas offense, running the option, good accurate throws and 6
There you go JD get in sync buddy
Offense has to wake up, stop trying to throw the home run ball repeatedly. JD just isnāt ready at this point for that.
My goodness guys smh we are lucky to still be in it, I suppose thatās a positive
@stoptheflop he obviously canāt pass it anymore
Jesus JD looking like a middle schooler so far this season.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Yep I believe we snapped the longest road losing streak in college football history vs Central Michigan in 2018. Coach LL in his first season KOād CFB longest conference road losing streak against Texas in year 1. I believe LL 6 road wins in 3 years is more than any coach since MM. Gill had zero, Wise zero, Beaty 1 and Miles 1.
Line started as KU -6.5 now it is KU -3.5
@stoptheflop Yes they were -12.5 last I saw, that was a solid win for the conference. Cincinnati gave one away today.
Wow OSU and Arkansas both miss FGs in OT
@Kcmatt7 for sure, cut down on the penalties and turnovers and they likely win by double digits. But yes that was the big change at half time for KSU, blitz like crazy so their QB canāt pick you apart and run the heck of of the ball. Think Avery was 9/15 for 88 yards in the first half.
Refs aināt gonna let the Mildcats lose sad when even the announcers are calling them out
KSU gets away with an obvious PI and gets the ball back to likely run out the clock smh
Probably better for the conference for OSU and KSU to win today in the long haul.
Tulane giving it away with silly penalties and now a fumble return for a TD deep in KSU territory. Maybe the play that saved the Mildcats.
Let go Tulane!!!
Bolton needs to step up big time, he just looked so slow out there. The tight ends were blowing him away. If has another game like that, he needs to be demoted to special teams. That was one of the worst performances Iāve seen in a long time from a linebacker.
A good win against a good team, could play a big factor later on in the year as to whom gets home field in the playoffs. Offense looked pretty good most the night, defense has a lot to work on IMO. If Lamar who played a good game could throw. The chiefs likely lose
A lot of cheap shots by the ravens again tonight
Man Bolton looks super slow tonight and getting burned like crazy
Well first off, itās pretty dang cool to see the game sold out on the road like this. I honestly think this is a bigger game for Illinois than it is for us. People are thinking the seat on Bielema is gonna get hot if he misses out on a bowl game yet again this season.
They looked solid in a week one win vs eastern Illinois. Can Altmyer take the next in to becoming a serviceable B10 QB. They lost most of their top play makers in terms of backs and wide receivers but they have a strong offensive line which is a staple of a Bret Bielema team IMO. The game with in the game is can our mostly un proven front 7 get pressure?
I think this turns into a physical ole big ten slug fest. Winning the turnover battle against good teams is a must for the victor. The only reason we lost to OSU and Tech last season was turnovers so hopefully we learned a few things. I hope JD is able to use his legs some in this one, I think we may end up needing them. I hope we are able to control the line of scrimmage and Neal has another big outing. I like us to win in a close game. It still feels weird picking us to win a road game against a power conference team hopefully it becomes the norm.
@wissox maybe thatās just me I can handle a taunting call but with gun violence the way it nowadays and with the timing of it (any taunting penalty at that time wouldnāt be very intelligent). Yep itās the stupidest thing Iāve seen in a football game and Iāve been watching for 30 years. If you do that in highschool youāre likely done for the season.
@wissox I didnāt think you thought it was okay but rather why he would think itās okay. @Crimsonorblue22 thats definitely true but by the time you hit middle school you should have a fairly good gauge between right and wrong. We have to hold people accountable for their actions, itās something lost right in not only youth but in general. Iāll stand by my statement that pretending to shoot opposing players is one of the stupidest things Iāve seen on the football field.
@wissox I agree to an extend but that was on of the stupidest things Iāve seen on a football field in a long time. Why would you think that would be okay? Some of the blame maybe goes to poor parenting and his dad that you know.
Edit: I also donāt like the term kid to describe college athletics these days. They are getting paid to be there, it is a job in a lot of ways, it wouldnāt be okay to do that in the McDonaldās drive thru to a customer either. Itās menās athletics not boys or kids. By the time I was the age of majority of these ākidsā I was living on my own, working and being adult.
Tech survives OT with Abilene Christian as they went for two in OT and didnāt get it.
@FarmerJayhawk oh yeah heās gonna need a few years but I think heāll get there
Watching a little bit of KSU Johnson kid doesnāt quite look like the god the have been selling him as thatās forsure
@Texas-Hawk-10 regardless you have to put up big numbers to win the Heisman
@Kcmatt7 said
Passing game is going to light the world on fire this year. Put $5 on JD for heisman.
I love JD as much as the next guy but heās a long ways behind statistically to start the year. Sanders threw for 450 yards and 4 TDs last night. JD only completed 60% of his passes, had a terrible pick and a QBR of 51.7. Thatās not a good line by any stretch of imagination. We will find out a lot next Saturday in Champagne.
I was shocked the game wasnāt sold out, you could buy tickets up to 20 minutes before kick but they were still $120 apiece.
Hopefully we never wear these ugly Carolina blue unis again
@Texas-Hawk-10 well the idea of it was nice lol not like letting up 3 matters with 3rd team in
@Texas-Hawk-10 good question, Iād guess 2007 or 2008
Ballard looking good
@stoptheflop what worries me is the offense is night and day more dynamic if Jalen uses his feet too. I get not running tonight but we will need his feet to win games.
I donāt think Jalen will be running a ton this year, stinks because heās arguably a better runner than passer
@Crimsonorblue22 44 on defense
I mean that wasnāt even remotely close, he was in by feet
@stoptheflop Iād guess the guarantee rate bowl
@FarmerJayhawk ya just had that to be expected first QTR rust. Pretty upset about the turnovers especially that pick
Reaper came to play and finally a decent play from JD. Keep getting the rust off
I like this wheeler kid
Jesus our kicking is gonna be the worst in the conference again.
