@nuleafjhawk Yep back in playing days I got up early to run 3 miles a day, got to school an hour early as soon as the the women’s coach would let me shoot and had my last hour off to shoot before practice. At this point to me it’s as simple as this team’s conditioning is pure garbage or they are a bunch a softies as Self would say.

@FarmerJayhawk I pretty much have only seen the negative effects in Basketball.

@RockkChalkk I’ve been preaching this since Hudy left and I just mentioned watching the 2012 team, that teams bench was even shorter than this teams yet we are just too tired to play. I’m really starting to question this deal with LMH health.

@benshawks08 I think only KJ and Furphy are elite athletes. Yes we have several above average this is D1 basketball. But overall top to bottom this team is one of Selfs worst IMO. Only team that comes close is the 2019 team to me.

I went back and watched some highlights earlier of the 2012 season because it popped up on X. It’s almost sad how unathletic we are compared to that team. They are pushing the ball and every player is catching lobs just fun stuff to watch. Man I hope now that the investigation is over we can get back to getting athletes.

@dylans I’m with @drgnslayr if we don’t have Hunter we aren’t making the NCAA tournament Zuby and Udeh both have looked terrible in the games I’ve watched. There averages combined x2 are still less than Hunters averages to date. I would be happy if one stayed instead of getting Parker.

@drgnslayr Hunter had a bad game no doubt and we knew coming in he could be a bit of a drama queen. I really think him getting the T fired up BYU and it was silly. He was being a dick to be a dick in that situation But y'all loved the Morris twins for doing similar stuff. If he makes his free throws I’m fine with everything he did beside that.

Part of the reason we give Juan so much crap is he hasn’t improved his game at all. He’s literally the same player he was as a Sophomore. He hasn’t improved his FG% or FT% his assists to turnovers are almost identical. He still looks scared to shoot most the time. I get he’s pass first and that’s fine but he just moved up 5th on KUs all time assists list and even if he plays next season he ain’t gonna get close to touching Miles’ all time record or Vaughn in second guys that were great pass first PGs.

If we surround Hunter with shooters, he will be good. Think of doke with the rest of the 2018 team. You can’t sag off or double him with 3 or 4 shooters. I’m actually shocked more teams don’t zone us the whole game, BYU did some last night but I bet Baylor blows us outta the water Saturday if Drew is smart enough to zone most the game.

After watching last night we maybe a football school here real soon. Self is done in 5 years or less and the outlook right or isnt real high from my standpoint

That was a dirty ass hit by Cunningham and the officials did a great job to control the situation. He looked right at and then lowered his shoulder. 9/10 that’s a full blown brawl between two teams.

@AsadZ I honestly think there is a fair chance we don’t win another game this season with Kevin out.

@BeddieKU23 I’m gonna ask a Honest question here, is this Bill Selfs worst coaching job? This team has 2 all-Americans likely, 3 draft hopefuls and a Cousy award finalist. In 2019 we had no talent and 2015 we had super young talent. I think this team may end up worse than those 2, tho on paper should beat those teams by 25 points.

@bskeet That’s one of my issues with Selfs coaching, we go under screens on shooters so often. Just thinking about Acie Law hitting a 3 in AFH in 2007 to beat us because we went under the screen. Thats something that got hammered in my head in middle school. Last night we left the corner shooters repeatedly and even the gal commentator (don’t remember her name but she was okay) said you can’t be fully in lane off the corners against BYU. To me it’s just common basketball knowledge and we don’t show it. The fundamentals on this team are pure garbage, Juan had multiple turnovers leaving his feet with no where to pass. It’s just not high IQ plays by seasoned veterans. Seniors shouldn’t be making plays like that and should be able to make free throws at 75% or better.

@jayballer67 as @Texas-Hawk-10 said it was a team loss for sure. It’s just sad to see how bad this team is compared to what we thought we had. We all have to survive the down years I suppose. I’m just really worried KSU will mop the floor with us.

Go easy on @kuballin10 he’s a 100 percent right regardless of how mad it makes others.

Anyone else seen the movie Blue Chips when coach Bell throws all their stuff in the middle of floor saying “You don’t deserve a locker room or uniforms, should be playing in your jock straps” all very true with this bunch and I’m hopeful Self is saying similar in our locker room tonight.

Can we stop paying those guys? They ain’t holding up there end of the deal. I’m okay at this point if not a soul on this team returns for next season outside furphy.

I just feel sick, this is one of the biggest let downs in KU basketball history preseason #1 to likely swept by KSU and gone first round in the NCAAs: why can’t we buy better players? Not one of these guy can hit 3s unguarded at 35% clip. What a joke folks
