I think you sit him if he isn’t ready to go after the bye week which is next weekend. Also it’s huge as to what JD wants to do. He’s been here a long time and many want to test the professional waters at some point. Honestly think if he could get one healthy season, he’d show what he can do and get picked.

I’m disappointed to lose the 2018 final four for sure. Does it also mean no B12 regular season and tournament championship that season? A step back but we can recover from this quickly. It’s just frustrating knowing Zion got his money and cost Dook nothing.

@jayballer67 look at our schedule and look at theirs. Gonzaga is the KSU of college basketball, only legends in their own minds. They are supposed to be great every year and end up out early most the time. 1 final four In program history. Sorry does nothing imo to add them, we have better teams and program in the conference already.

I’m completely against this at this time. Doesn’t gain you much in Basketball in the big picture and gains nothing in big money football. They would get railroaded and want out fast IMO. They play a JC level conference schedule most years.

Agree with @rockchalkjayhawk I don’t think it really helps the chiefs at this point. To me he is the same guy as Sky Moore, they have to hand him off the ball repeatedly to get him touches because he has drop issues. The chiefs currently lead the NFL in dropped passes and Hardman doesn’t help that IMO. If you could trade for a Mike Evan type I’d be interested in that him being in the last year of his contract.

At least his point we know and could appeal to save this season if it comes to that. Crazy world right now, Utah players all get brand new trucks but Jim at Michigan gets suspended for buying someone dinner.

I just watched some of footage of both Nick Reid and Tony Sands being added to the ring of honor. Pretty cool stuff IMO Tony holds the record for most rushing attempts in a single game with 53, his 396 yards versus Missouri in the same game ranks #5 on most yards in a single game in NCAA history after it held the #1 spot for over a decade and Tony also happens to be the 2nd leading rusher in Kansas history.

Nick was a big part of Mangino’s turn around here in Lawrence. Winning b12 conference defensive player of the year, named all conference 3 times and second on the all time tackles list. I think both were overdue to get their name etched in Kansas history.

Great to see Coach Mason and Coach Mangino in the house, two of our greatest coaches in program history. I’m told coach LL is really pushing for former guys to show up and support. This helps them do just that. I’m hoping to see more of it with the new stadium on the horizon.

It’s awesome to see Lance have a 8-2 record at home in the last two seasons and improve to 9-7 overall at the booth. That hasn’t happened much here in any era.

This defense continues to improve each week, gives its self opportunities and has game changing play capabilities.

Special Teams is leaps and bounds better than last season even with a few miss cues in the kicking game today.

Offense rebounded well after laying an egg in Austin last weekend. Bean looked much more comfortable, the line and running backs made his day pretty manageable.

I’m excited to go down Stillwater in a week to face the Pokes. It’s not an easy place to play by any means but KSU really gave that game away Friday night. I believe they had 3 turnovers in the form of interceptions and 2 more turnover on downs. Yet they still had chances to tie the game late.

Looking at the rest of our schedule, I don’t think it would be too insane to think we could win 4 more games at this time. JDs health is still a problem. I be shocked at this point if we didn’t win atleast 7 games even without JD.

With my work obligations I wasn’t able to watch any of this unfortunately. Best way to keep the pressure off Bean is to run the ball with such efficiency. Always fun to wear a KU hat in Aggieville when KU has a better record in football. Only one guy tried to fight me lol. I tell you this folks, they are scared KU could beat them this season being in town after this weekends events.

@stoptheflop Right there with you sir. Bean wasn’t good last week but that was against a Texas that may actually be a top 5 team and national contender. Bean has proven himself very capable in the past let’s hope he does once again this afternoon.

I have training tomorrow in Manhattan so I’ll be sure to wear my KU gear to throw some salt.

Bean still is thinking way too much instead of doing for a guy with his experience at this level. Saturdays loss to Texas wasn’t much of a surprise in the grand scheme of things. But a big question mark that looms imo on what to do moving forward at the QB position. Jalen Daniels aggravated his back injury during a walk thru at the team hotel and it obviously made a difference in todays game. But man was Jason Bean nearly unwatchable today. The 6th year senior made several plays in the running game that had every Jayhawk fan and the announcers wondering what the hell he was doing. He looked like he was scared to get hit multiple times and another time ran wildly swinging the ball in one hand leading to a fumble that Hishaw luckily recovered for 6 points. Honestly watching KU football since the 90s if Texas recovers that fumble and he doesn’t hit a wide open Wilson for a 58 yard touchdown, that could be the worst QB performance I’ve seen since the Terry Allen days and even with making those two plays it was worst in recent memory. 9/21 136 yards with a QBR of 16.5 was his stat line. I guess my question is if JD can’t be on the field, is it Ben Easter’s time? Am I’m overthinking a bad game by Bean when his mindset was holding a clipboard? I’ll give some credit to the defense because they played their game of bending and not breaking to perfection for almost 3 quarters before running out of gas (Texas’s time of possession and number of plays were both over double of KUs). I think some of the heat can go on Coach K in Bean’s defense. The game changed late in the 3rd when we decided to go for a 4th and 10 inches. I was fine with going for it, we are underdogs on the road. But the play call was atrocious. Why the hell do we not do a QB sneak or a play action pass in that position. Texas had 10 guys in the box, either line up under center and push Bean like the eagles do on Sunday or pass the dang pass ball. I think next week is a must win. Just frustrating performance by the offense today.

@Gorilla72 supposedly he aggravated his back during warms is what I’m hearing. Just unfortunate all around, Bean is capable but that was not his best game. I agree with @Texas-Hawk-10 we probably don’t win with JD but I bet we would’ve took the lead a time or two and ultimately lose by 10-14. The game felt closer than the final for much of it. The defense just got gassed late, Texas had over double the number of offensive plays as us. Jason even on that last 4th down could’ve easily ran and got it. Play calling wasn’t good imo either but it probably changes with JD in there.

Ya I feel like Texas is just trying to run up the score at point. They’re averaging like 9 yards a rush why pass the ball up 2 scores late?

Defense played solid that half and kept us in it. If we had JD it’s hard to believe we wouldn’t have 21 or 17 points
