KU Ladies tourney time • Mar 25, 2023 01:33 AM

The ladies will be playing Sunday after noon against apparently our nemesis in sports Arkansas. FB lost the bowl game by one point and obviously the MCB lost by a point last weekend. Can the women buck the trend here?

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 24, 2023 02:51 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 not a complete one like Wessel at WSU hitting 4 3s against us or a couple of VCU guys.

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 24, 2023 01:46 PM

@Zabudda that’s always the downside for Kansas people step up just to beat us. Always some guy that hasn’t hit crap all drains multiple 3s and what not.

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 24, 2023 11:48 AM

@mayjay right but most weren’t alive at that time

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 24, 2023 12:34 AM

I’d say the people cheering for KSU don’t live in this state or outside of the Lawrence area. I’d consider getting my armed chopped off rather than listen to them goons yap for the next 50 plus years about that one time they made the final four.

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 24, 2023 12:05 AM

This KSU has the talent to win the title and that stinks

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 23, 2023 11:27 PM

Ksu is gonna fart around and beat MSU. Nowell is okaying absolutely insane

2023 Transfer Portal • Mar 23, 2023 12:42 AM

@dylans yes that’s one of the issues with the college game these days. The 80s and 90s maybe even early 00s will always be a better era of collegiate sports. The games were better because guys understood the game better, stayed longer to develop and loved the universities they played for. That’s why I’ve always preferred college to pros. The emotion of game has always been higher compared to I made big plays so I know I’m getting a better contract or something. If it’s gets to the point of being more like the pros I’m not sure I’ll watch anymore.

Arkansas…. • Mar 22, 2023 11:12 PM

@benshawks08 I don’t think you base that off of the first weekend in March. Now if they make the final four? Would absolutely change seasons with them. If they lose to UConn I’d rather have our season. I think it should also be noted they were unhealthy for a fair chunk of the season. They are probably 3 or 4 type of club if they have a healthy roster all season. I like winning the conference but really don’t care too much in reality because everyone will judge the season on March right or wrong.

Alpha Kevin, 2023-2024 • Mar 22, 2023 11:07 PM

@drgnslayr I think that’s a fair assessment for the most part. Personally thought this team was garbage defensively outside of Juan and Kevin. None the bench guys could guard Fort Knox to boot.

2023 Transfer Portal • Mar 22, 2023 11:01 PM

@BShark ya I know money has always changed hands but the schools had more power in the past to keep a guy. I agree and hold zero ill will towards any of the guys leaving. Hope they find a good spot for themselves.

Alpha Kevin, 2023-2024 • Mar 22, 2023 10:57 PM

I’ll shoot a 100% honest as usual. I was unimpressed with Kevin for 3/4s of the year. He came on late and showed some of his worth and we needed it to win the conference. You look at his numbers from Tech the last 2 years they mirror that of him this year. I thought he was much more athletic than he seemed to be here maybe some of that was his back. I thought the ball stuck so bad especially early in the year on offense when he was in the game. It was very obvious at the game I was at. Of course some it can be attributed to being new.

2023 Transfer Portal • Mar 22, 2023 10:46 PM

I’m not disappointed in who’s leaving so far, it’s like a job with the NIL. Players have to understand they fought for it to be that way but just like a job if I can find someone better for the same pay. See ya later that’s the dog eat dog world we live in.

2023 Coaching Changes • Mar 22, 2023 09:17 PM

@drgnslayr I agree, them thinking Pitino is funny in itself.

2023 Coaching Changes • Mar 22, 2023 04:29 PM

I think the shocker fan base and administration are high on themselves. Issac Brown whom is 2 years removed from the AAC regular season championship and coach of the year is fired for going 17-15 when half is his team left due to the lack of NIL Deals. They had former players come out and say that WSU gave them zip, if they had anything in place, they would’ve stayed. They expect a top 3 finish in the AAC and NCAA bid every year. I just don’t think that’s realistic playing in the AAC for them.

KU Offseason Chef Bill Cooking Thread • Mar 20, 2023 11:08 PM

@BShark he better not be playing this offseason because our rivals are still playing while we are at home. Every radio station in the state is continuously jerking off Tang and the mild cats. One year of that Bull S is as much as I care to hear.

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 19, 2023 10:24 PM

Izzo is so fun to watch this time of year, such a character

KU Offseason Chef Bill Cooking Thread • Mar 19, 2023 10:19 PM

@kuballin10 I’m sure they ain’t happy but the difference is you and I had no control over what happened yesterday. I tell my son all the time there are some tests in life you only get one chance to take. The tournament is one of those.

KU Offseason Chef Bill Cooking Thread • Mar 19, 2023 09:57 PM

@nuleafjhawk nothing wrong with being pissed off after the epic collapse that was yesterday.

KU Offseason Chef Bill Cooking Thread • Mar 19, 2023 08:58 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I personally feel like we are headed towards Ted Owens last decade of struggle. I think that group would have trouble scoring but would play defense and rebound well.

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 19, 2023 08:29 PM

@BShark for sure, it’s more so KSUs achieving moderate success and being the new power that gets old.

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 19, 2023 08:24 PM

@Eric-san the problem is for me living in the middle of KSU land. They haven’t stopped talking about the 2010 team that went farther than KU. Will be talking about this long after I’m in the cold hard ground. KSU is trending up to the point they could easily be better than us next season. Hopefully we can beat them in football.

KU Offseason Chef Bill Cooking Thread • Mar 19, 2023 08:20 PM

@BShark I hope he stays personally but you never know. Let’s hope y’all are right on the portal.

KU Offseason Chef Bill Cooking Thread • Mar 19, 2023 08:16 PM

@BShark 3 point shooting is my biggest concern for next season. If some of our bigs develop size will be better. MJ can shoot, he looked great against seton hall the game I was at. He just couldn’t catch a break off the court with injuries and illness. I think he has a ton of upside, we need to hit the portal to get a couple of shooters.

KU Offseason Chef Bill Cooking Thread • Mar 19, 2023 08:11 PM

I think Udeh and Kj could both start next season. I think MJ has a ton of upside if he can develop over the summer. Juan, Adams, MJ, KJ and Udeh is a good line up

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 19, 2023 08:06 PM

@mayjay haha

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 19, 2023 08:03 PM

Hurts watching KSU step up and make plays when we couldn’t prob done watching til next season.

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 19, 2023 08:01 PM

KSU it is

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 19, 2023 07:52 PM

If we had Oscar we’d be dam good, hope Udeh is watching

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 19, 2023 07:40 PM

@BShark ksu with a little burst here, I miss when we had guards that could go get their own shot like that. Such a huge advantage. Not a knock towards Juan but a guy like with speed.

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 19, 2023 07:34 PM

I feel like UK is one run away from blowing this wide open. They are destroying KSU on the glass

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 19, 2023 05:02 PM

Xavier not having any trouble with Pitt.

Spoiled • Mar 19, 2023 04:56 PM

I think how we lost it is what bothers me the most. Fundamentals absolutely killed us, not boxing out, silly fouls, missing free throws and getting 10 seconds called. This loss and the Michigan loss in the sweet 16 because we blew double digits are the hardest I think for me to accept. We are spoiled in a lot of ways but we are Ochai stealing a bad pass and getting a dunk against Creighton last year in this round from losing 4 straight in the round of 32. That’s not acceptable IMO, I know y’all will start cussing my name for saying but it’s not.

KU Offseason Chef Bill Cooking Thread • Mar 19, 2023 02:58 AM

@kuballin10 if BS had UKs, Baylor’s or Texas’ rosters he’s cutting down the nets this season.

KU Offseason Chef Bill Cooking Thread • Mar 19, 2023 02:56 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 Jwil could stay for 2 more years if I’m not mistaken. He broke his leg and could get a medical redshirt for it and add in a Covid year(listed as a junior). Kevin could have a extra year with Covid.

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 19, 2023 02:53 AM

@rockchalkjayhawk yep that’s the most frustrating part for me as the famous coach Green quote ā€œThey were who we thought they were and we let them get awayā€ I’ve been saying all day they lived on the offensive glass and we did good in the first half. The intensity just wasn’t the same after the first 5 minutes of the second half. Guys standing and watching. Maybe the most maddening part is their one free throw miss was huge bonus for them. I’ve watched that play 5 times Juan and KJ both just stood there not reacting to the miss. Both guys had a better angle but didn’t move towards the ball! You have to attack the ball and go get it.

KU Offseason Chef Bill Cooking Thread • Mar 19, 2023 02:44 AM

I don’t disagree with @kuballin10 we are lacking athleticism compared to a lot of teams. But athleticism isn’t everything in basketball. KU always has great players that’s why they are always good. I said once before on here we don’t match the athleticism of several B12 teams like TCU, Texas, KSU and Baylor notice we split with all those teams because when you don’t have that edge athletically your margin for error is much smaller. Obviously we win the league and beat those teams once. But You can’t have the mental mistakes we had today and win.

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 19, 2023 01:30 AM

That one 10 second call was huge and costly but when you lose by a single point. I could list 20 plays right now that would have won it for us. That’s just how close games go and it’s tough to swallow. It’s much easier to lose by 20 knowing it just wasn’t your night/ played a better team or something.

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 19, 2023 12:27 AM

@bskeet if on positive notes, KJ was great in limited minutes and stepped up from the line.

KU Offseason Chef Bill Cooking Thread • Mar 19, 2023 12:07 AM

@BShark a lot of stuff to be figured between now and then for sure.

KU Offseason Chef Bill Cooking Thread • Mar 19, 2023 12:05 AM

Im honestly worried we will be a average next season but that’s gonna happen at one point here

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 19, 2023 12:02 AM

@bskeet we can argue all evening I suppose but the players and coaches have to have accountability if the refs do it’s only fair. The zebras don’t miss shots, passes or forget to switch leading to wide open layup (think that happened 5 times today). That’s the KSU way of thinking IMO. Too good to lose on their own accord.

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 18, 2023 11:43 PM

@bskeet refs didn’t miss FTs and get a 10 second call up 4 with 2 minutes to go. Bad crew but they were even.

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 18, 2023 11:41 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 Eric is a better coach than Norm is no question

KU Offseason Chef Bill Cooking Thread • Mar 18, 2023 11:31 PM

@dylans I would draft them before any guy on our roster. As much as I love Jwil he ain’t lasting in the NBA, Dick maybe if he can hit from the cold bench consistently.

KU Offseason Chef Bill Cooking Thread • Mar 18, 2023 11:23 PM

We need some athletes guys and gals. Council and Davis were easily the most athletic on the floor, that lead to several offensive rebounds. We need guys that play above the rim!!

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 18, 2023 11:14 PM

To make matters worse KSU or UK will be in the sweet 16.

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 18, 2023 11:10 PM

Maybe it’s the 10 second call late but that so reminiscent of Michigan in 2013. We had the ball up 4 with just over two minutes to go and had a ten second call. That’s so tough for me to handle from 2 really good guards that had mental lapses when you just can’t.

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 18, 2023 11:03 PM

I don’t think anyone is turning on anyone guys, tough way to lose shitting ourselves but it ain’t the first or the last time it will happen unfortunately

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 18, 2023 11:02 PM

Arkansas is great in March and has been under Muclemsan( not sure how he spells it) they could easily make the final four.
