On one hand Self has completely broken players like Bragg. Otoh you have success stories like Russ Rob and Newman.

He's been...getting better about it I think. Next year will be more of a test. Lots of options.

Recruiting was excellent this year after the shit show in 2017 so hopefully it continues. Some legitimately good ins the next two classes including but not limited to: a top 30 guard whose mom went to HS with Jerrance Howard, a top 30 guard whose dad played for Self at Tulsa, a top 50 wing who had multiple family members graduate from KU (including mom), Ttp 40 guard in Topeka, top 25 modern post player from KC whose dad went to KU etc...

Modern guy is n’faly, and Topeka is Harvey

If we continue to go inside to start games and run the third grade weave I’m gonna meet bill on hawktalk and instead of an autograph ask my question then hand him a book by jay Wright’s basketball philosophy and two titles.

We talk all the time on whiffing recruits that duke, uk and unc get.

Nova has our level of recruiting but wright has figured out defensive pressure based on today’s game and offensive spacing/ball movement with guys who can shoot but maybe aren’t top 10 recruits.

A hall of fame high school coach I know always said you win by making the one or two guys who never score 30 have to in order to beat you.

Meaning let booth and their other least productive shooter have open shots every single time. If you’re guarding them you help on ever drive and let booth not make 5 threes but heck 7 or 8 because I bet he can’t. Whoever the weakest two players on the floor are you always let them shoot. Do everything u can to guard other guys. What u get is guys shooting who mentally know their role isn’t to do more than chip in 10-15 a night and when left open freeze

He was a freshman asked to carry a big role on a really bad cal team. His size is what concerns me the most as he's looked like a middle school player since he got here. He can play and with a possible 4 years here it will be impossible to expect he won't step up at some point

Attempted less threes than nova has made. Turning them down to make post entry passes. Bill reverted Wanted it for doke and his Mom also believes the game is inside out. He’s right but also wrong. It’s inside out with dribble penetration not post up and kick it out. Nova and any team will play doke straight up he only has 1 move

The whole play through the post works when you have an nba big down low (bagley, ayton, Darrell Arthur)....bill hasn’t ever changed this. New game is 5 guys who can shoot. Spread it and attack

@Bwag both offense and defense. Bills got the lobs and backdoors down but it’s overall creativity and putting guys in positions for wide open shots. Well it’s not a heart breaking buzzer beater and we overachieved. Thought it might have been our miracle year all week but boy I was wrong.
